Parked in big rig for four nights. Safe, quiet at night, right by military base entrance. Minuteman pizza (and other options) café in Tonito hotel is best food in town.
Check out Nomada Experience for best adventure options on the salt pan.
Think carefully before taking your own vehicle, one fell through on 31st May!

Bolivia to Argentina in may 22. Must have a printed declaracion jurada, there are shops that can print nearby. They asked for the car insurance. On a monday noon i had 4 cars on front and it took 2h. They looked relaxed on food and didn t complain for fruits and veggies. BIG diesel shortage at this time in Bolivia and on a minor scale in north Argentina.

This is a Pull off road just off the main forest rd as you head south past Beaver Creek Reservoir. You will pass three established campgrounds before heading up the mountain pass to this pull-off road. This pull off has three large established fire rings, spread out enough for three separate groups, each with the ability to host large rigs. The pull off road does keep going but a large fallen pine blocked the trail. Tucked in a Aspen forest this site is great for the night and beats established camping nearby. Close enough to the reserve for boating or fishing, and you could easily pull a boat into these sites if that’s your thing. No reception for either AT&T or Verizon

the signs say no overnight parking. the clerk said I could stay, the signs are up to keep the homeless from sleeping in their cars. I did pay the $14 to use a nice private shower since I did not fill the water tank before
leaving home.

Good option just out of park city. There’s a damn or some kind of hydro plant that’s a little noisy at night.

Nice quiet location - easy to find following the GPS coordinates. but when arriving, you need to turn off into the forest on what looks like a disused track - we rode our bike about 50m up put of sight and pitched a tent in the middle of track (it was grassy and clearly not used).

The pullout should be year-round accessible, access to the service road from it is not. This area is prone to sudden weather changes and heavy snowfall well into the spring. I was planning to hike the trail nearby but didn't have the gear to handle that much snow. See picture for where the road and hiking access should be (taken May 24). No cell reception.

Steep uphill but worth it. Lot of trash and dumpplace right next to it but on the top of the hill good for one night. Big antenna there but nice few.

Richard was a super help for us. We bought a van who’s needed a complete check. We stayed 2,5 day with Richard and he let us sleep in front of his house ( guarded area). We helped with all the things, and things that weren’t his expertises he know a guy for. If you need a mechanic. Richard is for 100% sure your guy. Half British so speaks english fluent. This location is maps.me is not his current location. Its his old garage. But just send him a whatsapp and meet him at his house. Number is +57 324 4130057

The campground in the National Park is open again since one week, after closing for a while, during the Covid pandemic. We stayed here 2 nights. Toilets and showers are not well maintained at the moment, maybe because of the long period of closure. Otherwise nice place to stay. Not easy to find a level spot, if you want to park in the sun, but we managed. Shady places no problem. Above the entrance fee, for camping we had to pay 20.000 PYG per night.

Camping is allowed again in the park, for 20.000 PYG per night on top of the entrance fee, as described below. Closure was only because of Covid pandemic.

Good place to stay, it’s a quiet place on the week, lots of animals. Wasn’t so clean on Monday because it’s a day off for them…
Friendly owners, offered us coffee in the morning.
Enjoy!

Large gravel parking, close to the Rhine River and a small Restaurant / Beergarden, offering nice and basic dinners and toilets. The parking place is an official motorhome overnight Spot and free of charge from 20:00 until 8:00. The beergarden owners approved of spending the night at the parking.

Nice and quiet, away from any street noice. Seems that during the day, this is a starting point for walks along the Rhine river.

We arrived here after crossing from Costa Rica. Super quiet and no other guests around since it is low season. Payed 10$ per night for two persons. Owner is an older lady who only speaks Spanish but is super friendly (gave us some coffee and cookies after a long day of driving). Entrance is a steep road up and somewhat slippery when wet, so would recommend 4x4 as well. If it's dry season you should be fine. Tons of birds and nature around.

Talked to a lady that works here and asked if it was OK to stay the night. Was informed people do it all the time.
No issues for us. Overnight was quiet with traffic noise picking up about 6:00AM.

From our experience, we were greeting by a man which told us everything about this place. It has a very nice clean pool, bathrooms and showers along with a full kitchen and plenty of grass all over! We arrived in the afternoon when it was super hot outside and came here because we needed to plug in to run the ac after the long drive from Puebla.

The man insisted that we parked on the far end of the park where we would be closer to the back showers, and mentioned it would allow us to spread out more. However it was on the sunny side, but fine, so we plugged it to crank up the AC only to find the voltage was at 138v!

We moved to the shaded side and he quickly came to see what's up. Then told us that the voltage is always like that. Either way we stayed on the shade now even more so because we couldn't plug in.

Turns out this man is not the owner but he acts like it. He instructs everyone new coming in to park on the sunny side away from where he's parked so that he's not bothered since he's sensitive to noise. He'll tell you you can't run the AC at night even though that's not the rules here.

He complains about everything and everyone complains about him.

Besides him, this is an amazing place. Very well kept, with all the amenities, and close to Tule. The only downsides are this guy and the voltage being too high, but fast internet, great water pressure, plenty of space shade on one side starting at 2pm, overall quiet around the area and very safe with a giant door and a great worker keeping the place amazing!

Would highly recommend coming here!

I tried staying here last night but the park warden knocked and told me I’d have to leave because they were closing up for the night.
