amazing little spot! i suggest staying here off-deason. waterton lakes is beautiful and they have a cute little village with cottages and bike/kayak rentals. there's also a walking/running path along the lake with spectacular views of the mountains. in mid-may, the campground was at no more than 25% capacity and the streets were empty (as none of the lodges were open and many shops were closed). it made for an amazing jog.

this campground is in the middle of the village and although not private (very much like a parking lot), it is absolutely gorgeous. mountain views from every campsite, and campground "G" sites are on a lake, too! I originally reserved a site in "B" next to the showers and bathrooms, and it has a full electric, water and septic hook up. the showers and toilets were closed for the season, so they offered me a site in the G campground (power only), and also gave me a refund on the price difference. G is probably the best section, of you don't need water or septic. water taps are available for fill ups of you have a jug.

great place to park up for a few days, especially off-season because it was fairly empty. not sure i would recommend it june-september.

It's beautiful here. Surrounded by wildflowers and Ponderosa pines and snow capped mountains in the distance. The only sounds we hear of the nearby river and songbirds. Lots of room for any size rig. We're getting solar! Cell signal is excellent.

Nice spot by the river. Pit toilets. Got a cop knock early evening. Said he was checking to be sure everything was ok and would let the night shift know not to bother me.

nice spot with clear sea, very soft sand beach and a small blue church nearby. some locals pass by from time to time. the only drawback is that after the sun goes down here is everything full with very tiny flys that also bite. very annoying

Certified freedom camping spot for self contained vehicles. About 20 spots in a parking lot for large and small rigs. Not for tents. Toilets, cold showers, BBQ, picnic tables and outdoor sinks for dishwashing. Popular spot so it does fill up fast but has a friendly vibe with lots of vanlifers. Close to salt water pools. Very quiet.

Nice and quiet wild camp on a small hill (former carry) with nice views on the dam and river. you need a 4x4 to reach this place, the last 50m being steep and rocky. the place is flat with a weak edge MTV signal.
with our 2x4 campervan we stayed just downhill and spent a very quiet night, nobody around.

Wild camping in the yard of a local resident. We got permission from the owner to make camp behind his house. Beautiful Mafinga Mountain views. We paid a small fee to the owner as a thank you.

Stayed one night. A few people pulling on and out until midnight. After that, it was quiet. We were the only car parked for the night. The view of the sunrise over the Colorado River was breathtaking. I would come again.

Pleasant RV park (and cabins) on the river across from the boondocking area. Hook up sites at $35 a night. We were charged $15 because we were just passing through for the night and didn’t need hook ups.
Nice bathrooms.

Beautiful large garden with lawns, almost a botanical garden feel to it. The campsite was waterlogged after the rain so right at the water edge there is a bit higher ground to park. Quiet and very peaceful, fishing boots passing, a perfect spot to relax and stay a couple of days. It will be busy on weekends with day visitors and music. Safe to swim! 30.000UGX pppn camping and a big menu with fish, pork, chicken etc for reasonable prices. Only downside is the distance to the toilets which is 200 meters but otherwise recommended. Clean toilets, cold showers

Great place to stare at the ocean with an incredible view in a very large turn out on the 1 highway. There is a little bit of T-Mobile cell phone service about two bars in the right position and I was able to do some work here as well. Admittedly the turn out is on a little bit of a slant but for my van it actually is nice when I can have a slight incline when I’m sleeping. Nothing too bad but for some people it might be too much. You could also park sideways and avoid that but for the area with no cell phone service and often blocked views this was a gem.

Price in now $50 pp and an additional $70 if you’d like to camp. They have cabañas for $350.
In my opinion not the best cenote, too many birds nesting making the place smell, and of course most of the droppings land in the water. Lots of algae and sediment in the water. Very slippery concrete landing.
But nice stalactites, decent stair access, a nice area with hammocks and little tables to picnic and relax. Refreshing swim in the 38 degree heat!!!
