We camped here for one night. You drive down the road by Rise Up and turn right as you enter the sand (left if you want to camp in front of boom break). There is a house on the beach and we parked just before that probably 100 m from the road. Very quiet, only a few surf trucks and motos. Dogs as well but they didn’t bug us except for peeing on our tires. No one bothered us at all! Beach is fairly clean which was a great change from some others we have been to.

You should be able to access the site with 2WD as long as you don’t drive too far into the sand.

Only 1 bar of 3G service on my T Mobile, but our Google fi phone had full LTE.

Almaru (right up the road, formerly Rise Up) has great food, drinks and views!

Beautiful lagoon. don't miss this place. we paid R$40/each to overnight and enjoy the day. amazing. Be ready for sandy roads, better with a AWD / 4x4.

Gated dirt lot on outskirts of boat launch to park while on way to Lamu or Manda. We parked here for 300ksh for one night. The family that lives in the small house watches the vehicles. There were two other cars parked here during our stay.

Great spot for a good night’s sleep. Gorgeous cliff overlooking two cascade areas. This side of the Snake river is undeveloped, with several areas to pull off the main road. This is one of my favorites. There are dispersed camping signs as you come in from HWY 93. You don’t need 4x4 for this site, just drive slowly, as some parts of the road are slanted. Enough space for RV, although I’d recommend scoping out other pull outs. No shade or large trees. Clean area/little trash. Very quiet at night, no street lights. Town nearby for your necessities.

Bottle fill station, don't use spigot, don't connect hose.

We got here late and had to drive in around a mile (past the house ) to get a spot. But the road just keeps going with spots every 100 ft , super spread out great service all the way through w att

Very nice; wind rustling thru the trees. Little road noise. Generally level, good cell signal.

Gate locked up. 3 bars t-mobile WiFi, there is a spot right at the fork that leads to a camp spot. Steep and bumpy. Drove a sprinter to the top campsite. There is a lower site that is next to water.

Arrived late and was a great place to spend the evening. As written little traffic and a good stop if you are just looking for a little break from driving.

This is a simple dispersed camping area. It is a flat, shady area. Plenty of room for several vehicles, and big rigs. There were several rock fire rings. Very few rocks, mostly flat dirt areas shaded by tall pines. No AT&T service, even with a booster.

Just want to update this location to say that the town is easily driveable, only if you don't follow Google Maps directions. I wanted to stay out of town to the other side but first parked in the main parking lot at the entrance, walked around town and figured out the route the locals take into town. I drive a 2WD 85 VW bus with stock engine, had no issue.

I checked out the other spot that says "views on the valley" but there were no views other than on the nearby church/cemetery and close to town. I tried to drive the trail that you can see from there, took left at the fork and not long after there was this flat area with actual views. A truck drove by and I asked and the driver said it was ok to park here. I picked up a bit of trash, which shows that I'm not the first one to camp here. Somehow I got service there. No facilities whatsoever and pretty windy, but the view is spectacular.

Not sure what this parking lot is or who it belongs to but has RV marked lanes plus a water spigot. Right next to Comfort In Suites but doesn’t seem to belong to them.

Clean, hot showers for $15. No complaints. They had a coin laundry and barbershop in there, too.

Big laundromat that uses a card system - no coins needed. Card is $0.50 and then you load it with however much you’re going to use. Lots of different size washers and regular and large dryers. Not too crowded on a weekday and pretty clean. The neighborhood is a little...unsavory but the laundromat itself felt safe enough.
