Unfortunately camping is not allowed anymore.
We stayed 3 nights, on the last night we slept next to other campers
driving a red Volkswagen T2 with Swiss license plate, which dumped a mattress there. Next day the security came to us that because of this, they don’t allow overnight stay anymore. It’s actually private property.

For what it’s worth, we had amazing views and convenience of toilets nearby. Although the first night we parked near the edge which got a bit scary with the extreme winds at night, so later we parked next to the building. In weekend it was a bit noisy with people parking nearby playing loud music at 3-4AM.
Still grateful we could enjoy this place and probably be the last ones.

Don’t leave trash behind and ruin places like this for others!

Big level gravel parking lot. A small desert area around it on the north. Two ramada’s with large concrete picnic tables. Plus a BBQ at each. Plus large trash cans (55 gallons).
No lights, unless the horse training area is light up (which it was until about 10 PM).
About 9 vehicles pulled in around 10 PM, never made a sound, then we’re gone in the morning.
Had a great free night stay.
Is only 1.5 miles north of the Rio Grande/Mexico border.

Thanks for sharing. Perfect spot! Start track just before the lodge fence (a tree fall on track) then follow the river to find our best place. Nobody come, rare in Lesotho 😉
Enjoy

We came back here after 4 years. It remains the same charming and inviting camp.
As a truck this time we only used the side gate.

Our bus from Dakhla to Casablanca stopped here for dinner. Delicious fish, the Tagine was not great. Recommend the fish. Pink cake ball from the shop was a special and unknown treat

Hermoso lugar. Sumamente tranquilo. Rodeado de montañas. Muy limpio. Solo una ducha y un baño por sexo, que no fue inconveniente porque es fuera de temporada. Agua caliente en horario específico.

Inquired about camping. $400 pesos per car. No shared option as in a previous review. also, not palapas but enclosed, wood structures. Would be nice to keep our of the wind but it was a beautiful day so we went to Campo Beluga.

stayed by the river in the dunes. was really windy and the inside of my tent was covered in sand. I was washing dishes in river at 8pm and 2 miners with a shotgun saw me and came to talk to me.they were super friendly though and the wind died down after dark. all in all a good spot

Perfect camping site! Every parking spot has its own lamp and charger available from 21:00 to 23:00, a wood table and bench. We parked just in front the lake and the spot was huge, with trees protection from the wind and amazing view. We paid 2.500pp no charge for the van. Common area, very spacious and clean with gas stove to cook (no pots or pans). Bathrooms and showers very clean. Hot water even to do laundry and dishes. They have a restaurant with daily menu. We played pool for 300ARS each token. They sell drinks. The lady at the reception was very friendly and explained to us everything we needed to know to visit el Perito Moreno.

By far the nicest campground we have stayed in in three months in Argentina for the price. Some improvements have been made since the last check-in:
1. They have wi-fi! It works by the office, barely at our campsite, as usual.
2. New sinks and toilets: comments on "old and dated" still apply to the buildings. Everything was very clean when we arrived (off season).
3. We stayed here for two nights, 250 pesos per camper, 400 pesos per person.

Still open and as described by previous reviewers. I was able to dump my RV tanks and dispose of trash. One note of caution: If you’re coming into town from the north, Google maps may instruct you to turn left onto 14th Avenue which is a bumpy dirt road with no direct access. The main entrance is actually off S 8th Avenue which is the next left turn.

Stayed 2 nights. Turned up without reservation & the team were very accommodating. Extremely clean bathrooms / laundry room & had dump station. Short Uber ride to the strip. Would return! Can’t remember exact pricing was around $35-40 per night (hook up & water at site.)

Nice scenic drive, the broken road adds to the remote feel of the mountains. Easily possible with off road capable motorcycle or 4x4.

Awesome spot right in town. It’s a large field on state trust land between the off-ramps for the 10 near a storage facility and RV park. I stayed here many times while attending school at CDI. The occupants of the RV park will come by and say hi every now end then while walking their dogs and are super friendly.
This site has zero trash I’ve seen so let’s try to keep it that way, no one has bothered me out here and everyone I’ve talked to doesn’t mind people staying for a day or two.
I get full bars and 5g with no booster
Site is easy to get level and can accommodate big rigs.
Planet fitness is within a mile.
No toilets and I wouldn’t recommend pooping out here.
It can get a bit muddy during rain but nothing that isn’t easily handled
Parking right near the dirt ramp so you get a good whiff of the flowers is very nice.

As always, keep it clean keep it cool Kooks

We had the menu, soup and pasta 7000$ = 9 US$ food was good. We were aloud to stay on the parkinglot. And the next morning we ask for a shower. That was no problem. So we are happy with this restaurant/hotel.

After reading below comments we decided to give this route a go with our 2WD Toyota 4Runner, direction Iquique to Ollargüe. No issues at all, the road is a bit rough in places, but no steep parts. Was happy with our high clearance in some parts. And yes, there's some washboards, as in most dirt roads. The whole unpaved part is about 90km, of which only 25 is narrow tracks. the other parts are wide, and the last 30kms are being prepared for asfalt, so very wide and reasonable quality.

Conclusion: if your up for a little adventure, do this route! It offers great scenery and isn't really that bad. Took us about 2,5 hours.
