great spot! there were lots of campers on the road leading to this place but once we drove through the notch in the rocks, we felt completely alone.

As described. Some people showed up to fish around 8pm and I heard them leaving around midnight, and others came to fish around sunrise, so it seems no issue to park overnight as odd hour visitors are common here.
Gorgeous views, a very fresh and strong manure smell the night we arrived was the only downside 😆.

A nice , flat parking lot with a spectacular view of the Arches. There are a lot of biting flies when we are here.

Pull out along the road. Right next to creek and a rock fire pit along the creek as well. There is also a flat spot for a tent along the creek. We parked here in a truck with a camper in the bed.

Came after daylight. Small street was very bad (big rocks) didn't manage to get into the place with our big truck camper (24ft). No chance because of the narrow street and the small entrance. Inside is plenty of space. Had to drive backwards back the alley at night - horrible.

Beautiful self-serve established campground with clean pit toilets, picnic tables, fire rings, pavilions. Plenty of flat spots when we arrived after dark. Awesome dark sky for stars. Woke up next to the lake. Gas station a few minutes away. Water was shut off this time of year.

still open until october 14th. 17.99$ to put in a envelop (+ 8$/day if you wanna make a fire, infinite wood included). Basic but really beautiful, some open sites near the creek and some more private in the wood. We arrived around 6pm and still many sites available, even if a lot of campgrounds are closed in october. Would stay again!

It's really like a pool, the water are natural, but it's a pool installation (not like others hot springs in bc). It's safe tho and really relaxing. It's also popular so a lot of people in the shower/ change room. Worth the 7$ for chilling in hot water + take a warm shower when it's cold outside. No pets, no food, alcohol or smoke. Kids friendly

Very quiet area, far from light and noise pollution. This is a public hunting area and a grazing area, be respectful of boundaries, Ran into a couple of local hunters and some people fishing and a few other locals drove by but had no issues. Highly recommend

Nice small spot on the ocean side of the road. Stayed one Saturday night. No one bothered me and there are no prohibitory signs. Some other campers at other sites along the road. Lovely sounds of the ocean. Visit the lighthouse and support the area.

Decent informal campground with pit toilet, fire ring, and picnic table. Great wildlife! Coyote, elk, great horned owls. This is a party spot in the weekends for locals. There were people driving in and out until 1 am, music, drinking and other shenanigans. Good place to overnight durning the week.

To the left of overlook there’s a short trail up to a secluded area with space for about 4 tents. Great views and trails to other little overlooks. Fair amount of traffic noise but nothing too bad. Found 3 snakes all within 20 yards of my tent so watch where you step

Sites were somewhat private. Beautiful hiking trails for forest views.
There is an outdoor shooting range in the Uwharrie National Forest across the lake as well as OHV trails. I was woken up at first light to what sounded like a battle had broken out with soldiers on dirt bikes.

Most of the services have since closed down at morrow mountain state park due to extensive renovations.

Would not recommend staying here! Cop came by in the morning to announce no camping and no parking in upper lot. Also lots of coyotes so def not a safe place to bring a dog. “Lake” is a generous word the body of water at this spot.

I pulled off into this dirt parking lot just before sunset. It is next to a gated lot but not part of it. It is close to the road but the road noise disappears around 11 PM. Was not bothered by anyone.

Beautiful open space. Smooth road coming in off 180. Some areas are cluttered with trash but we chose a clean area. Just a few minutes from Petrified Forest. Beautiful sunset. Stars were awesome.

Nice large level place with gravel and loop. Suitable for anything, any size. Great T-mobile reception. Nice view. Fire pit. Plenty of room between site. We stopped after dark, so we stayed at the first location to the right. Could here the highway some, but not obnoxious and not much traffic. I love it silent, but this didn't bother me. Nice place for overnight or longer.

Lovely camping spot. Very shady. We got a spot right by the water on a Friday at 8:00pm in early October (primitive sites). RV area looked busier. Clean bathrooms and showers available. Primitive sites have picnic table, fire ring, and level gravel pad - great for RTT. If you’re not from the area, watch out for the ant hills - some bite.

I would definitely not call this big rig accessible! Drove down with just our truck and decided we would not want to pull the camper down or back up!. Stayed at Colgate Camp up the road instead.
