By far our best camping experience in Patagonia. Route description is acurate, if you're coming from Esquel simply follow in reverse. We were treated by a blazing pink sunset like I have never seen before (see photo)! In the evening we could see and hear the gauchos herding the cattle down below by the lake, in the morning we were treated by their caravan of sheep moving down the road. Can confirm what TalesInVan wrote; the place is private property but the owner will let you camp if you don't build a fire and don't litter. Unfortunately there was some trash, so please let's keep this place available for fellow travelers. It's not that hard to clean up your own trash, people!

Once again we had a great week at Los Cocos. This was our 5th time camping and this beautiful spot. We took our 2nd horseback ride with Marcelo and he gives a great tour. All the vendors were great as always. From produce, seafood, bread, and juice to souvenirs they have it all.

Excelente prestação de serviços, com valor justo e serviço rápido. Tivemos problemas eletronicos com nossa F250, trocamos sensores após diagnóstico eletrônico.

We parked outside for free. 50 cent pp to visit the lagoon, it isn't so nice..  not worth it for us.

Estacionamos afuera gratis. 50 centavos por persona para conocer la laguna, que nisiquiera es tan linda.. no vale la pena para nosotros.

Stayed in the RV lot across from the Cracker Barrel on 4 separate occasions while working in the area. No issues. Many other vans, RVs, and truck campers parked there too.

Fantastic campsite with good washroom and shower facilities - had a lovely hot shower. Lots of beautiful hanging plants and comfortable hammocks around the campsite. Richard welcomed us and was very helpful

Since this is a beach spot, I'd only recommend it if you have 4WD. There's no problem with swimming or getting into the ocean here. It's rocky, but if you have some kind of water shoe it totally works.

Very exposed, not a lot of privacy. Many spots with fire rings, so you’ll definitely find a spot. Road is not great, but possible with a 2WD.

Good for an overnight stop. New city parking regulations limit parking here to 2 nights in any calendar month. See photo of posted sign, including ordinance number.

Just a decent size pull out on the outside of the turn. Place near the Maverick was a bust in winter so we came down the road to find this place.

The “road” to get close to the overlook, wild camping spot, seems to be ever changing but you’ll find a route to reach it that’s flat and a safe distance from the edge.

You’ll hear road noise overnight & the winds might be a bit more than your weather app states coming up the canyon BUT it’s worth it!

Comfortable and affordable Guesthouse in Chamba Valley, in a big and beautiful garden.
Rooms range between 350 and 500 Kw.
Different options are available, incl. rooms with fully equipped kitchen.
AC, cable TV, laundry included.
If you stay longer (or come back) they will give you a discount.

They have two places, which are nearby (200m), but not connected.
At the second place they now have a small chop, and a kitchen, which serves food.
Signposted from the main road!
The access road is in dire state, but will (hopefully) be graded soon.

Highly recommended. Lucy and Luis have created a very homey place despite the remoteness. Lucy met us at the gate and made us feel like old family friends from then on. Warm showers, nice Refugio with wood cook stove, and nice flat grassy spots for tents in the trees with ample wind protection. Many small features that make it downright magical, from interesting woodwork and use of gnarled branches to the “cisnes plasticos” swimming through the irrigation ditch. One decent river to ford by vehicle with a mildly sketchy footbridge for those on cycles or foot. Beautiful views, trails, very clean, and an attentive host - just a few reasons to make the “dificil pero no imposible” trip to Fundo de San Lorenzo.

7500 elevation. Ok campground. Small sites, most fairly close to another and not level. Dirt roads seem soft in spots. Most loops are closed now in the off season. Showers and flush bathrooms closed. Some pit toilets are open. Fantastic sunset.

It's a lodge with campsite from a local NGO that supports projects in Nairobi. Very quiet place, far from the main road.
Rooms also available.
Camping 500 for 2 people.

They have a local bakery and some other local products.

Lovely people, very nice place if your in transit between Mombasa and Nairobi.

Same great place, with some improvements - a new entrance and the common area is fixed up a bit.

Dora as always is accommodating. She took 20 USD in lieu of 350 Pesos.

A good quiet, safe, peaceful night.

An absolute beautiful area. Even the Walmart down the road is spectacular though There are no overnight parking signs everywhere at the Walmart. No signs prohibiting you from staying at this Home Depot but we were very paranoid about getting kicked out just because it’s a great one! But we didn’t, completely undisturbed.
Cleanest bathrooms for the morning. When they open at 6 AM though, it’s very loud! 😂
