We were slipping and sliding in our 2WD van once we left the main road (it was raining and quite muddy) but found a little spot that was good enough for the night and didn't end up getting stuck. Didn't see any cows but there were some pies.

BUGS! This would have been one of the most beautiful spots on our trip, right on the water, but the insane amount of bugs makes it nearly uncampable. Would not stay here again.

Harbormaster building has restrooms with showers in the back. Ask the harbormaster for the door code to get into the bathrooms. I didn’t use the showers but they are clean and I assume it wouldn’t be a big deal to use them. As always, be polite, be respectful.

Plenty of company overnight, semi-permanent RV's, vans, tents as well as other folks staying the night. Open car park between the community centre and the gym, trees and streetlights. Portaloo to the left of the centre. I arrived after dark, a quiet comfy night, busy in morning. No trouble as I expect people coming and going know folks live here. Will come again.

Slept here for one Sunday night, I rolled in with my converted passenger van after dusk figuring I might just look like I belong here. There were folks using the lot to cross through to the next street, but other than that it was very peaceful and no one objected to me being here. Checked for signs of no overnight parking in the morning around 8:30 but saw none. There were a handful of cars parked here in the morning too.

Great views in all directions. Some protection from wind. Somewhat level. Very quiet. One bar on Verizon.

We were able to fill our external propane tank ( RV tank) with propane here. Their pump wasn’t visible from the parking lot but when we went inside to enquire they sent a fellow out right away to help us.
The pump was actually hidden at the base of the large vertical tank at the corner of the parking lot. This makes us realize we may have been passing by other service stations thinking they couldn’t serve us because we couldn’t see the pump!

We had a great stay here. It’s important to note that this is the OLD visitor info and is no longer in operation. The parking lot is large and so can accommodate many vehicles of all sizes and there’s a view of the water from there as well.
There were at least two of us spending the night and no one seemed to mind. Several locals stopped by the next morning and were quite friendly.
There are no facilities here at all so be sure to take your garbage with you!

Leave no trace

Small campsite in a beautiful location with a wide view of the mountains. If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is the right place. 2 people in the motorhome with electricity 14 euros. The next restaurant is 1.5 km away. Breakfast service is available.

Because of the near by camping ground is closed for no reason, we tried to reach the park office and found this HUGE place. So many sites and no many campers.

For Two Adults and Two Kids 1 year old. Cost us 450 pesos each night. Place in the parking close to the beach. Beach area and general area really exclusive. We loved the place. We plan to stay two nights and take the Ferry to La Paz. We have our van @patoandlola and we used water and power connection it is really good to hace both.

Decent laundromat - does not get a good review on Yelp, not sure why is it worked well for me and was reasonably priced

Nicely located, peaceful and quiet place. Just ideal for a night stay. The police passed by couple of time at night but was no problem at all. Highly recommend!

Dry camping $14.21/night. They have much more - hookups and the like. We were headed for Malheur NWR early the next morning and just needed a place to sleep in our van. We arrived on Monday when their office is closed, and settled in to wait. They knocked in the middle of the night and they were super understanding and nice. Given the almost total lack of boondocking sites in the area, they offer an excellent alternative. Recommend.

Easy access, pretty area lots of parking. I used this as a quick overnight.

Beautiful forest spots. No camp attendant or enveloppe, so it was free (but be ready to pay $18)

What a beautiful place, we wanted to explore the free spot around and we decided to come here!

One of the prettiest campground that we visit, 35$/night , no service first come first serve , good space between sites, dump station(5$) free shower and clean bathroom

So Haines is actually the garage behind the gas station with propane but the signage looks like it’s all kinda connected
If you call the garage they’ll tell you they don’t have any propane available but it is in fact at the gas station

going in the park : if you are not sure you want to sleep in Savute or if there is availability there (which change the number of days in the permit) you don't need to pay here at the gate but it is possible to get and pay the permit in Savuti camp.
