We had a quiet night on this cleared place, next to the hill of stones. You are visible from the dirt road but not directly next to it. Between 6pm and 8:30am nobody passed by.
Good option for a stopover on the way to the coast.

Of you are around and have some time, here are some ruins to explore close to the riverbed. Very nice area.

It is possible to park the car at the top and walk down or drive down, if you have a 4x4 with high clearance. The path is very washed out.

(It also looks like it could be a very nice wildcamp 🤔)

Someone tried breaking in at 1.30am, I said hello and he ran off. The person was trying to steal. I would not recommend sleeping here for the night. I was pretty spooked and had to leave.

The most ridiculous thing we have ever had to pay for and we are still angry about it. Charged us 90 dollars for 2 adults and a vehicle. No card only cash.
These people need to stop ripping Tourists off.

Very nice place to hang out and fish, or stay for a few nights. Many sites past the boat launch. Four dropped off 5th wheels with no vehicles around, just taking up space that others might want to use. Either occupy your site, and stay in your rig or move it somewhere else. Be considerate, don’t be the selfish human that you appear to be to others.

Large gravel parking lot to the left of the college right on Highway 30 which is quiet at night. Please help support the college and visit the Great Hall of Clans museum and live demonstrations, the Craft Shop and attend a Ceilidh at lunchtime or at night on Wednesdays. Nice Bathrooms in a small building next to Craft shop.

Crossed from Paraguay to Argentina today. The queue seemed to be pretty long, but they worked fast. All in all maybe 1.5h. Friendly officers that even made an x-ray scan of our camper, but let us proceed with all food and vegetables.

Large established campground with full hook ups for RVs and a separate tents only section.

Right on the water, has a beach, clean showers, clean bathrooms, good Verizon service.

Would definitely come again, the spaces were large, clean and had fire pits and the staff was friendly!

Side street parking right before wellspring at end of road. There are quite a few cars parked without any permits or anything obvious. I don’t see any no parking signs in the vicinity! Would be good to come late/leave early or maybe park during the day? Close to Mt. Ranier park

The large, paved, official viewpoint is definitely still open and usable as an overnight. Only the gravel area below is closed. See attached map - red slash is where the dirt track is blocked. Green circled area is good to go. Another dirt track from the parking lot may be accessible to high clearance vehicles.

Stayed one night but you could definitely stay a few. This specific spot has room for several vehicles and offers lots of shade. Since this is a wildlife management area, it’s critical to leave no trace!

Road is getting better. As for today, around two 7km sections are now tarmac and the rest is being worked on. We managed to go through even with our sedan car, but brace yourself, it will take a while. Still it took us about 1,5 hours from the gate to the junction.
We spoke to someone on site and he said the road should be finished in two weeks, so hopefully by the end of October, it will be tarmac for the whole 22km :)
