A little rough for a prius but i made it to a flat place on this wide lawn. Trail riding groups came through in the evening and early morning, and they sky all night was gorgeous. Significant road noise though, if that’s a concern.

The grass ground and the view from the spot is beautiful. But it seems they have all the time parties. It was very loud. Usually I dont mind but it was way too much.

The lady (owner) is the unfrendliest person I have met in my 2 years stay in Colombia. I was even greeting her and she just stared at me weirdly saying nothing. Strange vibe!! We wont go back there.

However, No overnight camping from May to October.
Parking lot and toilets available until 10pm.

We arrived on a Tuesday, but nobody was around. So we drove on and by chance, stopped at restaurant Rancho Edén which was closed as well (see iov entry).
Both places belong to Ronaldo and Daisy, so Tuesday is their day off !
After spending a night at the car park of the restaurant and having a delicious breakfast and a special cacao tour, we went back to this little camping and enjoyed a few days here (3'000c/person/night). Wifi is available. Small covered seating area with sink, toilets and showers 50m away.
There are 3 nice cabinas for rent, also. 25'000c/night for 2 people, 5'000c/additional person.

under used trailhead right off rt-1. stayed last night and there was some traffic noise but i was rewarded with a hike along the river this morning. during my hike i noted this trailhead seems the least used (based on number of vehicles).

Cell: had 2 bars of verizon 4G but it was sufficent for my phone hotspot to allow me to work.

Plenty of space to park and tent camp with fire rings at designated sites. Multiple outhouses up and down the road. It was pretty busy but no shortage of spots, everyone was pretty spread out. 1-2 bars Verizon throughout. Would stay here again!

Large space in the woods just past the lost Creek bridge. Near several great hiking destinations.

This spot is INCREDIBLE. Be careful you don't get stuck in the sand and when going back up the hill to get back on the highway take it really slow. I tried to fly up the hill cause I thought I wouldn't make it otherwise and everything fell out of literally everywhere. You can see many people have had a hard time getting back up lol.

Free dump station, but donations accepted. Also has potable water. Note: rinse water hose has a leak.

Wild camping near the spillway of Slide Lake. Road that has been reported as “terrible” is under construction - looks like it’l be paved up past this point. Was perfectly smooth for our journey up, but had to wait for and follow a pilot car for several miles to avoid construction vehicles.

We arrived mid-afternoon, and essentially all of the 6 or 7 decent sites were taken. Fortunately some day-users occupying the site along the lake shore left and we took that site.

Really nice wide spot to pull over and enjoy the river. Some garbage bins, no toilets that we could see. The road is super curvy and a lot of accidents happen on this road. Lots of soft shoulders, and elk in the area.

Rest spot, gravel, no garbage no toilets but a good place to pull over. Doesn’t look too level. Nice bridge not to far away. Lots of pull off areas near bridge

Big area off of highway, lots of room for semi trucks and RVS to park. Some garbage bins. Right by the beautiful river! Road is very curvy and dangerous going towards Fort Nelson

Nice spot off of the highway to rest, garbage bins. Beautiful River is right beside the spot. Hidden behind trees. Big enough for 2-3 RVS

Small fuel station, gas and diesel. Pump first - pay after. Only when lodge store is open - open 6:30am-9:00pm

It used to be nicer than the Riverside just next to it but unfortunately they suffered a lot of the Covid crisis and the owner needs to be aware of your arrival in advance so that she can buy food etc... I tried to call her many times but no answer. We went then to the Riverside which was a lot nicer.

Highly recommended! Beautiful place to sleep (I wouldn't sleep in a tent as we saw hippos crossing the hotel). No hot water but electricity, nice mosquito net, breakfast and food good and consistent, network available. Juma the owner is a really helpful guy.We broke one of our tyre and helped us a lot to get a new one etc. He has cars himself and can organise with him as guide in the park. We spoke Swahili most of the time but his English seems pretty ok.

Water tap on restroom side is the one that works. Confirmed it was ok to fill up. BYO hose but 10’ is long enough.

My stay was very pleasant. The services and amenities exceeded my expectations.The attention is excellent. The lakeview is amazing, and the facilities allow a contact with nature that completely renews you.
This is a highly recommended Site.

not so much a warning! due to reconstruction this is as far as you can drive and from here there is a bus service to the cable car activities. no date of completion or other information other than Temperado .
all the campsots are off limits.unless you stay behind the gate after 16.30 and you dont mind construction trucks all day.
