Not a nice place to stop... Better to stop north of this spot, at one of the small side tracks. South from here there are many villages, so the only option we found was a few kilometres before the gate, at a track towards the Nanzhila plains.

All still good, pleasant spot, some locals came for a barbecue and invited me to join, they left after a couple of hours

Fabulous campsites. Part of Sanparks. Level with loads of shade trees. Close to Augrabies waterfalls. Each with own braai. Need a long electrical cord as some sites is far from the connection point. Very nice walking trails. Once again very friendly staff. Laundry machines that work with R15 a load.

Several RVs here tonight. Not much noise after 8PM. Eat and drink nearby.

Nice views. Vault toilets. No trash cans or dumpsters. Finding lots of trash. 2 bars t mobile. Drive up warms of 17% grade. My awd mini van did fine. What you would expect from an atv play area but with a good view.

Two large paved lots with one street light at the corner. Pit toilets, trash bin, and picnic shelter. I arrived late on Friday night. A few folks were out on the OHV trails until well after midnight but I did not hear them from the parking area. No one bothered me. Got a good night's sleep.

Probably the nicest place we stayed along the Alcan. Wi-Fi was working at the office and the deck outside where you can relax and do your Internet thing.

Nice shady campground along the North Rim. Pit toilets and potable water.

Large sunny pullout on the road up to the campground. Full bars ATT cellular. Spot could fit multiple big rigs but the road up is steep and windy, I'm not sure if big rigs or trailers could make it. Road up is paved, spot firm flat gravel.

Small free rec site on a small lake. 3 sites, right by the road. nothing special, just a quiet spot to come fish. road access is rocky and single lane for a bunch of it, 4x4 isn't needed, but would make most people feel better. the mozzies were INSANE. no cell coverage.

Such a nice place to stay the night! Beautiful scenery and nice and quiet. The horses are beautiful, everyone is so so nice! The breakfast was delicious and all the facilities were so clean and convenient! Showers were very clean and hot. Perfect place to stay if you’re in the area! And only 46$ for hookup site with rv!

We saw the police but they didn't stop cars

Do not follow Google to get here. Coming from Campbell River there is a sign approx 1km before the google turn off to the right. This is Strathcona dam road. Take that signed road and the follow the signs after that. This is a lovely spot with toilets, rubbish bins and nice flat spots. We went to the original (now closed) Strathcona dam site and think it was nicer and so much bigger but this is OK. There is a camp host here and trees for shade, no mobile phone signal and, being a long weekend, very busy.

Must be after 10:30pm. If you come earlier, the lights will be on, and they are BRIGHT. Safe, mostly quiet. I have camped here 3 separate times now, and I have not been disturbed once. On the side of the parking lot furthest from the King Soopers, closer to the Beyond Thai. Do NOT park in the main lot. Happy camping.

Good to stay for one night. The people inside are very nice. Restrooms are clean. Gas here or at QT is most affordable in the area. Firewood for any overlanders that also do outdoor camping. A little noisy but manageable.

Crossed from Georgia to Armenia. Leaving Georgia quick and easy, entering Armenia a more tedious process taking approx. 3 hours. Border staff were friendly but worked slowly, with many repetitive steps - vehicle documents checked and slowly entered into computer systems 6 times!!

The process is as described by previous check-ins, my vehicle was additionally sent for x-ray. Including bank commission, temporary import and environmental fee for a UK registered van was 9,800 AMD by cash or card.

After waiting 30 minutes for the insurance agent to show up, we were charged 4,000 AMD for 10 days insurance for a UK registered van. He insisted it was cash only, even though the ASWA website he was using clearly had options for card payment. Eventually he relented and accepted card payment.

2-3 acre graveled lot. Much better than the trailhead lot right on top of the highway 1-2 miles south of here. Same exit as for Dumont Lake Campground. Has vault toilet.

It’s literally just a water tap to probably water all the flowers around it. Tastes yucky. Wouldn’t consider it drinking water.

Nice spot. Spend two nights. Quite during night, some traffic during the day. 5 miles ahead from Painted Hills.

A site is now $30/night with no services. Lots of full timers here, some sites are pretty sketchy, but was a quiet spot to spend the night. The campground shares space with what appears to be a fishing lodge. Small store on site. There is also a movie and book lending box if you need some entertainment while there. Lake is apparently fully stocked with trout.

This place was great. I feel the other reviews are a bit misleading. You can fit a good size van or even a class C RV here. We have an Extended Wheelbase Sprinter which fit no problem. The approach was very easy and it was pretty flat.
