Free day use at the campground which includes restroom and shower. We came mid week in shoulder season and it was very quiet. The camp host asked if we were camping or just passing through. She said day use is free but they ask for a donation if you stay a while.

Turning in if you're heading north takes some care as there's no turning lane and you need to cross a double yellow line.

Not sure if it's worth it to come up here as it's a ways from the main road, but if you're in a pinch, I guess it will do. Starting to get overgrown on one side. Must have been graded recently as potholes are very manageable. No where to turn around for a big rig. Fire rings are gone.

There's now a working credit card machine to purchase passes. Also, flush toilets and sinks are open.

Paid 20 soles. Very basic, not so clean (I slept in my sleeping bag) but suicidal electric shower was hot (only one working, at women bathroom) and the inner courtyard is good to make some bicycle cleaning after a day on the mud

camped at chambers pass. reg price $50/nt. sr price $32. no fires, no swimming, need $5 fish permit per day. all private campgrounds by the lake. rv sites have power/water. this place has a small store, cabins and a condo. i guess most people reserve but having never been here we didn’t know and there were about 10 sites available between this campground and lone pine.
nice playground for the kiddos.

Really nice Love's with several RV spots. There are "no overnight" parking signs, but multiple people in various vehicles stayed. McDonald's and Subway, laundry, showers.

Small restaurant along a route without a lot of other options. They have a dining area but will also make food to-go.

I got empanadas and they were quite good. Also small. You'll need six or eight per person (or more if you eat a lot).

Also has a selection of drinks, including beer.

Super nice place! Clean bathroom, hot shower (almost better than my own place), wifi that works pretty well, little dog park! We paid about 55$ with tx for full hookup for 1 night.

Not the cleaness spot in the world. No view… just few spot to park aside of the gravel road.

The ditch on the side of the road look a bit like a open dump. You can find empty weapon cartridge on the ground and maybe you will ear some local practice with those firearm, at the very end of the road.

But dont worry, local dont want to have any buisness with you and nobody will tell you to leave the place.

It is a quiet place but I will not send someone with a 200 000$ camper go camping in this place without him being aware of those fact mention above.

Quite dead end road, lots of bikers 49.16841, -123.94828

It's a beautiful place indeed but when we were there (Friday) there were also a lot of locals having pick-nick, therefore it's very polluted (trash everywhere) and noisy. Try to go there during the week if you can.
If coming from south you must go through Samarra and the guards at the check point kept our passports so we had to go back instead of going directly to Tikrit from here.

Here they kept our passports to be sure we came back after visiting Abu Dulaf minaret. We told them we wanted to continue to Tikrit (we were coming from Baghdad) but they wouldn't let us go directly from the minaret on the other road. Very friendly and nice people but inflexible.
