this is a great park with a playground for children and then an outdoor cooking station including meat smoking and outdoor sinks if you need to cook or something along those lines!

I stopped at the "castle" and was told the spot for the night was 80 pasos, if I was to stay all day and night then it is 120 pasos. They spoke English and were very friendly. She stated the showers at the top of the hill (where the RV park is) there us warm water but not at the showers below. I did not ask about wifi, since there is service here, however, I do not see a wifi with the camps name or an open wifi.

I think the post warning about thieves is by Coyote Cal trying to get people to stay at his paid rather than camp free. Totally safe, keep things locked at night

we spent 5 nights there with a 24 feet. the campsite is relatively small and cannot accommodate many vehicles. Luckily we were the only ones and really enjoyed the place and the staff. Peru is the first country when you come from the North with 220v electricity. we paid 45 Soles per day for an Rv and 2 people.

Fantastic spot. Lots of cool rocks. Not a lot of traffic on a Tuesday night. Great T-Mobile phone service. Let the pets run around. Traffic sound is there but distant.

We found the entrance to the campground easily with a big white sign at the end of the pavement. The entrance is narrow through trees and across a bridge just wide enough for our Promaster van.
The manager is on site with her family. She can cook for you if you ask.
WiFi varies from fast to slow at random.
Toilets are simple bucket flush. No showers.
No electrical hookups. Shallow swimming pool for kids, or swimming in the river for strong swimmers.
We stayed three days and wanted more.
Extremely peaceful. The village locks the main and only entrance to the whole place from sun down to sun up.

I didn't find the spot in the first place and ended up in another spot super beautiful until I realised after a week that it is the same spot!😅 It you come from San Jose it's not the path by the cross (which is blocked by a gate) the entry to this spot is just 200m after the cross next to an abandoned house. It's really an amazing spot! I stayed here for 10 days. After 3 days the owner of the property came by and asked for money. He is a really nice guy and we ended up with 100 pesos a night. I was happy to help/give him the money! There is a lot of firewood around and a good view to both sides of the valley. Have a good time here! If you wanna find the owner you can find him at cabañas juarez in San Mateo.

Great place. They ordered and changed our starter within 24 hours.
We arrived late in the evening, they let us sleep in their parking lot (even offered us electricity which we didn’t need) and the next day they ordered the part and changed it as soon as they received it. All were very nice and several of them also speak French since the owner is from Quebec. They showed us their beautifully painted trailers. We were very happy with the service.
They have all kinds of vehicles there : trucks, modern cars, vintage cars, RV’s, etc.

There are some options: on the south side of the road there is a trailhead with picnic table. large gravel parking lot. hiway noise during the day. quiet at night. at the east side of the lot (closer to river) 1 bar verizon. the other option is further away from the road on the river bank on the *north* side of the river ( entrence near the bridge)

The road had been graded and this was the only place we could cross over the gravel berm. It is a nice place with dozens of BLM disbursed camping spots, all level, and a few with fire rings. There are some shrubs. Far enough away from I8 and train tracks to not hear them at night. We had the place to ourselves. 1 or 2 bars of Verizon.

We stayed in the square, because the other two points that you have here in the app are very difficult to reach with my van, so I preferred to stay in the square next to the church, I could stay on the other side of the square too, but the water hose might not of this, we stayed two very quiet nights, the city is very good, for the same off season and on weekends, we get energy that already has a female nozzle under the pole, water has two points, one that has to turn on the pump and another of a hand washbasin that is disabled, the beach is very close, with several restaurant and snack bars, supermarket very close and there is a store that sells everything, everything 😲

They have tons of long spots to the right of the building. Mostly semi trucks parked there. We did call to confirm that you can stay up to 24 hours but nobody enforces it.

We found a gravel berm that prevented us from crossing into the site. Instead, we camped about ½ mile south on the west side in a site with dozens of dispersed campsites.

empty ground between A&W and Wash the Works. A lot of trucks stop here for the night. Very safe. You can still use the Laundry Wi-Fi witch reaches the car. We spent 4 nights, worked in the public library, used the showers at wash the works (10 cad each) and slept here! :) very nice city

Don't stop here.
It's still a petrol station and a small shop.
The restaurant is only with self service.
The pastry is good and a small menu for lunch is available.
But the place is not worth for a stopover

Dozens of free level BLM disbursed sites, well spaced. No problems with access. I-10 is within sight but did not hamper our sleep. Good Verizon signal, we streamed a movie. There are a couple of mine tunnels and we walked into one.

There are dozens of free, level, BLM sites here, well dispersed. Some have campfire rings. A gravel berm had been crossed enough times for us to cross with our 18' easily. 1 or 2 Verizon bars. We can't hear the freeway from here. Avenue 52½ E is washboard for ½ mile, not terrible. Camping is free.

Instead of White House down the road, I stayed this time at Goibib.
Nice campsite (7 sites) with Braai place, power point, tap & dustbin. There is a type of a open air kitchen to do dishes. 3 campsites have extra sun shelter. All levelled out.

The bathrooms are awesome! Spotless clean, spacious and it smells like entering a spa. Two shower wit toilet and sink and one bathtub wir toilet and sink for females. Haven’t checked the males.

There is road noise as it’s close to the main road.

No signal with MTC, but wifi - at the mainhouse.

Lovely owner couple and a nice young manager lady.

Camping is 160 pppn.

To all the cyclists and bikers. The bathrooms are huge and warm, you can sleep in there if you don’t want to pitch your tent and you are looking for a warm night.
