There a few spots here where you can find a little shelter from the wind. A farm house is a little above the ridge. The land is very barren. No water, no shade. Not an ideal spot to be honest. Around 500m downhill, near some houses, there is a wide "river bank" where you could stay as well.

This is a big local restaurant with lots of wooden chairs facing the beach. They have a lot of dishes with vegetables- for the vegetarians! And their vegetable Casado is fully vegan :) the service is a bit slow but the servings were generous.

We are on bikes at the next door store (connected to the restaurant) if we could pitch our tent in the storefront once they close, they said yes. The store front had a little cover and protected us from the heavy rain that night.

You could ask to camp in the restaurant once they close (at 10pm).

We had access to water (a spigot right next to the store front!) and bathrooms from the restaurant.

Stayed a night, picnic table along the entrance road and a nice shady spot where we setup. Was quiet all night. Heads up, it is next to the water treatment plant so depending on the direction of the wind there can be some odours. We only noticed it once and it wasn’t terrible.

Nobody bothered us all night. None of the noisy kids materialized either, nor the ducks!

There is a porta-potty at the far end of the parking lot now as well for those without bathrooms onboard.

Very beautiful spot parked by the beach under the trees. There is a “La Sopita” that has booze (sometimes) and breakfast or dinner but needs to be told in advance as they get everything fresh. Locals come here to hang out. Pretty dead out of season so you will have the space to yourself most likely. $10 per person per night, outside showers and toilets.

previous description is still the same. Very nice to camp along the river! And nice hiking of mountainbike trails.
Make sure you do the reservation and payment in the office in Lilongwe, section 3. (It's close to Mabuya camp).

Check it out on AirBnb for price and availability.
Julia has a little farm here just 35km outside of São Paulo. She rents out rooms. Is a little green Oasis with lovely animals around. If you lucky you even can see the monkey family. Julia is a super host, absolutely friendly and helpful.

All it is is grass, cows, quail hunters, and coyotes. Very peaceful, very quiet, and several camp spots, but the camp spots are just small fields. Nice place to stay and very good for some quiet prairie hiking.

Was planning to stay overnight but around 6pm the noisy vehicles started to gather. The writing was on the wall. And there is signage for “no overnight camping” there now as well. The boat dock seemed like a better alternative so we went there instead.

Big levelled gravel parking lot with picnic table, pit toilet and a trailhead to awesome mtb trails, plus a pump track. No “no camping” signs. Attendant came by around 8pm to clean the toilet and didn’t say anything to us. In fact, if you go down to another parking lot (as seen on Trailforks app), you will see “no camping” sign and a note that for after hours access people should use the upper parking lot (this one). Some people came late at night and left shortly after, we weren’t bothered. If you are tempted to explore nearby Takla service road for more secluded camping spot, don’t do it - at least in the first few km, there were no pull offs and it went to a reserve with lots of private property signs, and the road was terrible.

This campground is situated on a small reservoir. Each spot has a picnic table and a fire ring and there are pit toilets. The camp spots are nicely spaced and there’s about 15 or so in the entire campground. The scenery is rolling hills and distant mountains. In the summer there was lots of bird life. There’s really no place to hike other than walking around the campsite. There is no water or dump. AT&T service was good Verizon was not good. This campground served as a nice overflow spot for us when the Lewis and Clark State Park was full. There were only three people here on a summer Sunday night. The cost was $18.
