Update: both sides takes around 10min at Immigration. Very friendly officers. No Problem at all.

just a small creak maybe 40cm deep. didn't see any fish and the water had a milky tint to it and lots of algae. for being a road to nowhere from nowhere it was really busy all day. this spot is visible from the road unless your right under the bridge, but if you get to this pin, turn right along the fence for like 40m to find 2 more hidden spots that we liked much more. gravel road the whole way from travelin and all of the way to the border.

really fast and efficient border. steps 1,2, and 3 clearly marked and in order. we crossed with our dogs with paperwork from bariloche (only good for 10 days). the senasa guy took the dog paperwork and disappeared for like 5 minutes to stamp the paperwork and make a copy, and when he returned we were allowed to cross. even with the dogs only took 15 minutes to exit Argentina. no vehicle search done here and no one asked about our Jerry cans, even though they were empty. they did warn us the Chile was strict and we threw some produce away in a dumpster here.

probably the prettiest location for a border we have seen so far. steps 1, 2, and 3 clearly marked. step 3 was senasa declaration (and dog paperwork) for your belongings but they didn't seem to care about the details. we were dreading crossing into Chile because of the strict rules on food as well as medications and dog food. but the guy barely looked in our fridge and had us open all of the doors but didn't touch anything. super chill. didn't ask about the Jerry cans hanging off of the back here either. the dog paperwork, original and a copy, get stamped here and they keep the copy. make sure you get the original back as I walked out the door with one of the copies.

Nice hotel in Navirai. Hot showers, walled off parking, good WiFi, friendly staff, strong breakfast spread. We paid 220rs for the extra nice room because it was the only one they had (balcony, kitchenette). Not bad for a stopover!

ALWAYS KEEP YOUR LIGHTS ON

Lots of cars including us got pulled out here. They caught us on camera with our lights being turned off a few kms before (was an early morning drive so we‘d just forgot)

Officers were acting friendly but fined us a stunning 43500 ARS in cash! Then said if you pay by card it‘s 50% off, amounting 21750 ARS - which ends up being the same in your home currency since you probably won‘t get any blue tax refund for this transaction from the gov

So we googled the law and asked them as well: The fine amounts are valued in sth called „U.F.“ here and get scaled by the liter price of nafta.

Our fine for driving without lights was valued „300 U.F.“ on the paper they gave us, which gives 300 x 145 ARS / L = 43500 ARS

Could only find the law articles but no website where those U.F. values are listed - Maybe they scammed us…..so just use your lights !!

Between park and church. Since in the other post it was written that the guard doesn't like to overnight in the park side. We parked just in front, some locals sleep also in this side of the street in hammocks(attached to the church fence and car). Just the mass in the church start 6am so around 5:30 it was the calling with the big bells. Good alarm to go to the border.

Convenient location with clean, paved sites + picnic table and fire ring. We found strong internet for working in Loop B, Site 57. Rest rooms in this area are closed for winter, but open in Loop A (hot shower) and the Visitor's Center. $36 for site (online reservation can be made when you arrive) + $10 day pass. Not cheap but had everything we needed at the moment so we gladly paid. Nice view too!

There is usually 1 or 2 truck that stay here over night though out the week. There is the odd car parked over night. The Ministry of Transport rarely use this inspection site. If you're to stay here in a tent it will be a noisy night as it right next to hwy 6, although the hwy is pretty quiet at night.

We stayed 3 days, plenty of space, some other campers. Hot showers, quite clean, but better than others in this country! Price okay 3500 p for 2!
We don’t know why foreign travelers always are complaining about prices in poor countries. Argentina has an inflation of 100 %!!!

Nestled along a quiet serene creek, approximately 15 campsites with picnic tables, grills, and fire rings. There is also a nice little bathroom on premises. The number to call to check-in is 334-696-4626 but no one came to collect a fee from us. Would definitely camp here again if ever in the area!

quick and easy to get to from town. this is really only a spot for one vehicle, maybe 2 if you're friends. nice view of the river, but tricky to climb down to. a little swampy creak directly to the north made the mosquitos particularly bad here.

