Was really good (quiet & nice view) until two policemen came around 7pm (it was already night) to ask us to move from our spot (somewhere near the gravel road on the hill) and camp across the paved road. Supposedly, neighbors were « sensitive to bad people coming around » and « it was better for our safety ». It doesn’t change much, but we spent the night closer to the road.

Great overnight spot, close to the highway with beautiful views. There are a few spots here, we stayed just a bit farther down from the coordinates. there is one spot just south of us next to the old corrals that would have been better but no complaints. #BlkWgn

Last mile is a dirt road that (in parts) is rutted, potholed, and washboarded. Took it slow with my Travato. Front of the spot near the fence is perfectly level. Beautiful location very close to the lake with mountains as a backdrop. Lots of waterfowl and no bugs this time of year. Very quiet, peaceful, and clean - please keep it that way! Saw lots of boondocking rigs along the road to this location.

Great free hot showers, water fountain, bathrooms, sinks for doing dishes, and indoor picnic area by Kedge Beach! We checked with the park ranger at the visitor center and they said this is open to all (not just those camping).

Check with the park ranger at the visitor center to make sure it’s open since many things only open seasonally in the park.

Big, flat place between the cemetery and the lake of Mursi. The place is still under construction. Full sunshine, quiet, no zombies in the night. In the entrance house toilet and fresh water. Nice view to Mursi and the mountains.

Fairly quiet compared to a lot of Walmart lots. I stayed on the lawn & garden side nearer to the entrance and not bad at all.

This is the main parking area for visiting the Mtskheta Cathedral and you run the gauntlet of tourist stalls to reach it. However, the parking area is massive and flat and under used. If there are young people around it is easy to move nearer the river away from the action. (We had 15 minutes of lads revving up cars). If you want remote this is not for you but the views of the monastery in front and the cathedral behind are good. Toilets fine and clean. Happy to let us fill up our water tanks. Lots of friendly drivers came to chat. Dogs there but not a problem. They are tagged to say they are loved! We like these sorts of places with good access to monuments and facilities. We paid 3 lari.

Corrupt police, asked for SOAT which we obviously did not have because it is not possible to get it at the border. Even on our TIP, aduana wrote: SOAT in puno. Police did not care, asked for 40 soles but we did not have any cash. Then they asked for 150 US dollars instead. A joke! We ended up paying 20 dollars, they had our passports and would not give them back without money. Be well prepared, it was an unpleasant first experience in Peru…

Came midday on a Tuesday to find one of the two spots available for me. Feeling very lucky about the amenities—pit toilets, picnic tables, trash cans—and landscape here. Unreal that it’s free. No cell service. Sites are best for van/car camping—also tent spots out here are all gorgeous—but you could make something bigger work if you’ve got the place to yourself or know the neighbors.

Very few traffic.
The white sound from the river is not too loud. A folk left being a burger and plenty of cigarette butts on the picnic table :-(

This is the location of the entrance to the cascada. There is on street parking only which is all on a slope. We asked the lady at the ticket booth about camping and she said there was no camping....

Backed right up to the highway. Lots of ticks.. don't step in the grass or let your dog out in the back. There is a sign on the edge of the lot (almost out of sight completely) says no over night camping. We stayed anyways, along with two other vans. probably won't come back here..

We arrived when it was dark, not the best place you could find in the valley, but this one would work for one night.
On the way to san felix, take a path on your left, after the bridge, then on your left there is a memorial and some place to park your car or put your tent (almost flat for one camper). You will no be visible from the main road. The river is accessible but not easily.
We heard a few cars passing in the night and a few more at 6 am, the rest of the time is quite quiet.

Great free camping location close to Kamloops on a quiet lake that backs onto a forest with trails. Dozens of seperate sites to pitch a tent or park to sleep. Stone fire pits at most sites. Fair amount of trash can be found and lots of trees have been cut down (Presumably by campers), although its nothing that detracts from the peaceful experience. Take the north entrance from Lac Le Jeune Rd for a direct entrance. The south entrance from Inks Lake Rd takes you through a couple KMs of bumpy dirt road with lots of pot holes. No amenities as this is wild camping.
