Next to the entrance of Archeological finding site there is a nice flat parking area to spent the night. Of course no facilities, but internet works.

Has dump station, non-potable water, 20lb propane cylinders (no exchange or fills, only purchase), and will allow you to park overnight behind the building against the back curb. Solid stopping point for the night.

Great value for money with only 1700 pesos for 2 people and a car with a roof tent. Good wifi, hot shower and relatively clean.

Only downside - The food truck strip next door was playing extremely loud music until 01:00 a.m.. Good place to have a beer and some snacks.

This is our second time here. It’s the best spot on the whole lake.
The place is truly peaceful with water access to the beautiful lake. There’s laundry service here, you can order clean water garafons to your van, and there’s clean bathrooms and showers. Pierre, Ashka and the staff are doing a great job in keeping this place clean, organized and peaceful.

Yes there’s three big dogs here but other than taking sport in chasing smaller animals they are very friendly.
It’s 100Q per day.
There’s around 9-10 spots, some with a beautiful view onto the lake.
Road is steep but we’ve been here for quite some time and seen every kind of truck, RV, van make it here with no issues.

Place changed location or name. Now is a place called El Refugio. 10k a night, looked nice, didn't stay. If you Google the old name you will get in touch with Backpackers Hostel, which is not as central, but nice for 5k

It's okay but lots of holes in the roof and winds blows right through so pretty cold. You're better off at the refugio 29k after, but it's pretty small so it's a bet if it's full.

The only campsite in the area.
The new sanitary building will probably never be finished.
Currently there is only one sanitary room with shower WC and sink. The door can not be locked and opens by itself.
It is staker street noise, with a Permex it will probably not be louder. 350 pesos per night is too much for what is offered. The only thing that works well is the wifi.

Excellent place to do your laundry. 40 AED for a very big bucket. It was finished in 1,5 hours, clean and folded. Parking is easy on the street in front with shade in the afternoon. The owner is Dutch, very friendly guy.

We checked the place out, but it’s pretty noisy and just a small carpark between the a sidewalk and busy road. We went to the fish market area instead.

Just a parking lot near the port office. We went here because the fish market doesn’t allow overnight stay. We parked/slept here several times and didn’t have any problems.

There are some bigger roads in the area, but it was quiet enough to sleep well. There are some trashbins and there is a small area with trees next to the parking.

Guesthouse near the top of the pass with great views over the valley. Restaurant serves good local Laos meals, vegetarian options available. Rooms are 120,000 for a Double room with a huge bed or 140,000 for the twin. Prices are listed so seems fair. Breakfast available for an extra charge but we hit the road to eat later as we generally do. Rooms have a good ensuite with western toilet but the bed was very hard, we should have put down our camping mattress but were too exhausted to care at the time. They allowed us to stay with our 3 dogs in the room. Fast and free wifi, we uploaded 6GB of video from our action camera in about 2 hours. Recommended.

Nice spot at the rim of edge of the world overlooking to Faisal Finger.

Enter the valley at the Mosque Ammaria Hills (24.7454291, 46.3554828). You can fill your tank at the water fill station at (24.7452982, 46.3552354) if required. Follow the paved street to the high voltage power lines. Turn left at the end of the street (24.7132038, 46.2169367) and follow the white gravel road along the power lines. 4x4 is not required!

quiet place in front of the gate to the recommandable Erstefontain Trail below Spandaukop.
Easy access even in the dark. Near to Graaf Reinet and its few good restaurants but far away enough from people.

after kilometers of driving with fences on both sides of the road, we found this place with some random trees and good internet. there is a band of soft sand to cross. there are plenty of spots around, you can hear the road a bit but you can drive closer to the mountain if you wish

Nice spots along the coast. They just had a massive storm which washed away the bridge. No water available due to waterline being damaged. Ablutions basic. Electricity on stands. Cell signal available when no loadshedding. Lots of Mozzies. Nice private beach, but a lot of vendors. We were charged R100 pppn. Perimeter fence rusted and not a deterrent. We did not have any incidents.

We were in a pinch and this worked great. Very foggy and just after dark, very easy to find, we pulled in and set up a quick boondock site.
Positives were it is right next to the water, easy access, free.
Negative is mosquitos are Swarming and Hungry so bring bug spray.

Below these coordinates (south) there is only a dead end with some fishers.
The sand gets softer and softer. if you get stuck there you must be out before the tide comes in and eats your car.

Driving down there is only for very skilled drivers, real offroad vehicles and good recovery gear.
we did it with 2 Land cruisers on 35" wheels and 0.6 Bar tire pressure and used 2 sets of maxtrax to get out.

DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT GOING DOWN HERE WITH A VAN OR HEAVY VEHICLE!

came from mauritania with bicycle - no Problem, fast. Maybe you need to wait some minutes until the boats fill up. Paid 20 MRU
for crossing (they try to charge 200!). Possible to change money but on very bad rates.
