Amazing spot ! Sunset was terrific. 2 others campers were spending the night. During high season, i would recommand to arrive early enough in order to secure the place ;)
Quite clean, please leave no trace to secure this wanderful and authorized spot!

We visited the cave (free and not much to see but still interesting) and then asked permission to stay for the night since it was raining and didn't want to camp in the mud (we are in a 2wd van). The Peshmerga are all very kind and gave us food, water and tea. Toilets available, didn't see any shower, maybe in their quarters but we didn't enter.
No cell phone reception.

Check point where we've been stopped going towards Gore Valley. They say the road is collapsed and it's not possible to proceed further now.

According to multiple Mosul guides it is not possible to buy tickets at Hatra gate. So tickets must be bought in Mosul at the moment. Maybe this will change again in the future.

This ticket office is temporarily closed, probably because of major road works in front of the office. They expect it to be open again in a week or so.

Temporary ticket office is located at: 36.337909, 43.138648. Still 25.000 per ticket.

we ended up finding a different spot on the drive to this one & stayed there instead as it was less driving! had a picnic table, fire pit & was by the creek. very nice! some people had left some trash there from the day before which was unfortunate but we cleaned it up!

Not scenic, but very quiet and peaceful, a good one night stop. One trailer already there, then nobody else. The surrounding WMA offers nice walks around camp. No amenities, good cell service.

Inside the airport and upstairs is the migration office. Here you can apply for a visa extension. You need a photocopy of the main page and entry stamp and show your physical passport. There's a photocopy service in the architects office in the food court. They give you a piece of paper which you need to take to a specific bank to pay the fee. It's two stops on the tram to the bank. You need to be in Ecuador between 80-90 days to apply for the extension. If you have a vehicle, bring the extension to the aduana nearby to get your TIP extended.
Edit: for the TIP extension you will need a "record migratorio". This needs to be requested from the same migration office and costs $5 which had to be paid at the same bank. Save yourself a lot of time by asking for this when you ask for the visa extension.

Very great spot. Clean and quiet, you can make a fire easily. We came with a big rig and spend the night without trouble

Great for cyclists to spend some time, take a hot drink, and warm up by the fire. Pet friendly (and all the dogs here are super friendly). Nice staff.

Nice place! Private room costs ARS$15,000 (US$15). Place to park one or two motorcycles, but you have to ride up a ramp through a doorway.

Cool atmosphere.

No breakfast when I was here, but coffee and tea is available.

Interesting place where you can use a small makeshift vessel to put your car across the Rioni into a beautiful valley. Wasn't working when I went but I guess it's due to it being a bank holiday.

Great little spot for one night. Got here at 8:30 - 9 PM and stayed one night. Wouldn’t recommend staying here for more than that. 3 bars LTE for Verizon.

Nice place for bioluminescence tour in kayak. We were a group of 11 persons and managed to negociate a 2 hours tours for $30 per person.
We were well welcomed by all the team. We ate at their restaurant after the tour. It was delicious.
It’s possible to take a shower and to refill the the tank with water. You can sleep in the street, it’s a dead end street.

What a fantastic place to camp. Great sites, all with a tap , power and a braai. Staff are wonderful , ablutions spotless and cannot fault it. In a leopard protected area too which is great . Also the Wild Card is accepted even though it’s a Cape Parks reserve . Cost for 2 people and a big rig truck , with a wild card was R210 for the night in total

A large campground, dispersed camping style meaning no facilities. Some fire rings at some sites. High desert and secluded. Easily accessible on dirt roads. No issues in our 2WD campervan.

I find the site very rustic. It’s grand for one night, if you stay longer ensure you have your own facilities.
The chaps are friendly and accommodating but not thinking about the basics of a campsite.
There is a water tap outside the entrance to the loo and shower cubicles. With a little effort they could plumb the toilet and shower into the water source. Shame, site has potential.
