Pretty quiet empty parking lot. Some kids were a little loud near us at about 1-2am but really wasn’t bad. Good place to sleep near Niagara but still far enough away it’s peaceful

I spent 2 days here, good campsite but very rustic and basic, the good is the river has water and the good kitchen, but the campsites don't have energy, and if there are too many people you can't use the wifi, 150 ppp, I think it's expensive for the services but ok.

Attention: They want to have 160N$ for the Park maps. The official price is 72N$.
Rest is OK.

this is a free street parking place to hike 45 minutes to the famous durdle door. the two othet official parking lots costs 30£ (wtf), so we parked here for free and walked a bit instead

When you pass the tents you will arrive to a checkpoint and apparently it is forbidden to stay overnight any closer to the lake.

A little before this checkpoint, if you turn left and pass all the tents you can reach the beginning of a small track (32.44983° 77.60987°).

If you follow this track you will reach this amazing hidden spot perfect for one or more nights.

Très beaux terrains pour s'installer avec son petit VR/ Van.

Tons of spaces for tents - can take the grassy road on east side of river back as far as you like. Not visible from main road. I used the stream water to cook
with.

Do be prepared for the cold air to settle in the bottom of the valley in the night - it gets cold.

Also, I asked some local boys and they said it wasn’t private property and camping was fine.

Dispersed camping near 11 mile reservoir. Numerous sites for tent, RV, big rig, etc.
Flat sites with rock fire rings.
On the weekends the sites fill up fast. I went on a Friday and found the last site.

Lots of simple practical spots, pull outs beside creek. Most big enough for 1 or 2 vehicles. Some might fit larger rigs. Popular spot for quads and dirt bikes. Quiet dirt road, but quads bombing around .

Gambia to Senegal
Unpaved border crossing but fine for 2wd, there is only a post at Senegal side, we got our Gambia departure stamp at the immigration office near Wassu.

Very easy stamp into Senegal the guy also writes car details and licence number in a book. A different guy makes the passavant, needs licence, cart gris and insurance card. Valid for 10 days and cost is 5000 CFA with receipt.

Road immigration checkpoint, there are a couple along this road they check your arrival stamp and ask a few questions.

Today we passed and told them we intended to cross Njoben border to Senegal and they called the boss to give us our departure stamps, helpful as there is no Gambia immigration office at the Njoben border

We wanted to stay here but the access road was next to the gendarmerie and they were watching us so we decided to drive on. There's a lot of sand around so not great for off roading with a 2wd. We found a place to sleep 20km further north

Coming into the city there is a stop sign at the road junction, which we stoped at, a police officer saw us and blew his whistle signaling us to come to him. We were confused for a few seconds and then drove over. He asked for all the documents and then said something in french about the stop sign which confused us even more.

He kept the licence, walked away for a few minutes, then came back and started writing us a ticket. I spoke to him in English which made him angry because he didn't understand English. I wrote in Google translate that we saw the stop sign and stoped, so I don't know what the problem is. He then stoped writing, gave back the licence and walked away.

Very strange experience? He didn't ask for a bribe so I don't understand what he was doing it for

Great stay overnight for free. Swimming area and launch dock. Open field camping from tent to giant rig. Grass area is flat but full of burrs.

El lugar abre sus puertas a las 08:00am, y las cierra a las 23:30hs.
Tuvimos la suerte de que haya otro motor home, lo que, obviamente, nos da más tranquilidad.

Amazing place in Perito Moreno. 30k for a couple + child. Close to supermarket and gas. Perfect place to stay overnight

Such a great vibe, beautiful beach, quiet forested campground next to an enchanted beach. Stayed three nights. Payment is cash or check only for walk up sites. Slept to the sounds of the ocean in spot 34. No showers on the campgrounds, but my site had electricity and water.

The signs say park is open from dawn to dusk, but no “no overnight parking” signs in the lot. Sun set after 9pm, slept here with no problems. Backed up against the forest and listening to the ocean waves all night. Beautiful trails leading to cliff views of spectacular coastline. 3 bars on tmobil. One other overnight vehicle (also solo woman with a dog). Near the lot is some picnic tables and a porta-potty. The town of Port Orford is cute, had fish and chips at The Crazy Norwegian last night and it was really good. Keep it clean and low profile.

This is NOT a free campsite. $15 a night. There is absolutely no cell service as of June 23, 2024. We were in SOS mode in the campground and throughout the entire canyon towards Stanley. So I am not sure why so many people said they had service. Really nice campground right on the river with easy access for fishing. 3 pit toilets, trash service, and drinkable water stations. This site was beautiful. Really packed when we rolled in on a Sunday night, got the last campsite, and most spots had reserved signs on them.

First of all, you gotta know that to get to Santa Isabel you will have to climb almost 300m D+, whichever is your direction on the main road. But the stop is, to me, worth. That is a lovely little city, where you will find everything. 

Hostal Mirador is a very good address : clean, quiet, hot shower with good pression, good wifi. They have a big garage where I put my bicycle (I guess you could put a car or van). I paid 13 USD for a single bedroom with private bathroom. It also had a smart TV. Owners not very friendly but that really is the only negative comment I can do.

We were headed to a wild camp near Bouhedma from the east and traveling west. To do so we needed to pass near Orbata mountain and were turned away at a police checkpoint near the area due to terrorist occupation of mount Orbata.

We were told that Bouhedma national park was ok, but had our small children with us and opted to push through to a fancy hotel in Kairouan for beers by a pool (due to a lack of tent suitable, and safe, wild camps on our route)

google "Terrorists Orbata,Tunisia" for details and gauge your comfort level accordingly. we were admittedly risk intollerant on this one.

Pasamos 2 noches acá, muy buena gasolinera. Estacionamiento, árboles con sombra, grifo para cargar agua y duchas gratis. Los empleados son muy amables. La recomendamos!

just as everyone else says. This is an official rest area though no facilities. Just a parking area. there is a sign that says it is for truck parking so please do not take up their spaces, they are working, we are playing.

A small harbor in the nature reserve. You can see some animals like Caiman, Capybara and lots of birds. Boat tours and kayaking adventures start from here. It‘s worth it. Nearby is a nice 4,5 km walking track through the nature. There is enough space for overnight stays in the parking lot and on the access road, including for big trucks. The road from Concepcion is mainly solid sand. When it is dry, it is passable by any vehicle. After heavy rain, it could become muddy.

Great place. In the middle of nature. Enjoy the walk through the nature.

See nearby park office to pay $10 fee. Sani-dump plus 2 water taps. Would be slightly difficult for a big unit to access. No problem for our Class B. Nice facility.

Awesome! Is on a steep gravel road, but it wasn’t too bad! Just a little bumpy in areas. The spots were a good size and absolutely gorgeous with perfect stream access! All spots were accessible with 2WD high clearance, but to get further in away from the road you’d need 4WD. It does get a little bit more traffic than we expected but still a fairly quiet spot.

Cost of $12 for the campsite and $5 to enter big bend ranch state park (different from big bend national park). Gravel roads in the campsite. Lots of sand as well. If entering after the visitor centers close without a reservation, you can fill out a slip, stick it on your windshield, camp, and return to pay when the visitor centers open up (at least this works in the offseason when few people use the campgrounds. Not sure if this is possible in peak season and spots are all reserved).