we overheard a couple of conversations regarding rafting suggestions and both mentioned this place. 70k pp for the normal bridge to bridge trip but if you pay in cash they offered it for 65k. couldn't be happier with the experience. my wife is risk adverse and so it was reassuring for her that safety was discussed at length and paddling techniques and rescue advice given. all equipment needed is provided. our guide, Carlos, spoke good English and joked around to put some people at ease. this late in the year the water is still very high and mellowed out some of the gnarlier features of the biggest rapids but still managed to get soaking wet on all 12 rapids. 3 boats with 6 guests plus a guide in each and 2 safety boats. afterwards, a large picking plate/snack trays and coffee or tea provided when back in base camp to warm us up. it was only 15* out today 🥶. excellent action shots from a photographer that fallowed us on shore were pretty expensive at 5k per person for just a link in an email, but they turned out awesome and I was happy to have them.

the gnocchi in mushroom sauce was one of the best dishes I have ever had, not just on this trip, ever... my wife got a black truffle linguine that had so much real shaved truffle on it that my jaw dropped! the interior is nicely decorated and very cozy. I'm not sure they are a brewery too, but they also have their own beers here (only in bottles). a real fine dining experience. pretty expensive to be honest, but an incredible meal. wifi is strong enough to reach across the street where we were parked.

Luis and Silvia are very warm and welcoming. They will help you in any way possible if you have a problem or request. They just started a month ago with their camping. There is still a lot of work to do. But we enjoyed staying here very much. There is a Bathroom with a hot shower. A kitchen with everything you need and a commun space for all guests to use. The wifi is good and fast. In front of the house you can pitch your tent and next to the house is a big space for motorhomes and campervans. We recommend!

Great coffee directly from the farmers, they also grow and sell fresh vanilla and give extensive information on their process.

We bought a 250gr bag of grounds and some vanilla sticks.

you can park downstairs and walk up to the entrance.

good spot further down the dirt road from the clearing by the main road. there's a car/RV-port-type structure and a fire pit so I think it's part of the state-run free campground but not sure. one spot after the bend in the road that could be sketchy if it's been raining but I got through it fine in moderate mud. suppose you can park under the car port if it's raining too. saw one car in the night but no issues.
this is across the lake from a coal fire power plant, take note. not sure if that's what set off my smoke alarm or it just malfunctioned - but it's new. no smoke and my second alarm did not go off.
there were several fishermen in the lake in the evening and next morning. birds chirping and a nice place to walk. beautiful.

Quiet spot about 3 Kilometers before the entrance of the Villarica Reseve. You are not allowed to camp at the entrance so this spot is great. To get here you must take a very steep gravel road and relatively bad rippio. Space on flat ground only for 2 Vehicles or one bigger RV. 4x4 definitely helpful for bigger RVs. You can hike to the SolliPulli Volcano Glacier from the Park entrance. You have to register with the park ranger, but it is free of charge to enter the park. Beautiful Aurakaria forest and, wild river and wilderness. Enjoy!

Beautiful and peacful place runs by an environmental association. We met the "boss" and he wanted us to let know to each cyclists that they are offering them to stay for free. we can only recommend this place !!

The project is to help and empower the locals people by teaching them sustainable agriculture and ecology. The association have a restaurant, a farm, a bike workshop (they are renting bycicle) and a school (every Saturday they are teaching sustainability to young locals.

The place is still as described. The manager is very friendly and speaks English.
Be aware if you are a light sleeper: The place is very noisy. Stray dogs, roosters, turkeys, birds, cows… It’s a animal kakophonia the whole night long.
In town there is a very good taco place on the other side of the little bar.

This spot is great! Easily accessible with 2WD even in March! The spots beyond this one were too muddy to get to for us so we turned around and came here. There is plenty of room for multiple rigs here - we were joined by two other vans our first night then had the place to ourselves the second night. Verizon reception is spotty here, but with a boost we were able to work. The road noise is very minimal too!

Completely rutted and muddy in March (see photo). We didn’t want to take a chance in our 2WD Promaster. Also we walked to the first couple spots and they didn’t have good enough Verizon reception for us to work either so we moved on.

Super helpful veterinary office. we went here to get our paperwork started to cross into Chile. we are from the US and our rabies vaccination are good for 3 years and the vet knew this, but wanted us to check with senasa first to verify they would accept this vaccine. which they did. 2 health certificates with external and internal parasite medications was only 10k pesos! they had 2 vet techs doing them both at the same time and the whole process only took about 40 minutes. one older woman, I think was the head vet, did speak some English. super friendly and we were happy they had us check about the rabies instead of not telling us it could be an issue and just taking our money and kicking us down the road.
