I asked if the water spigot was “potable” meaning clean water. The cashier at the Pilot Truck stop said no. Therefore I wouldn’t recommend using it for anything except possibly for mechanical use.

Now it’s 20.000 pesos per night, for a duplex with 2 individual beds.
Very clean.
Lots of space in the « living room » to keep the bicycles inside. Pet friendly.

There’s a small river crossing almost immediately when turning off Juan miller and the road is very rough. I stayed by the river at an old fire ring, it’s beautiful down here. No one else anywhere around, no cell service and you are a several hours drive to get to any sort of town. Hiking up the jeep road from here was fun.

Highly Recommended.
I’ve been to plenty of campsites and this one is awesome. I’m only here one night but showed up and got a shower in. Bathrooms were a little gross but I mean it’s an $18 camp site so I’m not expecting 5 star hotel. Huddled up for the night as there’s a storm coming through.
I did have to move sites though I originally chose 28 but when I got there it was extremely steep. Wouldn’t recommend that site and the ones around it. Ended up getting moved to 72 and that’s the go to for sure. Bathroom, shower and playground right across the way. Also had a table and a fire pit.

super endroit très bien entretenu et avec tout ce qu'il faut. la piscine était ouverte, les enfants ont adoré. nous n'avons pas mangé mais le buffet donnait très envie.
nous recommandons vivement cet endroit où les propriétaires sont très gentils.

Decent sized camping spot with views and good cell coverage. High clearance isn’t a bad idea but 4WD isn’t needed. Google maps routing to the road is wrong so you have to just do it manually.

We took this road up to the colored mountain, we have a pick up with capsule (so quite heavy) and wouldn’t have managed to do it without using the 4x4 low gear. It’s quite steep and rocky and we needed to cross a small river 3 times. We were told that the road from the other way (from Layo) is not doable at the moment due to landslides.

There is another parking lot higher than this one (1.3km distance, where the tourist attraction point is set). If you managed to reach this point you can definitely reach the other one as the road is better than below!

Fomos para o Morro de Sao Paulo. Deixamos o carro aqui.
