To update, this was a fantastic stretch of road after crossing the Banyo border.

Tibati > Yoko was perfect tarmac with twists and turns not seen since Morocco. Very enjoyable. The tarmac now extends a lot further past Yoko approx 80km to around Mankim. From here there is about 40km of ‘construction road’ with hard packed tracks from trucks and some muddy(ish) diversions around unfinished bridge sections. After this is a mix of good/unfinished tarmac and fresh new road until you hit Yaoundé.

Completely recommend this route over Banyo > Bafoussam.

………

Camping Reserva - we were very well received and welcomed by Carine and Chico! The campsite has women's and men's bathrooms, hot water, refrigerator, microwave and Wi-Fi, power points and drinking and mineral water straight from the mountains!

It is more isolated, in the middle of forest! Near to a preservation area! You can see monkeys on the trees ! Excellent for rest! just 5km from the city center of Santa Teresa!

As described the pool is splendid the shower cold and toilet is clean. 30,000 pesos for the night for two people and the vehicle. 10,000 pesos each to use the pool.
We came south on the freeway toward Calí and the exit is marked CALLEJON ARAGON on a big green sign on the left lane. 50 meters up the unpaved lane and turn left at the white gateposts and you’ll see the camp 50 meters back on the right under a large tree. We found a level spot for our van in front of the building where there are armchairs to sit out on the porch. WiFi is average.

Very nice spot, opposite the dog park, in front of the little lake with the fountain. Quiet and convenient.

Good place to patch, sew, repair clothing and riding gear.

The lady fixed a zipper, replaced some worn out Velcro, and sewed some loose seams for a reasonable price. Same day, or one day service, depending on how much work you need.

On Google it's called "Modista Rosita", but the sign says "Clínica de la Ropa."

A free place where you can rest in peace and then continue your journey... Residents of the surrounding houses are friendly and always willing to help. Nearby there is an auto mechanic workshop where, in addition to friendly service, you also have free internet. Experienced off road driver and 4x4 vehicle enthusiast. Welcome!🙂

Overnight truck stop, weigh scale. At the time of post, May 2024 there were no signs indicating overnight stays prohibited. Currently used by a carbon protest rally, free coffee and chat, campfires burning 24/7. Very friendly inviting people and plenty of places to park up, hassle free overnight! Stop in and be a part of something meaningful and special! A&W, gas, showers and wifi access from the weigh scale just down the access road.

Such a beautiful place! You can camp directly at the beach (where you can plug in) and we had the beach for ourselves. You can stay in nature with having everything you need (clean facilities, well equiped kitchen, super nice owner and employees and Starlink internet). Monkeys and sloths come by and they have very nice dogs.

5 free US Forest Service campsites in a loop off a gravel road with pull offs for horse trailers, each with a picnic table, fire ring, and lantern post. There's a vault toilet but water isn't available. There a mix of car campers, tents, and horse trailers here. Be prepared to vacate the camp if a bunch of horse trailers arrive but there's no signage prohibiting non-equestrian use. Intermittent 4 & 5G signal here

Day pass is $29 for adults. Allows in/out access until they close (9pm). Facility has several hot spring fed pools, a couple water slides, and are building a lap pool and kiddie pool currently. They also have a gym and rock climbing wall and optional massages and classes. Expensive, but there is a lot on offer if you take advantage of it. I felt fully recharged after a brutal 14hr day of driving through the Midwest/plains. Worth the money if you have a half day+

City campground on north side of Shelby. About (30) back in and (10) pull thru locations. 30A electrical. There is water here & there around the sites. Pay attention to the nozzles locations when you choose a site. There is a free dump station. I see no reason one couldn’t dump on their way north to Canada. We have stopped here twice and both times there were available sites. Bathhouse has free showers. Lots of prairie dogs to watch.

Just a simple campground with picnic table, fire pit and BBQ at each site. Also has water at each site but it is not yet turned on. Free until Monday when they open for season. Then $10/night, or half off with senior pass.
