Free wifi, runs all night long. I often stop here and sleep overnight. Can do updates and downloads while traveling. Nice area, nothing sketchy. Lowe’s supports overnight parking as long as you leave by opening time.

In the same complex, the Shell station on the other side of Discount Tire has water connections for RVs on the two outside lanes. The water connections by the sidewalk are padlocked and not in service.

amazing place to tent camp! pulled in about 10:30pm and walked across the tracks then set up a tiny tent among the trees. the view in the morning over the cliffs was absolutely breathtaking. felt safe at night, saw other cars in the lot and one other camper in the distance with her light on. no one bothered us and didn’t have any problems

We stayed here two nights for free (a local who lived right outside of the campsite told us we could stay no problem) since the gates were open.
A couple of people stayed just for lunch or a stroll by the lake and left.

The didn’t see the park ranger in those two days.

Absolutely beautiful place, even if it’s just for a day visit.

Bathrooms were closed, but we used the sinks for doing dishes.

First up: Take another route. There is a new mine which is strongly supervised from guys with machine guns.

The guys themselves were nevertheless friendly and let us pass but also said that usually they don‘t let people pass. If possible, take another route to avoid being in a possibly dangerous situation.

Arrived there around 10pm, almost all the spot taken by cars, Rv, motor home and trailers. We managed to find a spot. It’s very busy, but we slept very well surprisingly. Left at 8 am to find some restrooms, that we find in the Walmart near by. I would definitely sleep here again, but would come early to find a good spot!

The restaurant staff advised us to sleep behind their fence.
They asked nothing in return.
We could enjoy the sunset !

Amazing place to eat lunch, grab coffee (or any other drinks) and all kinds of sweets.
They do one of the best burgers I’ve had in Africa.
You can get for lunch soups, meat, fish or salad…
Best handmade juices right here !
Management are amazing people and the staff is great.

They are sharing the space with the trentyre workshop.

The owner was very friendly and happy to welcome Overlanders. It's a nice place with clean bathroom and kitchen and an amazing view. We paid 30 S/night for two people in a truck camper.

NFS public camping. Multiple camping spots along the forest road. 14day limit/30days.

Paved road turns into dirt, which means it is rough rocks in some spots. We had no issue finding a large enough site for our 38ft skoolie or navigating the road in our minivan.

There is a restroom at the entry area and it is marked no camping there. No other amenities, pack-in/pack-out.

As described it’s not prohibited to stay overnight here (but the pullouts at 35 direction Castle Rock Park are well signed with „No Parking between sunset and 6 am). Night was quiet and no one bothered us. Traffic in the morning noisy.

Amazing private and secluded camp! Peter and Trisha are fantastic hosts. We camped in a very shaded area with great views of the surrounding area. They are many animals wondering about, including a resident leopard that you may be lucky enough to see. Awesome hot outdoor shower with firewood provided nightly at a very reasonable cost. Camping is 1500 shillings pp and the pool is beautiful. We came to stay one night and ended up staying three. Say hi to Kip for us!

*Make sure to call before you arrive to make a reservation. It is a private camp with a locked gate.

We would definitely return.

Arrived on Mothers Day and I’ll bet there were 200 people here. By nightfall everyone had cleared out and shared the space with Canadian, Swiss/English and Colombian travelers. 6 rigs total. All great people. Very quiet night. Monday came and there were very few people around even though an Ecuadorian holiday. Flush toilets, restaurants and ok Wi-Fi. 3 bars of 3g. Flat, big rig and dog friendly.

Google maps sent me to a locked gate. Put the place in after and it directed me to an open road 3kms away. I’d map it again from Loja where you will have good service.

Free. Tranquilo. Would stay again.

As described by others - overnight parking on the lower, bus parking lot. Flat and bathrooms close by. We paid 50 Pesos for camping and had a quiet night. We did a first hike up to the Mirador on the afternoon we arrived and a second one then to the top of the waterfalls the next morning. Each time we had a nice swim afterwards to cool us down. Beautiful place and definitely worth a stop.

Very nice quiet park, well maintained with picnic tables, dry toilet, big gazebo, children's playground, trail 1/2 km that joins another car park, several parking spaces, nice little bridge to cross the river. Spent two quiet nights here in off season. Such a beautiful sunrise and nice trails around to do a little hiking nearby. It's fishing season so surfing is only allowed in Canto Norte (Northside of the beach). If the waves are bigger and you get lucky like I did, the fishermen will open the Rosa do Sul for surfing as well!
