The bridge looks a bit scary, but it was ok for our 3.2 tones VW T5. Right behind us was a 7 meter Mercedes Sprinter 515 2x4 (carries 15 people) crossing. The people got off before crossing the bridge though :-). It was dry, so no 4x4 needed. But I wouldn't drive there in rainy conditions.

Beautiful hike! We did it in two days and pitched our tent next to the lake. There are spaces at the lake for tents. The 'No camping' sign seems to be for the private property only. We asked a local guide if it's ok to camp and he said yes.

Good spot to park for a night. Our server at a restaurant said it's legal to park anywhere unless there's a sign posted - lots of other cars parked on the street. Right near a park for morning walks as well.

Laundromat, grocery store, cheap food, water (big bottle refills) close by. The free RV dump just down the road.

Quite a few mobile home parks close by, so just look on maps for a cozy subdivision (many around) spot.

Enjoy!

So this is a smaller Walmart, when I got here at 10:30 there was no one else parked near the pharm which made me nervous. But no issues, and woke up to 2 more vans parked nearby.
FYI park away from the main road, this is also a school bus stop around 7 am

Bolivia to Argentina :

We are french with a Chilean car and everything went fine. Their is a first stop for the aduana of Argentina just after the bridge, and as we had all our stuff tied up in the van and not in bags, they lead us until the border where there is a big scanner for vehicle. All the staff was super nice, they even gave us mango !

After we did all the proceed in the building on the right of the street, very easily, and everybody was so nice.

Have a nice trip everyone !

A little garbage but not too bad.

Kind of funny, the first time this has ever happened the three silly folks in the two sprinters and the trailer in the pictures below decided that they were upset that I was camping on the spot which can easily handle 10 to 12 RVs.

I pointed out to them that this was public land and that lots of locals would be coming here as well so they should probably relax. I was right. couple of motorcycles game ripping through and at least four cars of locals came and went, but just the normal hangout for a half hour and leave no parties.

Great soul coverage, little glass, if you go too far towards the abandoned houses it's deep sand, so be careful.

but if you stay around the hut, then it's totally cool

I had a great time here. When I arrived my van had just showed a red light on my dashboard. But thanks to the help of Frans a mevanic came to the campsite and fixed it.
I could spent the rest of my day snorkeling in the wonderful bay.
In the evening baby turtles were running to the sea! Amazing to experience!
But what I liked most was hanging out with the other Overlanders on the campsite. So nice to share plans and experiences.

Description: At the end of a dirt road you will find a peacefull spot on the beach.
Dirt road is very bumpy for 20/30m but doable with 2wd.
Big rigs: You have to turn you vehicle around on this road, so make sure you can do this.
Tents: The dirt road is flat at parts but stony surface.
Note: Locals enjoy the beach and might play music.
There is a trash bin where the paved road turns to dirt.

Great beautiful site if you take a broad side gravel path about 250 meter into a small canyon opposit the river. You can camp in the side canyon which is really great. A nice guy from the electrical company stopped by and told us that if it would rain we have to leave because this canyon can flood. Since it hardly rains here in summer that should not be a problem but just be aware.

Stayed one night here for 40 BOB. Secure parking for motorcycles and larger vehicles across the street. Very clean and lots of other nice backpackers. Kitchen is small but sufficient to make basic meals. Rooftop has a good place to do some laundry. There are some really beautiful hikes in the area. Bar across the street has nothing but good vibes.
