The business has failed during Covid. The campground is abandoned, but the gate is open. A local told me it's o.k. to pitch my tent here. No facilities of course.
Edit 16 May: WARNING After returning from a dayride my tent was missing, plus the sleeping mat and sleeping bag. Luckily I had taken everything else. Don't leave things unattended at this location!

As described. Free hot/clean showers. Only complaint is that the shower curtains only cover 75% of the opening.

Free drinkable water by the dump! Confirmed with local team, make sure to use your own hose and not mess up your sanitary situation as the spigot is also used for cleaning up after dumping (not long hose needed)

Big parking lot of Lowe's and others places, very quiet and free.
I parked close to other trucks, it seems like a safe place.

Beautiful, large, quiet spot. Its currently may and its lush and green. Not a single other car drove by during my time here. Wildlife abundant as well. No service with Verizon. Established fire pit.

I think the original poster got lucky here. you're literally in an affluent neighborhood, so if anything you're hiding in plain sight. I'm probably surrounded by half a million dollar homes and a marina to the north. I wouldn't waste your time giving it a go. I know I'm not. I'm going to keep moving south. kind of a bummer because I'm tired but I'm going that way anyway.

Found this spot via SpotAngels. Plenty of parking on multiple streets nearby that are 24/7 but with a limit of 72hrs.

The beach/boardwalk is less than a block away with restrooms.

Quite a few spots on this street & they are fairly level as well.

So far pretty quiet. I also have full signal ATT & T-Mobile.

Camp spots around a reservoir, great views, a couple campsites available. I didn’t go around the lake but it seems like 5-6 spots at least with very large spots to park, definitely accessible for all rigs. Multiple rigs can park at each spot. It was quiet, no one here which is really nice. People on a different app were saying the mosquitoes were terrible, I didn’t notice any bugs AT ALL but I know weather and time of year impacts that. 3-4 bars Verizon LTE

10k with fan. Been in worse. Yes parking directly outside room which was nice. Otherwise room with aged stained but seemingly clean sheets, cracked bathroom with leaky faucet. On the equator, near a river but no mosquito nets on the windows or bed? Come on now…

Two nights at glade creek. Amazing campground quite secluded and not a lot of sunlight due to dense foliage. Beautiful views of the river and great birding

What gorgeous spot! 360 degree views. There are a couple of deep ruts on the way up. High clearance vehicle would be best (hope I get out with my 2WD—it rained overnight and the path is muddy).

There is absolutely no trash whatsoever. Let’s hope it stays that way. I was the only one up here in mid-May. The freeway is far enough away that it won’t bother you. In some spots, the hillsides block the freeway partially.

The way in is exactly as described. Make the first possible left dirt road on Reno—About 1 mile from the freeway.

Edit: in fact, did not make it up the insignificant incline. It rained overnight and the road (more like a trail) got muddy and as slippery as ice. My 2WD Sprinter Van simply slipped into the deep ruts. Damn, I’m afraid I made the ruts even deeper now. I was resigned to have to call off-road recovery but made another attempt later in the day after the sun dried the top layer of the mud. For some miracle reason I made it out. Because I had nothing better to do all day, I shoveled dirt into the ruts to make up for my mess but I’m sure I chewed it up again on the way out.

Elinam, thank you very much for your comments. But it is important that you know that we as a campsite have no idea about the work that the government does. Surely, in Europe it is like that. but from this side of the planet they don't report anything! and we have no way of knowing. It is also important to note that they were finally able to leave on the 13th due to my management with the company. Additionally, I am very sorry that the laundry did not meet your expectations. since it is a free service of the campsite. Have a nice trip and thanks for coming.

It’s a bit more than 1$/h now (we paid 4$ for 3 hours) but still a very cheap rate compared to parkings around. Be careful, we re talking about the street parking on 7th avenue SE, and not the adjacent parking lots which are much more expensive (we made the mistake at the beginning).

Great deal to explore downtown !

We stopped in at this place and checked it out. There is very limited parking so when the locals come out and want to sit on the beach, it is difficult for everyone to fit at this dead end. We decided it did not make sense for us to stay there so we left.

Not loud but not quiet, just depends on how many trucks are parked there overnight. I honestly like the engine noise so it was never a problem for me. Car parking was empty overnight, but please don't be the van I saw this morning parked in truck parking when it was full and car parking is empty.
