Free camping but should call number ahead of time to book campsite. I found a copy of the map on the Facebook page with the campsites numbered. Portapotty and trash can but nothing special. Campsites had picnic table and fire ring. A little buggy but beautiful night sky and overlook of the Ohio river at the end of gravel road. Verizon has great connection. Very rocky road to get into reserve and even rockier road leading to campsites. Be careful if it has rained recently lots of potholes and mud.

New cottonwood is an amazing site! Water is low this year but still good boating! The recent rains have given this place an amazing lawn through out the park.

UK citizen crossed with bicycle on ferry for free.

Very hostile people will try and get money from you. I didn't have a passport copy, but this was no problem. I only spoke to people in police uniforms. I ignored everyone else, except for shouting at a guy touching my bike. Not fun!

Arraial do Cabo está muito chata com motorhomes. É necessário fazer um cadastro e pegar uma autorização pra entrar na cidade com o carro. Só é permitida a entrada até um estacionamento de ônibus e seguir à pé, é proibido rodar com o carro pela cidade. Ficamos no camping Amendoeiras. muitos Motorhomes e barracas, ambiente acolhedor com estrutura de água e energia.

As described, good free dump station, a lot of people seem to be living here. Dump and go!!!

The various posts by "blogs/174637" are totally false. I went to the island police department and spoke at length with the officers. There is no $25k fine or automatic court appearance. They figure blogs/174637 is trying to scare campers off the island. Those posts should all be deleted.The island is VERY short on open parking so boondocking is difficult. The police recommend boondocking at Eglise St- Laurent and St. Petronille if people don't want a formal campground. The wild camping at "port st-jean" is prohibited and it should be grayed out. I still ask that blogs/174637 post be removed from "port st-jean" since his false information could cause confusion about any island boondocking.

This place is not allowed to park overnight between 10pm-7am. It has a big no parking sign at the entrance of the parking lot. It allows to 24h park only between December 1st to April 1st.
