Numerous free sites as stated. Nobody else here on Summer Solstice 2021 even though town is packed with people. Easy access with 2WD. Trees and shade abound.

This is a Pueblo Magico. The park to camp at is where you get the boats to go see the Christ on the island. Huge parking lot, on the lake, bathrooms are 5 pesos and lots of little restaurants and Tiendas. Great spot. I paid 35 pesos for one night on my camper van

When taking your turn off of CA-44W, be sure to drive up that dirt road going straight for quite a while... nearly 1km. other person who went here said it was a left, but it's truly a right off that main gravel road into another dirt road. it's where there is no other option except a right hand turn (no left or fork). then meander down that road a few minutes and you will be at this amazingly secluded and perfect sunset spot. highly recommend you get here if you can, but beware big rigs... it's got some trees that have been cut through and are difficult to move for wider rigs... clearance is not the issue, nor is 4wd necessary, but we made it in our F150 with our 6'x10' tiny home being pulled. not the most turn around room, but we managed. this spot is definitely in my top 3 of all-time favorite boondocking spots. signal was just fine with AT&T, sunset speaks for itself in the photos, and the birds/views in the morning were lovely. GO HERE if you can! take care of it though.

Small town park with FREE camping. 2 gravel pads for any size vehicle. Potential for more on the grass. Water and electricity. Picnic tables. Playground for kids, diner at the edge of the park. Pool with hot showers as well. Near the road but quiet enough at night. Only a few trees for shade at the camp spots. 2 bars ATT.

This seems to be the cheapest place in town at 400 pesos inc. aire conditioning and private bathroom. The other two hotels on the main road seem like a rip off. We tried sleeping in our van along the malecón but the heat along with the mosquitos made it impossible so we treated ourselves to a night in here.

Nearly 10 established campsites. From RV to primitive. Plenty of campfire rings, grills, lantern posts, picnic table, dumpster, and a water spigot (assumable drinkable because I observed the ‘locals’ drinking from it. 14 days max stay!

$32/night for a tent site. Showers are hot and clean, which is a huge plus. The grass in a lot of the tent sites was pretty damp so just be prepared for that or talk to the office and see if you can switch to a different spot if they have the availability. The spots are pretty close together. Laundry is $1.75 to wash and $.75 to dry. The tent spots are level. The WiFi is decent. It was a good spot for us to shower, do laundry, and organize our gear for a night. There are donkeys, goats, and pigs which is kinda neat. The campground is close to a City Market, Walmart, and gas stations in Gunnison.

Spent 3 nights camping at this beautiful campsite on the grass meters from our private beach (unfortunately the government has passed the law that the beaches are for the people and no lodges can technically have private beaches).
the campgrounds were very neat and the ablutions clean, the staff were brilliant and attentative to our every need. We spent a couple of nights socializing with the wonderful owners Trish and Dan who even hosted us for a braai on the beach. They are busy building a new bar and restaurant area after it was burnt down a while ago. Excited to visit again and see all the new additions

We stopped in and had a look around, however, obviously due to the lack of guests over the covid period, there didn't seem to be much focus on the camping side so we moved to look at other campsites
