Ricardo, the owner, is an excellent person and a great mechanical professional. He always kept the costs low. He even took me to San Diego to several yonke looking for parts. The account has a post office box to receive purchases in San Isidro. Unbeatable experience, we repair our Mercedes benz t1 1983. He knows about old European cars too.

Visited during the off season (November) and we were the only souls in this massive dispersed area. Camped right on the shoreline. Beautiful spot, and well worth the drive. The stars at night was bananas. Access is from the north via Notom-Bullfrog/Burr trail or 276, or via Hall's ferry to the south. Once inside GCNRA gate it's a quick left onto the campground road. Campground roads are packed gravel or dirt, not sandy like at Lone Rock. Some mild rock obstacles, but manageable by any vehicle with modest clearance. No amenities other than pit toilet, sign at the top recommends bringing a portable toilet if camping away from the pit toilets (most of the best sites are far). $12 a night +/- $25 if you don't have an annual interagency pass.

Super nice place! Beautiful large house with beautiful big (fenced) garden. We could park our Landcruiser in de garden, sleep in the car and use the hot shower, toilet (both European style & squad) and breakfast inside. Everything is kept clean very well and you can see they put a lot of love & effort in this place. The owner speaks English well and is very kind, he now takes care of this place what used to be his grandfathers house. We payed €5,- per night for two persons incl breakfast, sleeping in our own car.

Raining hard, road work, and washed out road meant I walked the last bit just to check it out. no point to risk to drive on a narrow slick track that drops-off over a meter on each side. Camping is now in the parking area plenty of room for a big rig and (if not for the washed out road) easy access. we went to backpackers much nicer here. Road to backpackers is tar.

This is a great, safe and quiet camp ground. The perfect starting point to visit Barcelona, shopping centre only a 5minute walk. The train station less than 10minute walk and the train will take you right into the center of Barcelona.

We had such a fantastic time here. The people running the place are awesome. They made us feel like five star guests, made us feel very welcome and even did an openair cinema for the kids. Fantastic place, great local kids to play with. Felt like a holiday while traveling.

Camping takes place in the garden of the house, which is in a street with similar lots and varying types of houses (from regular dwellings to villas).

The road is pretty busy during this Sunday afternoon, and traffic kept on flowing during the night. The dogs will react to some vehicles and/or pedestrians, and start a barking contest with the neighbors. There's a bar of some kind across the street that plays loud music (maybe just weekends).

Not a place for a quiet night (for 50+ year old people who go to sleep early), nor for just a stopover.

The caretaker is a very nice person and he makes all kinds of artisanal goods from natural materials like seeds and twigs. We liked the bracelets and earrings.

Campers share the 'kitchen' and the bathroom with the (3) inhabitants of the house.

This place is a great opportunity to support these artists by buying some of their work (the money for camping goes to the owners across the street).

Paid 10,000 COP per person (per night), 110V electricity included.

Good spot. Great kiteboarding, friendly staff. Cold shower, pets ok. Spent 2 days here. Kiteboarding lessons are a little steep imo American prices but hey it’s a business and it’s a good location. Mozzies not to bad late November. Just a bit a dusk. Not a campground but I think if more people tried they may incorporate something to accommodate overlanders.

We came on a Sunday afternoon not really expecting to see anything but yep, about 5 guys in the water with nets, and dolphins swimming about herding the fish. It's a slow process and not very dramatic, but super cool!! The long beach on the other side is beautiful too. Lots of parking along the promenade and her on the spit (this area is very busy though. We parked further out and walked here.)

On the North end of town, this is a nice quiet space with lots of grassy flat areas and with a gate right onto the beach. not suitable for big rigs but our van was fine and tents would be perfect. There are hot showers and a kitchen but they're kind of sketchy- that's the first time I've commented on poor facilities in over a year (though they are also in the process of building new ones)! There's an excellent supermarket just up the road, some tiny restaurants in town but they 're only open for lunch. This beach is pretty wild but it's a lovely walk south to Matadeiro beach which was perfect. Also there's a good trek inland to the lake, then left to a swimmable waterfall. 40r for 2 people+van.

Small house close by the police "check point". The owner was at the check point. We bought 30l. Really friendly. But as usual over here, don't rely on it, it doesn't look like they have diesel all the time.

Animals everywhere: sheep, lam, beef, chicken, dogs, condors, horses,...We were in camper van, stay only one night and get a ride of horse non planned in the morning, was 2000 pesos. At the moment the penguins are hatching their eggs and if you are lucky you can see the young ones under the mother. Still 550 P pp, kids under 6 are free. The bathrooms next to the visitors center are very clean, the ones by the pinguinere are just disgusting. Right next to the place where you have to show your tickets, before you enter there is free wifi (chubut wifi). Road to Punta Tombo and continuing to Camarones (1) is very good.

Great place, a bit windy (no shelter), but the view is great and even with a few overlanders their it doesn‘t get crowded, lots of space, really quiet just next to the elephant seals. No facilities.

I turned up at 5.30pm on a Sunday to ask of they had a room for 1. The sour puss old lady said no. She has rooms for 3 people only! Ar$1500 per night. Clearly expecting a late rush for rooms. Obviously I moved on.

WARNING! This road has really rough terrain! Don’t come with trailer! We didn’t actually make it to top because of a huge fallen tree in the way. We are now going to have to back down until we can find a way to turn around. I believe it would have been nice at the top though. We made the mistake of coming at night but would have been much safer with daylight.
