We stopped here for the night. The place is flat and the view on the mountains incredible! Close to the path there is a little stream with clear water. This place is far enough of house to be quiet. No one come to disturb us or ask money.

We don't stop here for the night, but the area is really nice. It is a grassy area close to the river and the view is wonderful! This place is far enough of house to be quiet. To be test but I think it's a perfect place to stop for the night.

Here is the only place on Ausangate circuit where you will get Claro signal. The signal is not very strong but enough to give and get some news.

I confirmed with the police at 1am that you cannot stay here legally over night. It is a public park which closes at 10pm.
I woke up and was totally surrounded by police cars. I watched for a bit and they didn't seem interested in me at all but I got out and asked what was going on. Saw a guy that had been drinking at the hot springs (I walked down earlier) being put into the back of a police truck.
The officer I spoke with was very nice but didn't seem to care about me and mentioned it was illegal but they "usually" don't bother with people staying there overnight if they aren't causing problems. I left as it was loud and bright but pretty sure another vandweller in a blacked out van slept through it all!
So stay here at your own risk!

Have stayed here many times and for many nights in a row. Big lot in pacifica right at the beach, easy spot for over night. You will encounter many people and surfers in this lot. It is paid parking from 8am-8pm so just be aware. There are bathrooms here, but they do close at 8pm. The lot is close to the Taco Bell Cantina and that is open till midnight so I have used their bathrooms before. The downside to this spot is that it is right along hwy 1 and has a lot of car noise. So if you are a light sleeper keep that in mind because the cars don't really stop throughout the night.

We spent a night there. Felt safe. It is somehow quiet at night as traffic lowers in the evening. The park is really nice, you can see capybaras.

Lovely owners, friendly and always ready to help you with whatever information you might need. Even showed us around in their vegetable garden. Very clean bathroom and a shower with hot water. Potable water in the kitchen. Easy to get to the city center either by collectivo (2soles) or by taxi (~15soles). We would have loved to stay longer!

Went here for dinner and absolutely loved the food. Good selection of Peruvian dishes. Staff is friendly, but a bit slow. Make sure to get a Pisco Sour! ;-)

Wild camp site for multiple tents, several terraces next to the path, but ground not fully flat. Easy access from the road. Extremely noisy (water). Not hidden. Few mosquitos. Access to a natural swimming pool (for an ice shower). Good 4G. Leave the place clean!

Five stars plus! A must stop! Everything is true what’s already written. We could buy a delicious homemade brown bread (the best so far while travelling 6 months), very nice jams, excellent dates and good meat. We paid 270 ppn.

Beautiful spot in Fishlake National Forest. Road even and flat for our RV. Lots of trees and fire ring spots. Don’t go under the bridge (underpass of I-70) because the road gets pretty rough. Not very busy.

Stayed here for a few nights out of desperation with truck issues. No overnight parking signs but thankfully nobody kicked us out. Busy during the day, but at night nobody can see you from the road and it’s empty.

We arrived at night. In the morning a group of three cholita ladies wearing blue helmets and blowing whistles came to ask who we are and checked our ID documents. They were part of a neighborhood watch and they were very polite, they were just worried because many people stay here, always in a white van.
A few minutes later, a less polite old man wearing suit came blowing a whistle and said he was a community authority. He checked our intentions there, commented about criminal foreigners and preached about god.
Besides of these weird situations we had two quiet nights.

We stayed here for two gets, it was safe (gate closed at night and security guard on all night), cheap (4K for as many nights as you want), flat, quiet and well in a great location, with clean bathrooms available all night. If you want to see Las Lajas in the day or at night(the lights are spectacular) this is a great option.

Great spot! Scenic and empty when we arrived. 50 trucks there when we woke up lol. But it was dark and quiet and no one bothered us. Loved this place.

A great, free campground. There was lots of road construction when I went through, but the campground was still open. Free for me as I didn’t use hook ups. Excellent views of the lake. A thunderstorm rolled right on top of us overnight and you could watch the lightning not too far off in the distance. A great stop over option when passing through the TX panhandle. And hot showers!

Campsites all had covered picnic tables & their own fire pits. I found a ton of trash around my site so I spent a bunch of time picking that up (leave it better than you found it!) Please be respectful and keep this place clean so they will keep it open & free!

Free, hot showers at the campground! Not he nicest I’ve ever used, but they are free. There are 4 completely private bathroom/shower stalls in the middle of the campground. It takes a minute for the hot water to come, but when it does she is hot!
