stayed a few nights, very quiet very safe. have a very stealth rig though and a neighbor called the cops suspecting I was a burglary crew. state troopers came, knocked and checked out the van before leaving me alone. good spot in general.

Huge gravel site, flat and plenty of space. Slightly seen from Hwy 1. Easy access, fits also for big rigs. Solid ground, even when wet. Good to stay for one night.

Water fountain with standard hose bib with hose threads. Need 25ft hose and to park along entrance to dog park parking lot.

Nice clearing with fire ring at the end of a dirt road. Very secluded and peaceful. No other visitors for the entire day.

Nice big campsite. Hot water with a donkey but make sure you have xtra wood for this as the wood that they provide is not enough to heat the donkey. Also note that you cannot walk to the restaurant/bar after dark without a security escort. For this you need to organize beforehand as the signal is very weak and its almost impossible to phone the emergency number. The animals that drink at the main waterhole can only be seen from the main area and campsite 1. So be sure to ask for this otherwise you will only hear them. paid N$284pppn

The red house. Restaurant and small supermarket. Very good and simple. Menu has 3000 cps (soup and main course). Coffee has 1000 cps, tea has 500 cps, bread has 500 cps. Cookie, bread and soda available

A beautiful view on the Isluga volcano. Several flat space to put the tent. The terrain is a bit sandy, with wind at the end of the day. Close to the road, but hidden from the seen at night. Not accessible by car or truck. NB, We're on a bike trip

Trailhead parking/camping in lower lot and large grassy lot up the hill with 5 fire rings. Nice views of the forest and mountains

This place is closed. They don't answer phones. They moved to somewhere but I don't know exactly the location.

normally this is nothing I would put on ioverlander but because thee is really nothing here:
flat spot next to the road with a bit of wind protection. ok to stop for lunch (with a bike) and could be an emergency camp aite. it's flat, thee are stones to build walls if needed but it's really only 3 m away from the road

Great place for a cooking class. Says 2h, our class took 3+ hours. 5 students and 5 employees (Cooks Magaly and Marco, 2 kitchen helpers, 1 bar lady for the pisco making). You roll out because of all the food you will eat. Veggie options too. 80 soles for cooking class & food & receipes & fotos taken during class by whatsapp (starter, main & pisco). Registration easy by Whatsapp, starts at 10pm, speak Spanish, bit English and French.

This is a great stop. Beautiful sunset. Drove half way up the steep 2 track road to a flat area with trees. No one in sight. Road noise until 8 pm. Airtel signal on and off but off thoughout the night

Beautiful spot on the beach! We got in around 2am. We did purchase a beach access pass ($12) but didn’t have anyone check on it. Right near the entrance there were toilets and plenty of places for trash. Beautiful sunrise!

It's a local family lot, easy access, 30q. for 24hs, we parked our van here while doing the acatenango hike by ourselves. There is no roof but is a safe place.

The Top of Crow Head was like living in a penthouse. Three other RVs were camped below us. The views were spectacular as were the hiking trails in the area around the lighthouse.

Ruins are still there… ;-) Entrance fee is now 30 TJS pp.

Great, quiet place, we stayed here for four nights. Nobody bothered us, on the contrary, we almost felt like we were part of the group. You should definitely eat at the beach bar! Delicious food. At the weekend the beach was full of...

Nice place. Not to easy to access with bike

A great place to work if you have a remote job or just need a quiet place with WiFi and plenty of work areas. It has the main room where you order, and a back room with a quieter space (pictured below) The coffee and food is good too!

This place is perfect for resting a few days on the Great Divide. We stayed three nights to recover from a stomach ache. To access this place use the gravel road which comes down from Vischongo (or turn right just before the bridge using the paved road from Vishongo). About 200 meters before (or after) the junction, there is a smaller gravel road which leads a little bit down to a gate. Just before the gate, there is a steep trail leading down to the river. Going up and down is difficult especially with heavy bikes, so be careful and maybe dismount some bags. We built a fire pit and enjoyed some nice evenings here. The river is quiet clean so definitely good for a bath and filtering. Grocery’s and everything you need is available in Vishongo just 10-15 minutes by foot. Only downside is, that it is a little colder in the morning because the sun reaches this place quiet late and there is a lot of shade, but if you’re coming from much higher, this shouldn’t be a problem either. The place is not completely hidden from the mainroad, but wasn’t a problem for us. On the second day some fishermen came by but didn’t bother us. Sometimes a lady brings her cows, which are roped on at a “terrace” above this place, but she was really friendly as well and did not care about us or our fire. Claro 4G reception as well, but you should turn off your phone here and just enjoy this beautiful spot!

Best fish and chips in the whole world. Giant order of Rockfish for under $14. Lingcod for under $16. Great fries. Excellent clam chowder. Counter service upstairs with a view towards the water. Love this place.

Nice spot. Didn't spend the night here, but seems like a perfect spot to do so. We just drove in to walk up to the top. First mile is gravel, then it becomes dusty, but still solid enough to drive with a normal 2WD. After the wooden fence it gets more uneven and rocky, and there's less room to park or turn, so we parked there and walked up (about 1 hour) from there. With high clearance 4WD you could continue further. Bring plenty of water.
