the.vandersons | This spot is the closest parking to the turn off for the sketchy road to walk up to Cerro Kennedy (or you can 4x4/moto up that road but we only have 2WD). the view is sweet, a sliver of Santa Marta and the ocean, mountains, and a great view of Ciénaga, the long spit, and even the lights of Barranquilla at night. You can get a little bit of cell service at the big rock from Ciénaga direction. There's a bar at the turnoff to Cerro Kennedy with a bathroom and porch with beers and a pool table. the owner says this is technically his parking too, so we paid 5.000 for the day. He had asked 10, but wasn't there when I paid, and I also got some beers. It's just a pull off on the side of the road, above a coffee plantation. But the views and weather are 👍👍 Down the road a little farther is a restaurant open on the weekends. pretty sleepy up here but definitely busier on the weekends. |

steveandnoelle.com | Take a five mile drive away from the freeway on a nicely paved road. Once you get to the river there are several places to camp. We were here on a Friday night and while the road was busy to the boat ramp, we were by ourselves. It quiets down in the evening and then the stars come out to play! A little windy but okay. No AT&T where we stayed but it came back just a tad down the road. Would definitely stay here again. |

andrewborstein | Convenient little stop in between Sacramento and Boise. We stopped just in case they had propane and they did! We filled up our 17 gallon tank on the RV for a decent price. And they also have a cute little restaurant where you can order some hot food, which was about as good as you'd expect from a random roadside stop. They also have WiFi now. |

kimverplancke | What a great spot! Easy to roll into, plenty of space and q beautiful surrounding. Stuck between Wupatki and Sunset Crater, you pay NP fee to drive this road, but it is well worth it. Quiet, stars, volcanoes.... |

radical_to(Instagram) | A lot of people in the comments seem to be referring to the dirt road PAST the lighthouse (I did see people camping there). This GPS location though is actually referring to a few gravel pullouts on the left of the road TO the lighthouse. These are quite reasonable spots as well although you're really on the side of the road (road is not busy). The beach is amazing for walking, you can walk all the way to the lighthouse. I preferred staying here to not push the "no camping" rules. |

David Steinbrugge | Large gravel pull out area next to a information kiosk. very flat and at the junction of a couple of very quiet roads. I have spent a couple of nights here with my RV with no problems. there are no signs that prohibit overnight parking. the stars were amazing the last time I stayed! |

denbree1 | First go to Parc Estelle Lacoursiere, then under the bridge. We left at 23h30 after the same SUV parked inches from us for the 2nd time in a few hours. We saw 15 cars come and go in a 2 hours time-lapse. Nice view but much too busy at night. |

FordEscapeSoloTraveler | Far into the trees, definitely was nice for the night. Quiet all night and morning. I was even able to sleep in until 9am and only got up because there was finally another car here with me. Bathrooms, water and picnic tables. 1 bar of LTE Verizon but it loaded everything perfectly fine! |

Sharon Sutherland | Terrible campground. Arsenic in water for months and not resolved. Sani dump overflowing and running down the road. Security treated us like criminals over free water bottles that campers could use because of arsenic water issue. Booked in for 5 days but left after 1 day. DO NOT STAY HERE. |

mccartylukea | Beautiful views of the canyon and the Gunnison River from our spot -- right on the cliff and nestled inside a cluster of juniper trees. One of the coolest BLM sites we've visited. Road was bumpy where we camped but a 2wd with sufficient clearance won't have a problem. |
