Great little spot for one night. Got here at 8:30 - 9 PM and stayed one night. Wouldn’t recommend staying here for more than that. 3 bars LTE for Verizon.

Nice place for bioluminescence tour in kayak. We were a group of 11 persons and managed to negociate a 2 hours tours for $30 per person.
We were well welcomed by all the team. We ate at their restaurant after the tour. It was delicious.
It’s possible to take a shower and to refill the the tank with water. You can sleep in the street, it’s a dead end street.

What a fantastic place to camp. Great sites, all with a tap , power and a braai. Staff are wonderful , ablutions spotless and cannot fault it. In a leopard protected area too which is great . Also the Wild Card is accepted even though it’s a Cape Parks reserve . Cost for 2 people and a big rig truck , with a wild card was R210 for the night in total

A large campground, dispersed camping style meaning no facilities. Some fire rings at some sites. High desert and secluded. Easily accessible on dirt roads. No issues in our 2WD campervan.

I find the site very rustic. It’s grand for one night, if you stay longer ensure you have your own facilities.
The chaps are friendly and accommodating but not thinking about the basics of a campsite.
There is a water tap outside the entrance to the loo and shower cubicles. With a little effort they could plumb the toilet and shower into the water source. Shame, site has potential.

The brown state park sign on the road says this area is called “Mc Connell Creek” and official park land. BLM or similar. (Not affiliated with the rest area by DOT)
Came to your overnight and it was great. Go over the cattleguard that is at the rest area and up the dirt road about a 10th of a mile to where the fence and gate are located. Just to the left of the gate is a grassy/dirt area And has an old fire ring that is currently grown over with grass but could be cleaned up. It was cold overnight at about 30° and the peak of the mountain just behind us has some snow on it here at the beginning of May. Definitely stay here again.

Great free dump station!! Was a bit worried it was as overflowing, but it was due to rain the night before and the seal on the cap being so good! There was a piece of lumber there to use to press the cap latch though. All good! Check out the washrooms while you’re here! Cool decor and super clean! There is an outlet in the washroom if you needed it too. We give this place an A+

For being next to the “highway” this is definitely not a bad camp spot to stay for a night! We drove a bit further behind some trees and enjoyed a beautiful sunset.

We drove the road today in dry weather . Lot‘s of midslides and rocks on the road. But well doable with our heavy Jeep in about 4 hours. No reglementation of passage by the roadbuilders.

Big Pemex, with restaurant and minisuper. We asked for the security guard (Jose Manuel) if we could stay for the night. He was very friendly and said we could stay as long as we leave early. Some noise from the road, but we felt safe. We gave Jose Manuel 30 pesos in the morning (he kind of asked for it).

Beautiful spot with access to the gorge. Quiet. Trash and a pit toilet. A bit hard to stake tents because of rocks but works if you find the right spot. We camped because it was gorgeous out. The road down is quite steep and has a lot of turns! It says no car camping on the sign but I highly doubt a ranger is coming down in the middle of the night to check, especially when it isn’t peak season

Ashamed to see and have lived the experience that there is only ONE person in customs Peru and ONE person in Bolivia. The peruvian needed 45 minutes per car !!! to be able either to give the entrance or let us out. !!! Really ashamed !! to be at the border 90 minutes due to this !!!

The bolivian officer did not a clue about how many days he should give us, we explained that the same that inmigration, and he said "NO !!....

A lot of locals come and go, but everybody was very friendly (we were there on a sunday) - apparently this is private land, because the owner came to explain us that the entrance will be closed over the night (just a rope) - but he was very happy with us staying there, just wanted to make sure we knew!

Great stop for us on our way North. Access road is hidden behind a power station and is pretty rough, I'd recommend a 4x4 rig if attempting it. Mosquitoes were bad this time but it's worth it to wake up with waterfront views.

Today unfortunately cold in Sajama but they reduced the price for us. Very nice staff. And the Hostal looks gorgeous l.
