If you pay (8$/car) and enter the state park, you can find a spigot of potable water with good pressure on the parking lot of the visitor center. Easy to park with big rig.

We passed this spot a few meters down and found that the road split into two, and both ways look too difficult to continue with our 2wd. We stayed on a small, flat area to the right, under the shade of some trees. We walked further down and saw that the road ended so there were no communities or people nearby. The stream of water doesn't exist anymore. We spent a quiet night under the stars.

Beautiful views of Río Grande down the road, colorful mountains, amazing cactuses, just a beautiful drive. The road is completely unpaved but flat so doable with our 2wd. We drove it at 25mph.

No checkpoint here for us but there was one a couple of cities down south (will create a separate entry). Corrupt police, asked for SOAT which we obviously did not have because it is not possible to get it at the border. Even on our TIP, aduana wrote: SOAT in puno. Police did not care, asked for 40 soles but we did not have any cash. Then they asked for 150 US dollars instead. A joke! We ended up paying 20 dollars, they had our passports and would not give them back without money. Be well prepared, it was an unpleasant first experience in Peru…

Forest service website lists the campground as open from 05/15-10/15. It was sadly still closed when I arrived on 05/24. No posted reason why, but I presume it's still closed for the season. Luckily there is dispersed camping available on the forest roads near the campsite and in the general area.

This Shuttle-Service is the official way to enter the embassies within the enclave.

Ticket costs 1000pkr, you have to leave all electronic devices, knifes, multi-tool whatever at the station. they give you a electronic card as a proof of your belongings.

while protests in the city you might not easily reach this place since all streets around can be blocked by big shipping containers.
In our case People with Cars parked on the highway and walked by foot but with a motorbike there is a dirtroad we used with motorbikes (theoretically you can do it by car if you are experienced in that)

Spent one night here after doing the seven zip line tour!

Such an amazing spot! No amenities but such stunning views and free. We spent the day here and a security guard came by around 530pm to let us know he was closing the gate. We asked if we could camp here and he said that was fine.

AmazIng view of the canyon at sunset and sunrise. Lots of food vendors during the day so you can have some delicious food wile you camp. (They close at 430pm)

3G cell reception. No wifi in the parking lot.

Would highly recommend this spot. Also would recommend their activities. The Zip Lines are amazing

Second time staying here. Really friendly staff and a beautiful location in the mountains. There’s even a bear who often visits called Dennis! Second time we’ve stayed here and have seen him multiple times on each stay. Please keep it clean and be respectful as this is a fantastic free spot ☺️

Lovely hotel, good WiFi, we paid 9 Million Rials for a room of 4 people (circa 36€).

Indeed the entrance street is narrow, but the friendly staff Ali helped us to get the car carefully to the hotel. We fit our orange Jeep Wrangler JK, see picture.

2 options for parking: one the nearby square surveilled with a camera or in a guarded parking 500 meters away, er chose last one.

Free Dump station. GPS Address is 290 Harris street, Ingersoll. Look for sign of “Cheese & Agricultural Museum” (Centennial Lane). Go past the museum. You will pass a Sign “No exit”. Go on, till the street makes a slight left turn (right after a speed bump) the Dump station is on the right hand side.

Lots of campsites, fire rings, picnic tables under shady trees right by the water. Alongside a boat ramp, but quiet except for a few fishermen in the morning. Not all sites are level for tents. Small parking lot, walk down to the sites. Pit toilets, but they were locked when we were there. Great find!

Beautiful canyon in the Malibu mountains. There are several pull off spots throughout this canyon. Very quite during the night, and somewhat quiet during the day depending on what day it is. Super cars tend to zoom through here on weekends, along with motorcycles. Besides that it’s relatively quite, calm and relaxing. I’ve stayed here many times and continue to do so. Never have been bothered and have never seen any type of law enforcement in the canyon. There is cell service towards the foot of the mountain, but the further back you drive you will lose service.
