ranger_nik | Beautiful Sunset Spot. A cop was driving by at around 9 pm, honked once and left. We could sleep well, very little traffic, no further interruptions. Morning was very foggy. |

dmx11523 | Middle of nothing. Silent. Dead quiet. Great place to sleep. Can have a fire, very unlikely you’ll see anyone out here. Stars and view are amazing. Road was was really nice and easy. I wouldn’t come in Sedan or bring a big RV out here but it probably would make it to the first few pull offs.
Bring anything you need. Nothing here but wild horses. Toilet is a hole you dig. Water. You bring it.

our.overland.adventures | Take the road (there is a new tarmac road almost all the way to the canyon but it is not yet visible on Google maps sattelite view) at these coordinates (44.3036213, 53.5435606) and follow it over the train tracks. Entrance to the canyon at these coordinates (44.3281908, 53.5114891). As it was quite windy on the steppe we drove down the canyon for a couple hundred meters to find a less windy spot. Train is a bit noisy though but nothing that keeps you out of your sleep. |

reinzelf | By far the worst airport in the world New design, new chairs and al arranged in such a way that you cannot lay down anywhere. Sit up straight or lay on the floor, stopover 6 hours. The ‘Oasis Lounge’ special for Air Maroc stopovers, looks nice on the advertisements … reality is that it s just the public foodcourt with an extra signing.

our.overland.adventures | Great water source where locals also full up. No tap, just a pipe out of the ground. So you need bottles/buckets/pump. |
Clean water | 44.15492, 51.95053 | |
VetsOverland | Chill camping area with superclean toilets and good showers (not bucket, actual shower). Dusky langur monkeys around all the time, one of them is constantly watching himself in the mirror. We paid 30 baht pp, stayed the night and after doing several hikes the next day came back to take a shower. |

milliemw23 | small spot hidden from the road. enough space for at least two cars off the soft sand, more space on the sand. three military lads came round and told us it was dangerous (bandits, of course), but port-gentil is tiny so I'm dubious. I'd done two interviews that day and wasn't up for the argument so gave them a beer each and they seemed happy with that. Told us they'd be hidden close by for our security. They definitely weren't, but it was an absolutely quiet night, no one passed by all evening or morning. they were the only people we saw. from the litter around and tyre tracks I'd say people come here on the weekend so probably not a good option on weekend nights, but good for avoiding high port-gentil accommodation costs! |

tyler.oneal | Basic truck stop. Similar to ones across the country. Had plenty of spots available around 9:30 pm. Slept great, noise but that’s to be expected at a truck stop. Could stay a couple nights if needed or one if just passing through. |
