we took the route in our truck camper a few days after some rain. we asked in town whether it's passable and got opposite opinions. It seems that if it hasn't rained for 3-4 days the route is dry enough to drive on. We stayed in RWD and never needed to engage the 4x4 but there were definitely some sketchy sections.

Two sites with pavilions and picnic tables and two others without. Right on the shore of Lake Francis Case, a lake created by a dam on the Missouri River. It’s outside Lake Andes SD. There is a self service pay station. $11.67/ night. Pit toilets. No other amenities.

Nice campsites with not much privacy but as we were the only one there, it was wonderful. There is 2 separated campgrounds, and each has 3 campsites. Braii and power available. Little river running just next to us. Lovely place and very quiet. Bathrooms were clean and well aranged and the hot shower in the morning was wonderful. We were welcomed by 2 very friendly dogs. Little MTN internet 4G signal in the afternoon, how disapeared in the evening. Weird but maybe due to loadshading...
Firewood is 30 R. We paid 300 for 2 people, as we didnt need power. Nice place.

Boat launch next to lake with big parking lot. No signs that say “no camping”. Great view, super quiet. Police drove by mid day but didn’t stop to ask any questions. Slept one night here no problem. Could probably squeeze two or three nights if you’re not very loud. Cottages near by so be considerate.

On the way to the crocs, this the piste to take, just follow the riverbed.
So many birds, the greenish water and palm trees, amazing!

Here ends the piste for car, big rovks everywhere that prevents further driving into the gorge, no croqs but very beautiful!

Beautiful silent area, rocks, overlooking the crocodiles from the top of the waterfall ( very dry and 42 degrees. The birds singing and chattering and chirping is amazing!
Easy to find, the walk I mean, the piste is a different story cause the wind erased a lot of the tracks.
To this scenery there is a 90% rocky road

Quiet site just off the reservoir near the airport. Access is over a gravel road, with a few potholes.
Access should be ok for all sizes.

tidy nice place along a shoreline- couple of surfers
Big difference between low & high tides so be aware where you park
Best stay exactly here but you can wonder around- wet sand ok to drive
The place is totally FREE- do not bother with guys who want money- simply „no“
The chief of the beach is an older man- really lovely one- he says the playa is for everyone (there is a sign too that! Like everywhere in Mexico)

We stay here for a few days, enjoying the nature. Randy and Kenton are so friendly and helpful. Talking about everything is always possible if there where out on there yard. You have to see the amazing Action Figures Trail on the farm. A lot of animals live as well here: bantam chickens, runner ducks, the lovely Molly (Dogue de Bordeaux), sheeps, neck pheasants.

A small hardware store off downtown. The tank is in a small parking lot. Larger RVs might have a hard time getting in and out. Otherwise, nice place to do business.

This is the second entrance with the orange flags to the cascades. this trail is far more beatifull and adventures than the first entrance ( flat and easy walk). We also stay overnight near the river. friendly people and on a week day, quiet and were we the only ones.

Nice secluded place to park overnight in the wilderness. Sign says do not block gate but nothing about overnight parking. Cloud be a bit muddy in the rainy months, but overall a good spot.

We stayed here a few nights in our sprinter and it was a great spot. No local music late into the night, which can happen anywhere and is hit or miss. We would stay again! Port-a potties available but they were too full to use, gross. May have just been for Easter weekend. Garbage cans were plentiful.

Looks like a private property!! The road makes a turn left in a private driveway and also continues straight ahead but it's kind of sketchy as it's look more like a ATV road. I wouldn't recommend trying it out even if on Google maps it looks like the road continues. There's also a sign saying "private"property" at the entrance of the road on the left...

We went the other way as we were looking for another spot and checked the other entrance as the map shows it's a through road but forget about it!! It's a small bridge that's is definitely not in good shape and there's 2 signs stating it's a private property... So unfortunately, I have to close this spot!!

Awesome spot right in the middle of the greatest riding Warner valley has to offer. Super quiet at night, a few people cruising by or folks shooting in the distance. Nothing out of the ordinary.

We spent two calm nights here. The owner and his wife are so friendly and warmly. There is a shower, flush toilet, sink to do the laundry, water to refill and if you are lucky you can join a maya ceremony. Close to the market and also pet friendly.
