A gorgeous hacienda with well-appointed rooms with and a lovely dining room, all with large windows.

The rooms are not cheap - dorms start at $29-35 and go up from there.

More attractive for budget travellers would be the camping option, a couple of hundred metres away with views of Cotopaxi. Camping is $12.20

There is a restaurant with good (but again, above budget prices) meals. Mains are $12-14, and full dinner is $20

Still ok, crowded but huge, you can find a more or less quiet place. The good thing is that people don't pick-nick here, so the noise is just from cars passing by. We slept better here than on the beach/corniche.

The park is open year round but showers are only seasonal. I contact the park caretakers and they confirmed showers are closed until camping season starts. The co-op in Quesnel is best spot for a free shower

Sanitary block at the entrance of the Headquarters campground (coordinates may not be super accurate though). There's a tap outside by the door where you can refill your jugs. The lady at the reception told us we could use it or the inside sinks (laundry section) that should be pretty deep. We were simply visiting the park and not staying at the campground. There are also indoor toilets and big garbage bins outside for your waste & recyclables!

A beautiful camp site with lots of Ghaf trees for shade and views of the dunes and far off mountains amongst local camel farms. No facilities are available and 4x4 is recommended due to some soft sand tracks to get there. Supermarkets close by for supplies.

Wonderful river CP with an established table, benches, easy river access. it is obviously used by the community but no signs delineating trespassing or private property and not gated. coming from the south, on the east side of the river, there is a double track leading left along the river before the main gravel road begins to climb. Follow the double track then follow a foot path that continues around the river shore to this wonderful spot. Leave no trace as always. If you see locals ask permission. it is obviously a frequented and well maintained spot. Hello in Mapuche/Mapuzugun is "Mari Mari" :)

A little road around the fortress. 4x4 not needed. Quiet. River is not suitable to drink but still nice. Try to climb over a fortress hill to have adventures. Magti 4G works but slow.

there are 3 caves one at the entrance, where everyone goes to. For the 2nd one you have to hike 20 minutes to it, but it is totally worth it is way more amazing than the first touristy one. the 3rd one is prohibited to enter (also didn't found the entrance)

Very good place to sleep, but the way to go is very narrow only for one camper 4wd , van or pickup with campbox.
PAY ATTANTION that your vehicle has enough power to go up the slope, in case of rain or snow the 4x4 is highly recommended.

Just asked permission to overnight. Said we would leave early morning but got turned away… no overnight this time

The place is called Brand se Baai. In season, the sites are full but there are plenty of spots that are not marked. I get MTN and a very weak Vodacom when I'm standing in the right spot.

Your average rest stop with rest rooms, vending machines, and picnic tables. Spots for small vehicles or RV/campers. It is next to the highway so it is noisy with traffic.

We are the last visitors for the season. It is advisable to check with Nacho before arriving.
There is also parking for several trucks. There is also the option of connecting to electricity.

I came here for a shower, still for $2.50 per adult. As was said, in the lodge cross the street ask at the front desk. Can't complain, hot shower after 4 days = paradise.

A wonderful place to spend the night. The view of the lake is priceless. The host is incredibly nice. There are chickens and a cat running around the site. Great!

Tight fit RV campground but great location and amenities! We enjoyed our stay for one night and will be back when coming back north!

Be prepared on the weekends for the town square to be loud and popping! Music dwindled down around 10:30pm.

Great place to stay if you don’t mind the noise. Freeway is very loud and workers are here all hours of the night. Sweeper passes around 2am. Security is here all night and cameras all around the parking structure. Overall it is a great place to stay for a night. Definitely recommend!

Here really is a Döner-Laden 🤩! They just opened one month ago and people are really really nice! The Döner-Meat is really good and self-made!

They put meat, salad, tomatoes, onions and really nice self-made sauces in it.

Totally recommended, also if it is not 100% like a german Döner but it comes quite near! And if you did not have one in a long time… soooo delicious!

Nice spot directly next to the bay of the mead lake. The road is little bit bumpy! Better with 4x4 but 2x4 is ok if you go slowly! Fire ring on spot! Beach on spot! I have a truck camper GMC 3500 duelly 4x4. I did not use 4x4 to came here! 3 bars 5G.

Beautiful, quiet and comfy spot in the middle of the river bed.
You access it by a dirt road that goes out the main road. Only ok for 4wd!!
I guess all the river bed might be under water in rainy season. In dry season some water runs in the river (I was in the end of March) and is drinkable (unless you have a very fragile stomach I guess).
There is plenty of flat space for campervan.

Beautiful view! Rocky road. The road was fairly smooth until the last bit but fortunately I trust my Falken Wildpeaks & my Transit 250 did just fine...my neck not so much lol. Very good signal, plenty of level spots & fire pits. Alot of off-roaders buzzing around but it didn't bother me & they dipped before sunset so a very peaceful night's rest

Next to the fire road, flat Grassy spot for two vehicles. Just enough room to turn around. Road here was chunky, clearance would be best, 4wd helped but is not necessary.
