One of the best spot in which it is. Super accessible for all types of vehicle. Movement during the day. Absolute tranquility at night. You can access showers and bathrooms a few meters in the campsite. At the horseshoe entrance there is a "shopping" you can also use the bathroom and the wifi of the subway. We spent a week without problems.

all descriptions are accurate, big parking lot with huge spots, no need to check in but a security guard does make rounds. they are still giving you $10 per person in player money if you spend $10 of your own. and the restaurant at the casino has a really good breakfast special every day, $7.77 steak and eggs. it was tasty! close to redwood national park too, so tons of places to explore.

15,000ugx for camping in gravel lot. Access to use kitchen area for cooking (must have own supplies but nice tables and sink available inside out of wind/cold) and nearby showers. We arrived after dark and left before light so can't say much else for scenery.
Also, not sure if this is helpful for anyone else but we drove past the 1900 COVID curfew time and all police interactions during the drive (3) were among the friendliest of the whole trip and waved us through with no issues.

Really nice lake and location
We fix our 40ft skoolie in there no problem
Bring wood as it’s $10 for a small amount
$20 per night, park guides come through twice a day to collect.
Best day to come is on a Sunday as it seems, if you want a lake view site. Local people get pretty intense about getting a lake site. As a lot of locals from Fort Nelson come to both strawberry/McDonald campground. But be prepared to not get a spot!… I think some people camp on the roadside and come back to check if people are leaving. You can pay day by day or pay right away when you get there.

Arrive early morning if possible around 6-7am, we arrived on Wednesday at 5pm got the last site by the toilets.

Bugs weren’t that bad, but bring stuff for bugs.
If you are going to go fishing, bring more then enough gear as you can’t buy any close by.
They have a water pump station on site, maybe for drinking water.

Gas station at triple G
Gas station at Rockie Northern Lodge
Can’t buy food really anywhere so make sure you are prepared.
Make sure to bring tools incase of a problem, no service from Fort Nelson all the way to Watson Lake.

Sun doesn’t set until 1am ish in June.
Nice hike trail across the road on the slide.

great place to stop for a night if you're planning on leaving early, we stayed 1 night & a pick up truck pulled by in the am asking if we needed something, apparently it is private property. but the woman in the truck said yeah you're not the first to stay here.

so, fine to stay i believe but just make yourselves sparse as soon as you're rested up.

I was the only one out there with the owner, american guy, very nice. He cooked me some fish he had caught earlier. Some food on the fly, perfect. Cool restaurant, I can tell it's usually full of life.
No wifi. Shower is 50 pesos I recall. The dog on site was super friendly, we played fetch in the water, my dog and her went along well. Slept by my van and kept an eye out for me, super cute.
Not too much wind compared to other places.

This is a great find, with about 7 or 8 sites. Beautiful river views. Clean pit privy. Picnic bench at our site. Quiet. Good spacing between sites.

The stay with the Eden family was great. Our highlight in Mexico. There is a small flat meadow for 2 cars. There is a toilet and a shower. The 4 generation family runs a farm and grows most of the food for their own use. If you speak some Spanish they are very happy to explain the farm. They know a lot about farm work, nature and how to live in harmony with nature. They try to protect and preserve nature.
I recommend the guided tour to their own mirador. They have an incredible knowledge about nature and the forest and the history of the place.
The night cost us 200 pesos for the three of us. Definitely worth it.

Stayed here one night. Lovely dog beach steps away from the parking lot. Last train passed by around 11pm and next day, around 7am. We saw security cars at the Pioneer Parking after 10pm, but they didn’t check this other lot. Clean washroom, potable water and nice park staff!

We had a very good experience of Hippo Bay Campsite. The drive along the lake to get to the campsite was lovely, with the road crowded with puku that impressively lept into the water as we drew near. There were also many hippos lounging about, as the name of the campsite would suggest, as well as water birds and elephants (nearer to the campsite). The campsite had water and power and great open-air grass-walled showers. The campsite is in front of the lake and unfenced, so elephants visited and there were hippos marching about in the night. We spent some time at the nearby Konkamaya Lodge, where we registered for the campsite, both of which are owned and run by Mr. Andrea Porro (Dr., actually: he's a biologist with loads of knowledge about the animals and plants of the area) and Caterina (who creates delicious Italian meals!), who were generous with their excellent conversation, travel advice/assistance and superb coffee. The beautiful lodge structure itself opens onto a yard that hosted, while we were there, a large group of elephants lunching on the surrounding trees; beyond the yard is a great view of the lake, complete with the requisite hippos. The staff members were all very helpful and pleasant. The nearby town of Itezhi Tezhi is handy for supplies, fuel, cash, etc. We recommend a stay at Hippo Bay!

This is an official dispersed camping site with 3 spots. Strand Hill road up to Farris Creek road. This will require a capable 4WD vehicle with clearance to get up here. There are 2 more spots up Farris Creek road but they are even more difficult to get to.

No cell service. Lots of mosquitoes.

Note that as of April 2021, the Crested Butte region is forcing everyone to camp in designated dispersed camping sites in Washington Gulch and other areas closer to the town. Brush Creek and others will be enforced in coming years, but as of now you can still camp in this area wherever you can find a previously used spot as long as you follow the basic rules of dispersed camping. However, you may get the evil eye from locals who do not know the specifics of the rules so it's better to use these designated spots.

Granite Peak RV Resort. We drove up around 5 PM and all of their hookup sites were full, but they had a large field for overflow dry camping for $20/night. They let us fill up our water tanks using a house in front of the office. We were able to use all campground facilities. Very nice, well-maintained place with all the amenities.

Was looking for a place to spend the night and saw this open fence “with a view”. Not hidden from the road, but leveled. There’s a way to park behind the bushes (parallel to the road) but then, not leveled.
The fence seems to be open for a long time already, and it appears to be a place people unload trucks to work on the field, as there were some plants waiting to be put on to the ground.
Some traffic until about 9. Felt safe. Didn’t want to stay at Damasco Village, as entering the community there was a sign saying they were not allowing people in, ‘cause of COVID. Maybe old news, but decided to stay out, in between villages.

Off Jerry’s Flat Road, this spot is about 7 miles from Hwy 101 @ Gold Beach. It is off the road, tucked behind two concrete barriers and in shade. There are no signs. The road is quiet at night. Good spot!

Visited this campground to get a shower. It is tidy and quiet, and looks well managed. Non-guests can purchase a shower, (bring $2 in quarters) for what felt like 8-10 minutes!
