Ivan es un mecánico especialista en VW. Especialista y mago xq saca piezas de la galera. Es una persona muy profesional y hace lo que sea para poder ayudarte a arreglar y conseguir las piezas necesarias para que tú VW ande. Nosotros tuvimos problemas con la dirección y con vs piezas de las ruedas y todo lo fue consiguiendo buscando y buscando. Nunca te va a dejar tirado. Aparte de ser una excelente persona es un excelente profesional. Si hijo Andrés sigue sus pasos y es tan profesional y dedicado como él. Fue realmente un placer y una suerte para nosotros poder encontrarlos para poder dejar nuestra kombi andando nuevamente de 10!
Aparte de todo esto tienen un espacio para viajeros que está en otro item de ioverlander. Todo de 10

Llegamos aca por problemas en la caja de dirección y nos encontramos con esta genialidad. Ivan y su familia son una familia hermosa y super acogedora que te hacen sentir en casa. Tienen un espacio hermoso donde estar con mesas, sillas, wifi, baño y ducha caliente. Todo gratis!!
Clara hace unos almuerzo exquisitos y super económicos. De los más ricos que comimos en Ecuador.
Andrés, Belén y Oscar (hijos de Iván y Clara) completan la familia y juntos hacen un ambiente súper ameno, divertido y confortable.
Compartir una comida, unos mates y dejar un lindo recuerdo son cosas q no podés dejar de hacer aqui si pasas x Quito.
No te los pierdas! son puro corazón.

An alternate site to the Little River in the Woods, just off the road. Sadly not as secluded and no view of the river but just everybit as peaceful. Has a small fire pit. Cell service is spotty (1 or 2 LTE bars only).

Single room was smelly and moistures. Didn’t stay. Other rooms looked ok but too expensive for me.

There is space for tent camping here. The gate is open from 8am to 5pm. S/5 for day visit and S/10 if you want to camp at the top. The road up until here was almost a very nice graded dirt road. From here to Lake Paron is of course another story. No sand or steep sections, but road is rocky and full of stones. My motorcycle (DR650) took a beating going up and coming down. If definitely doable. Leaving your luggage at a hostal/hotel in Caraz is highly recommended for this ride. I camped in Hostal Casa Azul which is for motorcyclists and bicyclists.

Magnificent view from here. Down a track between ploughed fields, keep going for a click or two then right up towards a forest. Silent. Strong 4G signal.

busy spot, you'll also get visited by a lady selling mussels in old coffee jars... we didn't camp.

Like someone said, the landslide is still here, but you can park your vehicle and walk past that for 5 minutes to reach the lake. It’s one of the most beautiful lakes I’ve seen. Of course the lake is pretty, but the mountains surrounding it makes the scene so much more beautiful. Like someone pointed out earlier, try to arrive early to have the place almost empty. I arrived there at 11.15am and there were already two tour vans. And try not to leave till 1-2pm as you could have oncoming traffic on your way down. Restrooms available, but you pay S/1 to use them. Lunch available too, but mediocre. They rent canoes and also have boat rides, but I’m unaware of the costs. There is a mirador up a mountain which takes 30 mins or so, and worth the hike. Good luck!

Various juniper trees to receive shade throughout the day. We placed our pop up camper in-between a larger tree and the fire ring closest to the main road. Short walk to the edge and you get an excellent view! Great sunsets, but definitely a bit windy while we were here. Didn't have anybody near us until the final night (Friday night) plenty of spots out here. Super easy road in as well.

newer Walmart that we stayed at after struggling to find anywhere else around. we asked security and he said it was okay, and to park in front of the main doors so they can keep an eye on us.

Huge picknick, recreation, fishing area. This point shows where you should leave the 18-25. When you leave town take short after the bridge the gravel road to the right. You already can see the park main gate. Easy access for all rigs. When it's wet you can still find a spot but choices are a bit more limited. Bush, medium sized trees, open areas. Turkcell ok.

quite small but good campsite. we were all alone. very good hot shower all together for two people and camper with electricity for €20

Wonderful night stop. Swam in afternoon and next morning. The water wasn’t too cold for us ocean people.

Este es el acceso Norte del Cotopaxi. La ruta de machachi hasta acá es mala. Algo de asfalto y mucho de ripio y en subida. Se puede hacer pero si querés todo asfalto tenes que entrar por el acceso sur. Llegamos a las 5 y estaba cerrada la entrada (cierra a las 15hs) asiq el guardaparque nos dijo que paremos afuera del parque y nos habilito baño y wifi. Muy copado. La vista es hermosa y hace mucho frío.
Al día siguiente entramos al parque y fuimos hacia la laguna de limpiopungo a recorrerla y salimos x el acceso sur hacia Latacunga, todo asfalto.
Hermoso todo el recorrido.

Superbe avant de descendre vers le sud, 70reals/ pers, on voit des tatoos, des toucans, des haras bleu, des buffles et toutes sortes d’oiseaux… les repas sont cuisinés par la maman et sont excellents, balade à cheval possible et piscine très agréable. Matéo est adorable

Benin side, CDP stamped out, on the right side building. Passport stamped out, in the left building. Next door, the vaccine controls for yellow fever and then the Nigerian passport and visa control. Two windows further CDP stamped in.

SIM card be careful! The guys at the border wanted 20000-.- CFA for the SIM with 10GB. In reality, the SIM should only cost 6000.- Naira and 10 GB, also not more than 6000.- Naira.
20000.- CFA =48000.- Naira. 12000.- Naira= 5000.- CFA, so don't let them get you.

The steps described below were very helpful. After the officer put on a show that we had to go back to South Africa to get a police clearance, we got the "benefit of the doubt" and just got a stamp from Interpol for which we didn't have to pay.

We paid: USD 20 road tax, 50 kwacha council fee, 484 kwacha carbon tax and 638 kwacha for insurance. As the slip of the road tax states "7 days", we went back but the officer assured us that this doesn't matter and we can stay 30 days.

The armed guys keep the "helpers" away, so we didn't think it was that chaotic as some others described (thankfully).

Google Maps brought us right where we needed to be. Camping now N$300 pp, bird watching boat cruise (which we loved) N$ 600 pp.

Lovely luxurious place. We also did the couples massage and it was really good. Compared to European prices, it is a steal. Go for it!

Private ablutions are clean, WiFi didn't really work.

We went to see the Epupa Falls and enjoyed a drink at the Gondwana campsite.

Camp Cornie is very different from the camps right next to the falls: spaces are huge with private ablutions, we went on the canoe trip (which wasn't very relaxing in the end because we were on our own and the river is full of crocs, but maybe I'm just not brave enough), enjoyed a sundowner with the owners on a hill and played with their cute 3 months old Jack Russell.

We were here for 3 nights and had an enjoyable stay. WiFi works very well too.

Nice camp ground with parking and walk-in sites for tent camping.
Smaller sites that are close together but there is lush forest throughout and gives the right amount of privacy. Pit toilets right near the entrance to the sites.
Stopped for a night to rest and was a great experience.

Great spot outside of Chitina. Be aware that if you take the first right there is a lot of standing water in June and the mosquitoes are prolific (but that’s normal for Alaska in June).

Little shop on the side of the road will sell gasoline for 5 bob/liter.
