Flat salt area, 4x4 required. Amazing landscape, not too much shelter from wind. From the route 186, you get on a secondary road that seems to go into the lake/salt flat, and when you start to get close to this pin, you will see at your right a small flat place where you can park. I used Maps.me to follow the secondary road exiting route 186.

Remote dispersed camping in the State Park. Easy drive into site 1, gets more off camber and high centered to get into site 2. Reservation permit required. Verizon LTE here. Mostly severe washboard roads in. Fire box and picnic table. Pack your 💩 out. The camps along the river are more scenic. Although 25 some miles, this site was 1.5+ hour from the pavement.

Slept in the Hannaford's parking lot, one other van was there too. Not sure what their rules are for overnight parking but I didn't get bothered. Fairly quite spot.

Spent a quiet night on west side of the park under a lamp post. Police passed a few time, no issue. Trash big on site, no services. Good cell coverage.

Large pull off of southbound Hwy1. Plenty of room for several vehicles. We felt totally safe as two women in a sprinter van. Would stay here again!

We stayed 2 nights here and absolutely loved it. We saw quite a few dolphins and went out paddle boarding. It’s also very nice for fires as there is lots of drift wood. No cell service.

Very well equipped YPF and very clean. We parked round the back on a little grassy area that was fenced/walled on three sides so felt secure
Just make sure you park far enough back as unfortunately our van was bumped into by another car trying to get out of the small building next to the grassy area. Partly our fault for not leaving enough space, partly their fault for not being able to drive properly... Very minor scratch to the bumper so no harm no foul.
Water tap can be found next to the hot water machine on the forecourt right next to the grassy area. Recommended place of rest for the night in San Rafael.
Great 4g Movistar and Claro signal.

Stayed two nights. Very clean well kept campground as one would expect in National Monument. I appreciated the recycling dumpsters, running water bathroom. No tent pads at most sites. Luckily our site was level. We stayed two nights.

It is in front of Titicaca lake. Is very cold but the view is really nice. You dont have a bathroom, is free, and the beach is also nice. There are friendly dogs around. Enjoy!

A free campsite on the southern end of Red Bluff Resevoir. 3 days max, I believe. No water or hookups. There are porta potties, though the Texas Parks & Wildlife website indicates that might not always be the case.

A few bumps in the road, but you could really fit any kind of rig in here.

There are several covered picnic areas with fire rings and 55-gallon drum trash cans.

Your Mileage May Vary

Easy to get to, even with a big rig and 2wd, but also quite noisy with a motorsport race track a few miles away, shooting ranges near buy, fireworks, loud music, ATVs, traffic noises, along with police and fire sirens at all hours. I was looking for a place to do renovations (with battery powered tools) on my rig without upsetting anyone, and this location worked out well. #YMMV

30 soles
We dropped off our dog at 9:30 PM and they were able to send her to our camp spot the next day at 5:30PM in Ollantaytambo via the neighbor taxi driver for 30 soles more. Seemed like he was very careful and smart with getting dogs to get along and have a good time

End of a forest road that has a few pull outs along it. If you drive to the end there is a tree, fire pit, and great views of Cottonwood. The cell signal is good especially since there isnt much driving up. 3 bars of Verizon around 40mbps. Very secluded although it can get windy. Lots of rocks especially on the last part of the road but just going nice and slow I made it fine in my fwd Promaster.

As per last comment. Excellent free campground: vault toilets & potable water. No rigs over 25', but definitely noticed a few rigs that are much larger (not sure why). Campground was full on this night, but wasn't full until late evening.
