The price is 5.000 per person. The camping sites are closer than the beach, and you can see the Corcovado volcano. It's clean and tidy.
The camping has a shelter to eat or just stay and it has electricity. It's pet friendly and doesn't have wifi. Recommended for families with children and people who want to be disconnected.

Perfect place for staying a few days. Quit, lot of fire pits, enough place for tents and caravans and a fastantic view at the Nahuel huapi lake. Supermarkets and stores are close, and good phone/internet signal.

We put our tent on the tiled and covered esplanade close to the Mekong. Very beautiful sunset. We asked the monks to sleep and we used the temple's toilets and showers. The spot is right next to a small harbor where locals cross the border. A man is sleeping in the shelters opposite, surely to monitor the port, he can give you driking water.

very nice spot. Perfect for cyclists.
A buffalo family visited us in the evening.
The water is a little stagnant in the dry season but we washed there and we filtered the water to drink it. No problem

Leaving Mexico by bicycle, after flying in to Cancun with our bicycles. We had not paid our 575 peso tourist tax yet, so the guy in this booth had us pay it to him in cash. No receipt given, and we didn't ask. He exit-stamped our passports and kept the little papers we had been issued on entry.

Two months later, we entered Mexico again, and they saw in their computer system that our entry at Cancun had been recorded, but not our exit. And the exit stamps in our passports were too vague to read. So I suspect that the guy at this office pocketed our 575 x2 pesos and didn't enter our exit into the system. Not a problem for us if we weren't coming back to Mexico, but we did enter Mexico again and had some complications due to this POS who took our money. He should have sent us back to the last town to pay the tourist tax at a bank. Now we will have to pay the tourist tax a 2nd time and also a fine for losing the little slips of paper.

we agree: nothing special. the place is cozy but even the most simple taco's on the street taste better. poor service too. we left after first round to fill our bellies at a better place.

Ferry is still here. Easy process, just pull up and wait for the boat, more or less every hour. Costs are 7k for individual passengers and 40k for our van (with two passengers, not sure if the passenger price is factored in or what).

This is the "far" side of the ferry between the Argentine border and Asuncion, Paraguay. Saves an hour plus when driving to or from the border. 40k guaraníes for our vehicle and two passengers. Seems like the ferry leaves the "far" side on the hour and from the city side on the half hour, mas o menos.

Indeed very popular and busy hike, but still worth it in our opinion. It’s 11km one way (first 3km with moderate accent, then 6km almost flat with some nice views of the Fitzeroi and the last 2km quite steep accent)
We left 8am at the trail head and arrived 11:30 with not too many people at the lake (yet).

One of many pull offs in the KOFA National Wildlife Refuge area. This one is small & sandy, recommended for 4WD vehicles. We stayed in a Jeep Renegade w/ a Roofnest (RTT). Cacti, bushes, and mountains all around. Very quiet & peaceful. About a 15-20 min drive down dirt road coming from the West.

Would have been great but very neglected and run down.
Campsite on river setting is lovely but bring a big ground sheet it’s under thorn trees and not very even under foot
Ablutions were not “working” but think that’s because the staff were sleeping in the bandas and using this block.
They opened a chalet for us to use but the water was very dirty.
Pity it’s a great setting and could be a really nice spot.

Slept here one night. Too noisy because of the river but that’s free and cool if you wanna do a break during your hike inside the park. There is a bad smell because of the toilets.

There are 2 ways to see Rainbow Mountain.
- This location it's the first car park of the road that goes through Pitumarca. It's not the new road, but the end it's new. After Pitumarca it's a dirty road. I don't recommend to drive on this road with a motorhome. I guess it's possible but I'm sure it will be hard, long and stressful. When it's wet there is a lot of mud. Sometimes it's narrow with a ravine, steep and there are some holes and (big) stones on the road. We did it with a fast taxi (100 s return) in 1h20 up way. At the top there is this first car park (4440 m) after that you pay 10 s/vehicule to continue on an other (new) road. At the end you have the last and closer car park. After you have about 1h20 of walk to the viewpoint (2 km but you walk very, very slowly with altitude). It's the same viewpoint that the other way from Cusipata. At the top you can buy (hot) drinks and (hot) food. You can also ride if you don't want (can) walk (50s one way, 70s return. You can pay 10s if you catch a horse who goes down on the way). You always have to walk at the last ascent.
We paid 10s for 4 the entrance (2 adults and 2 children 3 and 5 years old) just a few meters before the view point.
- The second way (the new one but I'm not sure that the road is in better condition ?) goes through Cusipata. We didn't take this way. We saw their car park from the view point and it looks a little bit further but their path looks a little bit level.

As described except they asked for 200 pesos. I talked them down to 150 but now feel guilty with as nice as the place is. Nicest bathrooms of the trip since entering Mexico. Even after talking them down, they were as nice as could be. Gabriel personally shows me around and introduced me to their friends at the pool. I will probably give them the other 50 pesos in the morning because I now feel guilty. I'm the only one camped here so far. Picture of pool area from my van. Some mosquitos about. good LTE service.

In February the campsite in the park was closed because a storm had made it useless. They couldn't tell me when it will be reopened.
I continued to Guamini Campsite, 67 km, delightful position on a laguna.

Very quiet border! We were the only ones there (Arg to Chile). They checked our vehicle but people were very friendly. Highly recommend taking this border crossing instead of the over crowded one at San Sebastian. On top of that, the route is way more beautiful than the ruta 3. As they have built a new bridge, it is accessible for bigger rigs as well. Be smart and save time, take this border crossing!

Do yourself a favor by saving time and taking the border crossing at Bella Vista instead. Less crowded, faster, more friendly and a way more beautiful ride.
