A perfect stop on the route up to Tete. Ulli is a warm and welcoming host - we used his equipped outdoor, covered kitchen and he arranged a couple of local beers for us to enjoy after driving the long and very bad N1 road! The garden is beautifully curated and there’s plenty of room for a 4x4 with roof tent. We slightly got lost finding the exact location so keep in contact with Ulli when arriving, he kindly came and found us! We paid 600mts per person for camping.

Currently charging 23 pesos for 20L, there are definitely cheaper places around.

quiet, peaceful, the permanent resident couple is still there, they keep to themselves. light traffic during the day, completely quiet at night. stayed 2 nights from Friday to Sunday.

people sight seeing do show up on weekends, maybe 5 cars total and then take off. Tmobile decent data the closer to the north west corner of the pullout you get.

we took the tundra up there along with a diesel heater it was nice and comfy.

Beautiful quiet spot by the river. Used by locals and clean. Road to get here is not great at first and I would only drive the last couple of meters with high ground clearance vehicle as the path consists of large rocks. With a bicycle you can cycle carefully or push. Lots of trees and a ring for a bonfire. Met nobody here.

Stayed here for 2 nights, couple of spots, easy for 2WD and no high clearance needed. Electric wire towers nearby, but didn’t bother. Very close to Horseshoebend, antilope canyon, walmart,… perfect and beautiful spot to stay overnight in Page, only very exposed.

Very nice established campsite. All facilities from pools to roofed campsites. Roofing is high enough to erect rooftop tent under!

was 1 van at front of lot, rv at back. we chose to be near front for safety in numbers of vans :) was a relatively quiet location, would stay again.

Walk for 15 minutes in 30cm of water to go beyond the coral reef and tease the local fish...

Be careful, it's better to crawl in the water, the coastguards are doing rounds and don't like to see you dragging yourself towards the corals

Few other vehicles parked on Friday night, so far no issues. Quite, low traffic. Most other places on Oregon Coast have "no camping, no overnight parking" signs.

Local street food!! They sell tortillas and bolones, typical from Ecuador, and they are very tasty, many flavors to choose  (yuca, choclo, platano maduro o verde, etc.),  some of them are filled with cheese. Very cheap 60cent each!! The only place we found in Cuenca selling tortillas. You can eat here or buy to go. It's called "cafeteria paolita" and it we saw a lot of local people buying here.

At the moment, the crossing with one's own vehicle from Turkey to Kurdistan is possible. However, the crossing from Kurdistan to Federal Iraq is not possible.

We explain in detail:
We are Belgian and travel with a Mercedes Sprinter. We wanted to reach the African continent by crossing Turkey, Iraq and Jordan to arrive in Egypt.
In Turkey, we went twice to the Iraqi embassy in Ankara (to make sure we understood correctly). Both times, the ambassador himself explained to us that in our case, it was not necessary to have a visa to cross the whole Iraq. Apparently, all we had to do is to ask for a visa for the whole Iraq at the border (near Zakho) and everything would be easy. This was obviously NOT the case at all.

At the border, we tried to negotiate for 4 hours with an officer (very nice and understanding by the way) in order to explain that we didn't want a visa only for Kurdistan but for the whole Iraq, as the ambassador had previously explained to us. Well, that was simply not possible. It wasn't a question of unwillingness, they just didn't have the means to do it. Only the visa for Kurdistan can be issued there. And for good reason, if you enter here, you MUST leave here. This leaves no alternative for travellers like us.
It is also important to understand that even if you have a visa for the whole Iraq, which you bought in your own country, entering through here necessarily means leaving through here.

IT IS THEREFORE COMPLETELY IMPOSSIBLE TO CROSS THE COUNTRY IN THIS DIRECTION WITH YOUR OWN VEHICULE.
I write "in this direction" because other travellers have done the opposite crossing (from Jordan to Turkey) without encountering such problems.
Therefore, the only solutions to reach Africa are :
-To go through Iran and then reach federal Iraq (visa complicated to obtain at the moment);
-To take the boat to Israel (very expensive but it was our choice). Do not choose to go to Lebanon, you would be stuck in the country, none of its borders being open.

If you choose to visit Kurdistan only, it is very simple. Once out of Turkey, you will fill in an online form to get your visa (e-visa) and pay the sum of $70 per person.

This campground is one of the best in northern Baja. The Casaurina (ironwood) trees make the necessary shade, and the host, Javier, was a friendly guy. He charged $20/night, less than other established campgrounds nearby. It was completely silent at night, and the beach was clean. The showers were tank temperature, so we used our own. Bathrooms were clean and acceptable.

Easy access from 60 either direction - Westbound travelers use a dedicated turning lane to turn left into the rest area. Two vans parked under the street lamp by the restrooms when we pulled in at 2000.

The Lodge has a workshop where they maintain their game drive vehicles, including their Unimog. We had a breakdown at our campsite and could not move - Maurice was there within 15 minutes. Maurice and his team have huge experience and are very kind and helpful. Workshop is right behind the petrol station.
Pricing: the lodge charges N$ 700 for each call, we gave N$ 900 to reward the staff.

Would not recommend. We stayed in a Garage, which would have been ok if it was half the price. The Receptionist was listening to pretty loud music at night and we did not get the breakfast that was included in the price.

Fantastic vibey hostel. Staid in a very colourful, clean dorm which had 2 showers and 2 toilets on it for 100 cedi. It's right by the beach and very close to the castle (really recommend a tour here - ask for Steven as a guide, he's so compassionate)

Breakfast was included and fantastic quality. Friendly staff. I'll stay here again.

We stayed one night with our european RV. We had to negociated to pay only 10 USD + ordering something... They wanted 10 USD per day starting at 7:00PM...
Very noisy all the day long with very loud music starting at 7:00PM till 7:00AM even if they are no customer ...
Not really recommend but not a lot of choice in the area with big rigs.

Not recomended, very noisy from street, not cleaned toilets, like for animals and shower without hot water. Price per night for car 60mdh
