stopped and asked to customer service if ok to park for the night, they said if we do, there is a chance our wheels would get booted. There is no sign whatsoever of "no overnight parking" but we didn't want to take a chance of getting problems so we left.

We spent one night here, no issues.
The road is loud, but it didn’t bother us, we slept really well.
We parked behind the building, our van fits jnto a regular car size parking space.

Charged me 600 pesos. I don't think it's worth it at that price.

It's not a bad place, there's even a propane heater in the room (I needed it at this elevation and time of year), but 600 pesos will usually get better accomodations in most small Mexican towns. I probably should have checked out the hotel out on the highway.

Internet is slow and flakey, but I was able to backup my photos and check my emails.

Helpful dude behind the counter.

Wanted to stay but found a van that had tickets on its windshield for overnight parking. You might get away with it but not worth the risk

Hard to get to with a couple miles of washboard roads and def not worth detouring for.

That said, camping alone down in the canyon with the place to myself was kinda unique and cool.

Water level v low and stagnant since area farms use river water to irrigate fields during summer and fall. I imagine it’s pretty scenic in the spring w higher water levels and probably good fishing then.

I smelled manure from area fields but it wasn’t terrible.

Good spot on the river. More and even nicer places further down the road . Lot's of locals, some with loud music, but quiet at night.

Stayed here for about 5 nights without any issues. Nice space, plenty of room, beautiful view of the sunsets, just a bit of noise from the road.

During the day we drove across the street to the state park that was shut down for the season so we were able to enter for free and enjoy the park pretty much all to ourself which was really beautiful.

The state park had an electrical outlet that was still live, were able to plug in and charge up during the day while we worked.

We headed back over to the empty lot once it got dark out as it was posted that overnight camping at the park was prohibited.

It was a blast! Will definitely revisit.

We did not made it to the top because we left to late into the park. Officially at the entrance it states that camping is not allowed. But they just let is go into the road at 16:30.

We stayed after driving 5km at a nice hill side.
Make sure you check weather conditions of entering end of day.

This place still exists. 65 MAD a night, hot shower for men, cold water in women's, electricity, no wifi while we were there. Two guard dogs tied up day and night, lots of barking. Safe place to pass the night while passing through.

120 for a matrimonial. perfect location in the centre of Potosi. left our van outside, they have two private parking in this deadend street, in front of the hostel. Bad point : the matress are horribly hard. Good point : shower are hot with gaz and their mine tour at 80.

Still possible to camp with a car too. They just fixed the basketball/soccer field so not sure for how long it will be though. Entrance is a bit tricky (see pics), maximum car width 2.65m. Nice quite place at night.

meh it worked in a pinch, no “no parking” signs, but felt like I was parked in someone’s backyard
30 feet of thin forest separating the pullout and the back of a couple houses.
Around 9pm someone drove by and honked several times.
Toilet paper and trash on the ground as well unfortunately

really nice campground, $12. potable water, picnic tables, fire rings, dumpster, and pit toilets that were relatively clean. great level spots, suitable for RVs and tents and not too far from LA. nice views, quiet, and most of the spots are nicely dispersed, so you have some privacy. the road to this place is beautiful but quite long with lots of sharp turns, so probably not great for huge rigs. there were only 2 other people there. seems to be quite some wildlife around though, because when we woke up we found a dead bear with a nasty hole in its head a few meters from our picnic table, the poor thing. spotted some coyotes on our way out too but didn't hear much at night. it seems some people left some trash around fire pits despite there being multiple dumpsters, so be careful and make sure to properly dispose of your trash.

This is the beginning of a trail going down to Guanajuato. It is used by pedestrians and motorbikes. We stayed right before the three on the left.
A little close to the road but good for one night if you want to avoir the “sketchy” parking lot near the rv park

This spot is beautiful! I would recommend stopping in, even if you aren't going to stay the night. I was there on Halloween with around a dozen other cars, vans, and RVs, with room for maybe a few more. The beach was fun to walk around on, though not very long, and I saw otters under the bridge. Highway noise isn't too bad. There's two fire pits. No toilets, but bathrooms half a mile up the road.

Wow! The previous posts completely undersold this place in my opinion. We came to check it out and stayed 3 days! We basically had the beach to ourselves. There’s plenty of garbage cans around and therefore the beach is very clean.
. Locals come by every morning to pick up trash ( which we also did so they didn’t have much to do). We caught 3 fish for dinner. Snorkeling is great as the water is very clear and relatively warm and Mt Tatakawi looms in the back ground just waiting to be hiked. It’s a stunning view from way up there.
We loved it here. Police drove through each night and didn’t bother us at all.
Be sure to come with lots of water and food as there’s nowhere close to get any.

As described. There are four small tables w/benches and a large trash can. Although it was Monday night, a couple of cars showed up with loud music but left after a few minutes. The night was quiet after 10pm and our kitties enjoyed the trees surrounding the river.
