We took the first left up a hellacious road in our FJ Cruiser to a great spot. A little road noise and no ATT data.

We loved staying here. We kept extending our stay each day. You can tell the enjoy working here. They do have some full fulltime campers/residents here. On the weekends, they have some activities like ice cream nights, breakfast and bingo.

This is possibly our favourite campsite so far in western Zambia! It is off the beaten track on the bank of the Kobompo river, across from the west Lunga NP. We chose to camp next to the last chalet (Lion) near the slipway. The other stands are not on the river’s edge but further back under shady trees. In summer they must be lovely. We were allowed to use Lion chalet’ s toilet and shower. The facilities are a little run down but so what. There’s flushing toilets, hot showers and the river is wonderful.
There is friendly staff who can do any camp duties for you like washing clothes, lighting hot water donkeys and general help.
The half day boat trip was an absolute highlight but be aware that park fees will then apply.
The birding is really good! Our first Schalow’s turaco and the fishing was excellent too.
This is the kind of place one could spend a week or more. We really recommend it and hope that it can get more visitors to get back on its feet.

Really beautiful campsite, flush toilets, hot water and a kitchen with a gas cooker, gas in a tank, sink and undercover. Communications via email vague and intermittent.
Birdlife somewhat disappointing but a great privilege to see the pockets of evergreen bush and various game kept on the farm.
Campsite recommended.

Instead of the sandpit, we chose the road to the beach. There is one building and fisherman’s landing. We talked with the fisherman and he said it’s OK to camp here. Fairly level. Not a large area but suitable for a class B camper. No services. Very quiet. It could be very windy.

Plenty of great spots on the river near mighty boabs along this track. Unfortunately River was dry in early sept, but this would be epic camping right next to swimming earlier in season.
Plenty of room here for 5 vehicles, need high clearance to get in

Several gravel campsites with a turn around at the end of the campground.Nice lakeside walking trails, some downed trees along the trail,we got 3 warning growls from a bear so we gladly went back to camp. Plenty of bear sign and sightings here. 2 long term campers by the dock, they seem a little territorial about their spots and the dock. Caught a nice rainbow off the dock for dinner tho.
Quiet at night even tho it was almost full, lots of wood to scavenge here. Some distant train sounds but wasn’t often.
Cheers

Road is really bumpy, took us about an hour (to make sure the car doesn’t get destroyed) from Whitehorse with our high clearance 2wd.
3-4 vans fit, leveled enough for a night, but absolut worth the 360* view. Especially when it’s aurora borealis night.

Motorcycle camping at it's best!! Took the spot at the far end away from the lighthouse beam. Such a beautiful spot! Sat by the Cape until mosquitoes found me. Peaceful night.

Olga and Marcos are marvelous hosts, they care about their guests well being, making you feel like home. We planed to stay only one night, but we stayed for a week to relax and to enjoy the place and company.
We were honored to taste Olga's traditional peanuts and potatoes soup, corn fried cakes, patacones with cheese, and even eggs from their our chickens.
The bathroom and shower are now built and clean, and the whole place is in great conditions for travelers. This is now the only and best camping spot if you want to relax just 30 minutes from Popayan.

Excellent, well thought out campsites, immaculate bathrooms with the best pressurised hot water camp showers that I've ever experienced. Outside cold water shower for cooling off, nice barbecue area and a shade structure, perfect for taking meals. The campsites have electrical plug points (round RSA type), and have a switched orange light within the campsite as well as a flood light facing the water to keep the insects away.
The Staff were very friendly and helpful and provided us with fresh bream fillets. The Owners, Margot and Richard were very welcoming and friendly and as campers themselves, know exactly how to run a campsite. The rates for camping were very reasonable too. My only regret is that we were only there for 3 nights, we will be back. Alan, Nic & Tom Rayner

The driveway is moderately bumpy and stoned so you can't drive thru with a standard mobile home. The spot it's nice but no great view of Atlas just nice.
The spot it's just right next to a path used by sheep herders, lumberjacks on donkeys... so don't be scared if one of these people cross over there by at any time of the night.
