Could have made it in here, but chose to hike down first, the potholes are significant for 2X and low clearance, presently. Beautiful place. Lots of level spots with water views. Like no TMobile. Just didn't want the white-knuckle, "try to make it in here" experience this time. 2016 Transit 350 extended, with extended rear carrier, it was hard to turn around back there.

as described, level and right on a really nice lake. but also right on a very active logging and atv road and you *will* be consistently dusted between 7a and 6p

Day pass is $20 for California residents. $10 for out of state. $20 is a bit steep for a shower.

The buildings on the Guatemala side are undergoing renovation so prepare for a little more chaos than usual, process seems unchanged from earlier reports.

Earlier reports are mostly accurate. If you are going from Guatemala into Belize stay to the left...
There is another exit off to the right around the far side of a big warehouse building but that exit is only for Semi-trucks.

As you hang to the left exiting the Belize compound...
There will be a small "pillbox" sized building maybe 12' x 12' in the middle of the parking lot.
As you pass it look 90 degrees to your right. You will see a fenced in area off to the side with a cluster of small buildings in it. One of the buildings in the middle will have signage that says ICB (Insurance Corporation of Belize) the logo is in black & Red.

THAT is where I bought my (mandatory) vehicle insurance. The agent was very friendly and the process was easy... EXCEPT I didn't know where to go.

Came here to check it out but did not end up staying. We tried to call the store to ask about sleeping but nobody answered the phone on every try. There was a super dodgy car parked up, missing half the parts and running a generator, another meth lab looking rv so we decided to leave and parked up at holiday inn instead. There are “no overnight” signs posted, so I’m not sure if they’re enforced.

We camped there for a night on our way to Portland with our 30 feet class C. Perfect spot. Nice view and there is a fire pit. We can hear a little bit the freeway but it didn’t bother us.

Cops pulled us over, checked TIP documents and original drivers license. I had to pay them 200Q for not having a front license plate. Didn’t feel unsafe. The border didn’t even care about front license place so this felt like a gringo tax

You can get most of the way with 2wd, however to get a beach view you will need 4wd. We stayed 2 nights on the hard ground on the side of the track. All of the beach bars were closed when we visited "low season" apparently, we came with our own food anyway. 4g signal with Africell on the beach

500 for 2 people per night, cash only to pay. Good ablutions and quite tidy, although we struggled to get our car level on our site. hang out with your laundry whilst it dries at your site, the birds are adorable but they like to hang out on your washing line... and will sh#t on everything. this camp has all the amenities you need, although it lacks character.

We did the same for three nights. Although it takes a while on the subway to get to the city and it is a bit weird to sleep on a commuter parking lot, we were happy that we could leave our van safe and sound, and did not have to pay huge amounts for parking. Also, quite quiet and probably less road noise than street parking places closer to the centre.
No public toilets, but indeed a Target (open from 7am to 10 pm) and Starbucks nearby.

Stayed three nights. Beautiful grounds. Stayed in site #6. Camp Host and Reese (camp dog) was friendly and helpful. Shower house dirty, water was warm. Sewer dump station near entrance. No cell service. Two swimming areas and a boat ramp. Will stay again.

What a gem of a spot. We were alone on a Tuesday. Saw a few whales, seals in the morning. Not noisy and isolated behind the rock. A few locals came by, some fishing and one for a swim and they were fine with us being there. Please keep it clean!

Stayed there for one night, manage to 25 p.p. Hot shower, shared bathroom, good beds and surprisingly good WiFi. Large garage to storage the bike. Friendly onwer.
Only bad point is that the restaurants are a little bit far from it (not a lot of options but still).
Definitely recommend if you want to split your trip from la Paz to Copacabana.

Nice large flat clearing surrounded by the forest with fire ring. 5 other campers on a Monday in early June so very likely crowded on weekends. Nice views and plenty of space.

Spots closer to the coast now have no camping signs just about everywhere so came here just after sunset. One other camper parked in front of us. Right outside of an apartment complex so left around 7 when people started getting up for work. Fine for a night.

Really beautiful place, nice campground for 35$ all included just except wood bundles if you want make a fire, close to the creek and lake, with view on the town, quite place with a lot of place for cars. Gate is closing from 11-7h, we didn’t need to have a reservation for our one night stay but it was quite full, from 10 pm no noise or music allowed. Definitely coming back ;)

It's not the dream spot but it did well for us who were still too long from Santiago to arrive at a decent hour. We arrived late and had no noise from the night. So much so that we went at 10am! That is to say that it was quiet despite the proximity of the road!
