The GPS coordinates are way off. That’s the back of a housing development. We stayed at Mendon Pond Beach parking. (Thank you Google maps) Beautiful sunset over the water. Lots of birds and peepers. Excellent Verizon service.

190 blocked in both directions for unknown reasons from (at least) noon until 17h today (a Friday before a holiday weekend). Apparently it happens often, sometimes only opening up at midnight. No possibility to pass, and detouring is not recommended according to the locals standing in line.

From Uvinza to Mishamo Village it’s a bit rough, many potholes, some muddy sections but nothing to worry about. Take it slow and you`ll be fine. The are improving the road from the south, so after Mishamo there’s a good dirtroad. After Vikonge it’s a brand new tar road until Katavi NP. On some steeper passages they put concrete. Nice and easy drive, took me almost 5 hours from Uvinza to Mpanda.

Basic, but nice camp at the river. Everything as described before. Juma is an awesome host, super nice guy. I really enjoyed my stay.

Un lindo espacio para acampar , con duchas a $150 pesos argentinos , no tiene wifi . Pregunte en la estación y buena onda me dejaron pasar la noche , tiene un buen espacio verde al lado de la estación y de noche cierra por lo que se duerme tranquilo sin ruidos

the place seems to be closed for camping, but the guy at the reception said i can stay there with my camper van - for CLP20.000 for one person for one night. DIDN'T stay. (Instead: Camping y Cabañas La Isla, just a few min away, where they charged me CLP 6.000)

Very quiet and beautiful view over calafate with an amazing sunrise. Didn't look like a lot of wind shelter but fortunately it wasn't windy at all.

It’s fine for a place to park the rig and sleep. Just a dirt area. This area didn’t have any big rigs. They were just east of the fire station.

Large parking lot between Walmart and highway. Several trees in this section helped with privacy and highway noise. Several cars, rigs, and RVs there when we stopped at 11pm.

it appears as if you have to reserve in advance online ( https://www.tourflordecana.com/ ) and they do fill up. They were booked out two weeks in advance when I checked, and as an overlander, I rarely plan that far in advance!

We do NOT recommend this place!!
Told us we can park our van next door for 10 soles and 5 soles for shower because he offers hot showers.

Shower was cold as ice and he demanded we still pay the price, because all of the sudden the 5 soles are for the toilets as well??! 1 day before it was 5 soles only for the HOT shower. He changed his story and prices.
Other than that he was unfriendly and not really helpful, look for other places or pay more to stay in a hostel/hotel.

There are signs saying it is not potable water.

Stayed in the Walmart/Target parking lot overnight with no issue at all. There was also a few other overnighters here

take a little turn off and just drive till you cant see the highway. good hard all weather ground with predominant wind from south. little noise from the highway but not enough to keep you awake.

This is now a burn zone. Avoid when wet or windy and watch out for dead trees above you.

very good welcome and beautiful environment, Rodrigo provides a bungalow for the toilets and the shower. very quiet night. we paid 50 soles for the night.

Established campground across the street from show low lake and boat ramp. Has bathrooms, hot showers 6:30-6:30 only. Water and garbage. Also small playground for kids. Small store with ice, firewood, propane etc. think they have some sites with hookups, but dry camping with picnic table and fire ring was $18. Good cell service too.

As other Crocker Barrels, this one graciously accepted our staying overnight

Centro esportivo comunitário e campo de futebol com áreas verdes. Tem um telhado para se proteger da chuva. Tem banheiros mas estão fechados, só pode entrar quando fizerem alguma atividade no local. O wifi é beira mar senha: gamboa123 Eles nos deixaram montar a loja sem problemas ☺️

Very large parking lot with additional gravel/dirt lots. I had it to myself on a Thursday night. The lights stay on all night. You can hear some traffic from main road but are still secluded. Park Ranger was driving in as I was leaving around 7 AM.

We moved around till we found a spot we liked and with great Verizon coverage. Lots of options depending on your rig, we did just fine in a 170 RWD Sprinter.

Was pretty peaceful, the main paved road in and out is definitely used for trucking and we stayed on a Friday night so the dirt bikers and 4 wheelers we're coming in late.

Please pack in and out, SO much trash everywhere!

Wild camping by a fire red escarpment with strange rock formations. Very other worldly place.
No facilities. Road recommended with high clearance. It's a 14 mile drive on a rocky dirt road from Whitney Pocket.

Locked but just let them know how much you need inside. Paid $.25 for my 5 gallon jug.

Beautiful spot in the middle of the valley. Very secluded, didn't see another car for the last 10+ miles. No services at all. No 4wd required, but high clearance recommended. Its a gravel road and it took me about an hour to get here from the main road. The entire drive is fantastic

This is now only the Chilean side of the process. It looks like it's temporary. The process is very confusing. The roads sign are for the previous process. Look carefully and follow the trucks. You have to drive around the biggest building. Enter at the back. Then go into the building. Don't queue with the people from the buses. Walk in and queue for immigration Autos. After the passport is stamped go to the next queue for you car. Its marked Solo conductor. Only driver. Then the next queue where they check you Argentina paperwork. Then you can exit the building and driver to Argentina side of the Mountain and do the Argentina process.

Nice camping area just outside of the park. The spots aren’t overrun with homeless people or trash. It was pretty quiet with one other camper for the night. Walmart and Fast Food are a couple minutes away. Good spot for an overnight stay. 2 bars of service with Verizon.

Amazing spot! We were the only ones there. We saw a few trucks go by to the spots further along but felt we did not need to attempt going further as road had soft and rather deep sand. We were fortunate with a beautiful warm weather and a lovely sunset. We slept very well. Heard nothing and saw only a few cows go by. Highly recommend it!

Lake Perris State Park Rv camp ground. Clean, camper are friendly. Dog friendly - should be kept on leash, I say that cause some were and some weren’t but didn’t see any dog fights. Mix of tent & RV’s. Water & Electrical hookup. There’s also a shower area. (Haven’t used it) They have a sewer dump as you exit. It’s pretty quiet after 10p.
