We stayed here for 5 nights, travelling back & forth to Bogota a few times. If you message Ana ahead of time she will get back to you quickly, she was so warm and welcoming, although we never met in person. We were able to go in and out of the locked gate whenever we needed. The bathroom and shower was clean, the common kitchen area was handy. We have not met up with many overlanders on our travels but we met a few at this place. They do not have a set price but ask for a donation, we gave 50K/night for 2 people and a camper.

Same price, lots of bugs, some snails(it was raining night before), fake nail on the floor. .I felt itchy most of the night. I guess you get what you pay for.

We stayed here a couple of nights because I got sick and just wanted to have my own room with no one around. We paid 15 million Rial for the double room, including good breakfast. The staff was super nice and really helpful. They help you order food if necessary. No wifi unfortunately. The hotel is old but clean. They have a big parking lot. We could even put our 2 motorcycles into the garage.

La Bolivianita campsite is a beautiful place next to the river and surrounded by peaks, which makes you feel the nature over your head.
José Luis is an ideal host and an adventurer by nature. We walked with him and received the best treatment and recommendations, as well as an exclusive walk to the Andes at sunrise. I recommend the place and José Luis to all travellers who pass by!

Great place as others said super clean and great showers. Owners of the various casitas are very nice and welcoming. I think the rv park subsidizes their HOA.

Great spot for the night. Nice size lake and park for the dog to run around in. Designated overnight parking. Plenty of restaurants in the area. Very little cell signal.

All along the highway (on the side that's not the river) there are pullouts that are big rig friendly. I didn't stay (saw them on my way home, unfortunately!) but I had cell service driving by and there were very few other cars on the road so I have to imagine they'd be pretty quiet. The GPS coordinates I'm linking are for one pullout but there are several. Drive slow down this road and pick your favorite one!

Great place, fortunately not vandalised like the ones closer to Porvenir. Only the table and the stove are missing, and the stinky toilet is out of service. Keep the door closed to avoid odours. Windows can be opened to ventilate a bit. We slept with 4 people that night, two people upstairs and two downstairs.

Lovely family living in a farm “Rancho El Centenario”, 39km East of Guerrero Negro who want to host more cyclists. They have a big garden to pitch up tents. They don’t speak english, but they do their best and are very welcoming.

No internet, access to toilets and a sink, there is a shower we haven’t used, access to a plug to charge things, can be windy at night.

Found the Refugio in good condition. The pit toilet was clean and in a usable state. I used the small bench to make the access to the top platform easier. Calm and refreshing night before a long day to Rio Grande.

Parked near playground and baseball diamond. Worked ok. Lot gets super busy on weekends. The dirt spots mentioned didn’t seem possible now.

We really liked our visit here. We spent the day at the platform and saw 14 wild gorillas. We saw them early in the morning (6:30 am) and some silverbacks came back in the afternoon. We didn’t spent the night at the camp, but it looks very nice so if you have the time and are able to make the booking I would recommend.

For visiting the Baï (daytrip) it’s 30.000 CFA pp. Make sure you book 3-4 days in advance.
They can also arrange boat trips, but arrangements cost a little more time so make sure to email them +-2 weeks before you arrive.

Also, the deck is very small so they don’t host multiple groups at the same time. So do your booking in advance to make sure they have space.

Bref, mauvais plan !

EN : We slept there one night because we couldn't find anything better, and when we arrived super late in El Calafate, we were stressed all night, fearing that the police might come because the area is now off-limits to campers. We had to break camp super early to avoid the police. They came by after we'd finished setting up camp, we were lucky. In short, a bad plan!

Worth staying here and getting to Sossusvlei ahead of the crowds. Nice pool and areas to cool down during the day. Campsites had decent shade but the sand can get quite bad in afternoon winds, thyre fairly exposed. Ablutions were clean and in good order. We were here over a long weekend and a few people had fuel issues as the local garage was out of diesel. Ice was also difficult to get as the town couldn't keep up with the demand.

You can check whether the road is open at the tourist info in Villa Peheunia. In the dry the road is easy, if it rains you need to take it slow and steady. We did it easily after a night of rain in our back wheel drive Ford E150 van staying at around 50km per hour but she needed a good wash by the time we got to Zapala. The road is tarmac from Primeros Pinos.
