Life with Spock | This camping area is a large dirt lot adjacent to the Big Bear Transfer Station, I camped 2 nights in a 20 foot campervan, others came and went while I was there. Not a pretty site but it is next to a PCT (Pacific Coast Trail) trailhead. Also, it’s paved all the way, located off Holcomb Valley Road, just Google Big Bear Transfer Station. NO services, pack it in, pack it out. |

toddelliott1 | Nice spot next to a creek in a forest clearing. Lots of wood and clean water! Room for a few cars and suitable for 2wd and big rigs. It has been previously fly tipped but isn’t too noticeable. Let’s keep it clean!

ingridregada | Nice place. What is a bit regrettable is that it’s very dirty, and we were there in fall (out of season) so no reason to say they couldn’t clean a little bit.

carolyn.schew | Not closed! Needed a spot to stay for the night. Talked to a ranger at the Lake Meade visitor center and she said both this campground and Las Vegas Bay campground rarely fill up especially on weekdays. $20 for a site. First come first serve. Near the shore of Lake Meade which was nice, both for the views and hanging out. Water spigots, flush toilets, fire ring, picnic table, some sites have pavilion shelters. Some wheelchair accessible/ADA sites too. |

jess.marie.moore94 | we arrived here around 7 and settled in and within 5 mins the cops came, they checked our ID and said it was ok to stay one night. we made a fire to cook dinner and just as it got dark two more cop cars arrived and made us leave. nice spot and but very popular with the police |

bekahdwhite | after spending all day driving every road in the area, this is the best your gonna get. The snow is unpassable on all roads going up as of today may 11th. don't waste your time getting to the higher sites with views. |

jabbondola | Really nice view! Was quiet at night, we were the only van parked. Lots of hiking trails and we enjoyed yoga while looking at the lake! Very buggy at night so I’d recommend bringing bug spray and keeping the car doors closed. Had some Verizon and t mobile service but it cut out a few hours into working. |

nicholaskmaddock | This place is a hidden gem. Even my Seattle friends can’t believe I found unregulated parking in the heart of the city. 20ish spots. I kept my van here for 4 days and nights. No tickets, no towing, all was fine. |

chevygirl81596 | This is a neat area. It is pretty quiet at night. We were the only overnighter. You need a permit to explore the wildlife area but we came, slept, and left. We were not bothered by anyone. Lots of birds nearby. Quite a bit of room for smaller rigs, and maybe 1 big rig. |

jmoon819 | There are some signs saying the area is closed but there were a few other people in the area. Seems like they are chopping a lot of wood out there, but followed the directions of going right before making the left turn to the parking lot. Only one other camper van close to the entrance of going a off pavement. There aren’t too many level areas so I used leveling blocks for the car, but very quiet. Found a nice spot down the “road” and to the right into a clearing. I’m not sure of campfire rules, so I didn’t try as i didn’t want to test my luck. From other posts, it seems you need a permit. I’ll be back for sure! Spent 1 night, no issues. |

taylorduncan2015 | Beautiful site. There were not a lot of people. A decent amount of spots but you have to drive for awhile. If you’re looking to go to Zion you’re at least an hour away bc you have to go back through Hurricane to get there. |

UPDATE: There is a Mida Eco Camp and a Mida Nature Camp in close proximity. We initially were going to Mida Eco camp when we saw a sign with ”Mida Camp" on it and an arrow pointing right and accidentally turned up here. Above review is for Mida Nature Camp, not Eco Camp. sorry for confusion. |

Khayaonwheels | Grassy spots to choose from in between bushes, no views from the campsite but at the restaurant on the deck you can look all around. Plenty of zebra and impala to be seen from the road coming here. Camping still 10USD, 3 course dinner 10USD or just a main for 7USD, excellent fish curry! The showers have a solar geiser so with days of rain non stop it is unfortunately cold but a good place to rest a bit. |
