We arrived after a long drive, after ringing the bell the manager, Hendrik, showed up. Place was available, price was 400 NAD p.p.p.n. but no cards where accepted due to connectivity issues as this is a remote area. Our MTC SIM worked just fine and had LTE coverage, iOverlander mentioned there was WiFi at the reception so it felt quite weird. As we only had 700 cash we hoped that it would be fine to stay for one night but the manager was very clear that it would have only be possible for 800. As there is no ATM in the next 60km or more we were forced to leave (which was around 16:00) and to find a new campsite. Place might be great but would definitely not recommend it it based on his experience.

Great spot! 3 or 4 other RVs here too. We stayed around the back. There are picnic tables there and trash cans. A little noisy this morning as the grounds crew were out. But they just worked around us.

Everything as described in the other comments.
I took a mototaxi from a roundabout at the main road (N3 to Conacry). Took 35min and was 30.000 GNF.
I had 4/4 bars of LTE connection with Orange everywhere in the campground and the nearby village.

** Joelle told me, she will go back to France on 27.04.24 and stay there for around five months **

This is a very quiet place to spend the night, it is on the side of the road and we used the campsite, we paid 1500 pesos per person and to take a shower it is another 1500pp.
It has several electricity and water points.

The bathroom at the men's campsite was a little precarious and the one behind the restaurant was a little dirty with leaves because of the wind, but it's ok.

The place is safe, so we spent the night calmly, if you are going to the next city, leave before noon, as the road ahead is all rocks.

check point was a few hundred metres north along the road of where it is marked on ioverlander. we anticipated a stop and slowed right down. had windows down and smiled and waved. we asked if this is the right way to macenta and he said yes a few kilometres along the road. I said merci beaucoup and waved goodbye. not asked for anything.

UNREAL PLACE
The road is super smooth and flat from Ayaviri
Vicente the owner is super nice, we paid 20 soles for two of us and he let us park/camp next to the museum. No the museum is nothing special but the circuits he and/or the local people have constructed make the 20 soles you pay seem cheap. The entire canyon is from another planet. If you have a sunny day swim in the river it is incredible.

Kankacho is the local preparation of roasted lamb. It is soooo delicious. This is a tiny little place next to the gas station but the food is fantastic and cheap.

Arrived here after Livingstone's camp would accept cards or a lower offer as we didn't have enough cash on us. Management and staff are both very friendly, helpful and committed. Campsites are large and private with private ablutions. Pool is, as mentioned before, a real pool and has perfect views over the area. Restaurant has breakfast, lunch and dinner. The latter is a fixed menu which changes daily. Food was delicious and portions very generous. Price is 355 NAD p.p.p.n. which might be considered steep but is in general cheaper than Botswana and we feel the place makes it worth it.

John is a long term expat from Lebanon. He will help you with anything you need. Very kind and generous family that is worth to stop by if you need accommodation recommendations or restaurant recommendations in town. I ended up staying with them and had the best meal there I have had in weeks. Staying is not guaranteed though and more likely if a solo female but will likely offer you to pitch a tent if you are camping and male.

Cool local coffee shop, great local coffee and fast free internet. Also serves some baked goods.

Plenty of tables and couch seating to work, plugs to charge around most tables.

Lots of street parking out front and a public lot about a block away for larger rigs.

Arrived here by bike. Rooms are now at Pesos700 plus 100 key deposit. Bring earplugs; it’s also a 24/7 truck stop with trucks that let their refrigerator units run for most of the time.
There are some small tiendas ‘in town’.

A nice place to camp lakeside, surrounded by mountains. It is nestled at the end of a quite street in a small town. Temperatures cool down in the evening and it is breezy. Free to camp if you eat at the restaurant. The food was good, limited menu options.

Long drive in but totally worth it! Free campgrounds in the off season! (No water available in off season) Has tent camping area, RV area and 1 pit toilet aswell as boat launch. Great trails from this area and can canoe the whole lake.

As reported. 3 nice spots with good views and quiet. I had no Verizon signal at all so had to rely on Starlink.

The last spot is quite steep and probably hard to navigate for larger rigs. I could just manage with my truck and 13ft camper. Would not try bigger.

We stayed here for a very quiet night. Beautiful view of the volcano and the mini lakes! When the road was renovated, they tarred a little further away (a dead end), where parking is very easy and level. There is very little traffic during the day and actually none at night. It can get very cold at night, as it is over 3,800m! And windy, as it is a bit exposed. We had a thunderstorm with hundreds of lightning bolts that night, a wonderful spectacle!

Right at the Plaza you can find a little restaurant serving a menu at lunchtime. I payed 6 Soles for a huge Soup and Rice/Potato dish. Afterwards you will def. need a siesta. Good vibes as well, everybody was making jokes and trolling the waiter.

Went to see the visitor's centre first to get the map for $5 showing all the 85 camp sites. Barbara told us lots of stories and the history about these grasslands and showed us a very informative 20 min video. Fantastic refuge, all open wide spaces. Saw a pronghorn antelope and some white tailed deers. Otherwise just peace and quiet with great views all round. Very sketchy internet reception at Camp site 34.

Road heading to the place is blocked by several big trunks, probably by the camp owners nearby.

Set between road and railroad (both little used, about 2 trains a day and no increased traffic expected due to derelict rails).

Camp owner Mike (owns a Lodge in Vic Falls, too) is very nice. Campsite still under development (expected to be finished in June 2024) offers 3 options:

1. 4 Tents for groups with private pool/ablutions
2. Campsite with private ablutions (25$ pppn)
3. Campsite with shared ablutions (15$ pppn)

Two small waterholes (rather concrete potions). We only saw antilopes due to little rainfall but elephants frequently visit the place.

Fast WiFi (StarLink) and electricity on the whole premises.
