Camping spot option next to a huge abandonned new building, unfortunately closed. Good protection though and a bit outside town. A tienda with everything needed nextdoor. Also a tab with water at disposition.

Stayed here last night. Nice place along the river. It's a small spot for a smaller vehicle. But, boy, was it a rough ride in. It was very narrow, with all the trees scraping against the car and the ice and snow made it difficult to get down and even worse to get back up. Managed to get stuck while spinning on the ice. Took a bit of maneuvering to get out. A 4x4 with clearance and a winch recommended. In the summer, it probably isn't as bad, it's a short road in, and a bit bumpy.

Quiet street parking near trailhead. No signs to make me think camping here isn't OK

A cool quiet place to sleep for thr night. Only good for cars or SUVs or vans, maybe a small rvs. Even tho there is a "no camping" sign, a local cop told me it's fine nobody gonna bother me.

A nice place to stay with a view. The 4 km Looptrail to the petrified waterfall was very worthwhile. You don't need a guide for this. Were here on a Thursday morning. The two main pools were being cleaned. Photo or bathing was not possible.

Did the drive today, super easy drive with every car. I think they renewed the roads and you can stop everywhere now and you can pass other cars easily. The route is about 3 km. So you can also walk it. At the end of the route there is a low tree indeed. Around 3m or a bit higher. But if you cant make that. Just turn around a take the way back because its only 3km. And those 3km are beautiful!

Nice campsite with wifi, kitchen, hot shower and clean bathroom. The host is friendly and asked 800 pppn. Walk into town is maybe 20 minutes. The campsite has bbq areas and power outlets. 2 friendly dogs who loves to cuddle. Absolutely recommend when visiting Purmamarca.

Perfect place to spend a night, we felt very safe. The campsite is free, has water, barbecues and many trees. The people who work at the campsite are very friendly, you can ask them for a tap with a very good flow of water. There is no cell phone signal, I asked and they told me that only Movistar works. It is recommended.

Safe parking lot, cheap car wash (85 pesos for a high roof van and they even washed under it)
But it is not a place to sleep as they have to close the gates from 6 pm to 6am.
Very friendly staff.

Because we didn't feel safe at the deserted Chakra y Mar beach, we drove here. There was no guard, but we felt safe. A lot of people around and no bathroom close by.

stayed here 2 nights to wait out tropical storm Nicole. Lots of semis, big rig RVs, and some smaller vans, some of which also stayed 2 nights. The cops cruise through here somewhat regularly, they didn't bother us. Walmart itself has nice bathrooms, best in the morning, by the end of the day they were kind of rough from use/not cleaned. The Walmart itself was very clean and well organized.

Please don’t bother going there to camp on a weekday as we were chased away for no booking but mostly because we were black. I wonder what camp site chooses when to accept overlanders….

At 7am a food truck arrives and hi rented a place, so have that in mind and be nice.
Burrito breakfast was really good. And if you buy they have a toilet pit ;)

Was here a couple of nights in the past week. Place is RV friendly, has useable washrooms, grocery, etc. There was a huge generator charging when I parked but stuff like that puts me to sleep. It was not charging the second night.

Spent two good nights here. There is very good wind shelter so perfect for rooftop tents. Some white noise from the river. It’s clean and there are many trash cans. Two toilets but without water. Some people come every morning to clean them and leave a big water bottle (for flushing maybe?). There is a very cute kids playground and many places to do barbecue. During the week 1-2 cars come to have a barbecue and leave or stay with a tent. One evening we arrived to a family with two kids who came and was cutting a tree with a chainsaw (a dry one but still..) at 9:30pm (???) to make fire.

came here to get my transfer box checked. previous comments are accurate, only difference is that Cisse Jr. has left, so now only one mechanic (Cisse Sr.) and a handful of assistants left. Assistants won't do any work other than moving cars and holing a torch so you will have to wait until Mr Cisse is available.

El lugar está abierto. Muy bien cuidado y atendido por su dueña. 20 soles por auto con wi Fi y ducha. Mucho mejor que el que está más cerca del centro.

They were very nice. They took away our peppers. Otherwise, it was just: no fruit, meat and cheese. Butter and cucumber and zucchini were okay.

Beautiful view at this free campsite. There’s a fire ring as well as signs stating to pack out what you pack in. The road was tricky but we were able to do it in a van. Please help keep this place clean!
