This donation campground is still available. I pulled in late on a Saturday night and the furthest lake spot was still available. Very nice area, safe, with beautiful views.

Pagamos R$50,00 pp pelo camping e visita à cachoeira, por sinal muito bonita.
O camping com chuveiro em apenas dois dos banheiros, água fria. Como chegamos num sábado à noite, os banheiros necessitavam limpeza.

Spent a Saturday night here, no issues. Rolled in before nightfall and the entire lot was full of off-roaders and a lot of noise. At night, had the lot to myself until a couple cars/RV’s crept in between 12-2am. Quiet, pit toilets, free (discover pass needed), great for an overnight stop. There are some trails for hiking, biking, off-roading if you’re so inclined. 4 bars AT&T LTE.

Safe and calm place to stay overnight. It can be noisy during the weekend (we spent the night on a Saturday) - families with children playing on the playground in the afternoon, and some young people talking until dawn, but nothing that bothered us too much. Water available, toilets closed during the pandemic situation (but the public toilets at the shopping center were open). Square with large grass ground for picnics and shaded parking lot.
Vivo 4G coverage available.

Incredible spot. Location is dead on with the coordinates. Room for 4 or 5 up to about 30ft. Or a couple of big rigs might fit. Turn is tight off the road. Ideally about 30' or less. Road is dirt and v good. Occasional mild washboard. Any RV, van etc could make it.
Spectacular scenery - a high vantage point that gives distant peaks for almost 360 degrees. One of the best spots yet.
Anyone who knows Dan - please thank him. Top Spot!

Bumpy and gravely road, landed at a nice spot with view. Minimal road noise from way below. Fire pit and tons of wood. Probably good for class C and under.
FS 290 also had a few spots back in the trees. Great tmobile sevice.

Very crowded with permanent trailers, but if you can find a spot (directly off the road is your best bet) the lake has beautiful sandy beaches.

I camped out here yesterday. If you go out as far as you can, you get full bars on Verizon. Only saw two other cars. Not too difficult to get in and out of. Absolutely stunning morning views. They have a bathroom if you go the furthest possible and they also have little covered areas for cooking and eating.

Large snowmobile parking lot next to Henderson Mine. It’s level, free, with no traffic and okay to overnight. It is acceptable for one night. Two bars of Verizon, so there’s that.

Nice little established campground around a little pond. $15/ night for RV w/o hookups and $20 with hookups. Very clean and not too many mosquitoes but a ton of gnats and mayflies. Nice little spot despite having to pay and lots of locals out camping here.

The senior center is on Hwy. 43, across the street to the east of grocery store. (Very nice store and fair prices for a small town). On that side of the building, facing the side street that goes between the center and the grocery, is a dump station. There is a can for donations. We went around back of the building to the right to go around and back to the front and the highway.

When we got here, there were three other RVs. The lake level is about 400 yards away. We walked out to the shore, but last 20 feet is quicksand. Appears almost abandoned. The flush toilet was locked up. We got 2 gallons of water from the hydrant and it dried up. Had to go around to other hydrants to get water. They also soon dried up. There weren't any envelopes at the self pay station. Posted price still $7 and half off for national passes.

Nice camp site with a lot of FCFS sites - bother water and electric and primitive. The majority of the sites have long drives for trailers and campers.

This is a campsite a long way away from all the trails and does have a lot of families and can’t get quite loud.

The best of if this camp area is you don’t have to pay to use the dump station at this area, or in the Chickasaw Recreation Area dump station. If you are passing through you can stop and dump and fill up with potable water.

The cellular connection here is bad. Coverage is non-existent of you are in the lower camp sites.

This spot is still here and the description is accurate, but directly across the river from it (~100 yd away) is another camp that appears to be a homeless camp of some kind with a ton of garbage. I'm not sure if it's still being used, but it seemed a little sketchy to be camping near.

2021 UPDATE:

A creek has washed out the road at the last quarter mile. No van in this world will make it without 4x4 and a lift. There is a 3 foot drop into the small creek to get across. We made it in our lifted Tacoma. but then bottomed out on the way out.

Many vans turned around at the creek when we arrived.

And I'll be honest , if you don't get this spot. There isn't a single campsite worth the drive out here. they are all in the woods with no views just woods. In my opinion.

happy camping! picked up a ton of beer cans!
