Just checking in to change category from „Established Campground“ to „Informal Campsite“. This is a gas station and no campground.

Hot showers and flush toilets with paper are available at the comfort station, as well as electrical outlets for a hair dryer. Dumping is free if you stay the night, $5 otherwise. There is a water hose at the dump drain that usually works. You can pay for day use and swim in the pond or hiking, or purchase a provincial day pass for your vehicle that is good at all the provincial parks. Cell service is spotty in this area.

There are ramps on/off the trans Canada highway with an underpass for easy access in both directions.

Clean showers, good clean laundromat with friendly helpful staff. Showers are $7.50 ea.

I spent a few hours here uploading photos with my laptop. Lots of tables with outlets. They have computer terminals you can use but they may limit the time to 30 minutes.
Clean bathrooms and shaded parking.

Public WIFI provided by the concession stand. Lots of tables, some shaded in the late afternoon. This spot is above the beach and provides an amazing view. Restrooms are available during the day here and at the parking lot to the south.

The golf course security from next door will probably ask you to leave, but it's not their private property along the gravel road. It's a decent spot in a pinch if you find yourself having to stay in the area.

We stayed for a quiet night. See no reason why it is marked close. A small road from the gravel road leads you to a place with fire rings. We didnt used them as it was very dry.

Open for use. No need to sign in at admin office. No charge. No potable water.

Pretty much between Prins Albert and the foot of the Swartberg Pass. 6 Campsites and some chalets. Good ablution facilities, with lots of hot water and super clean.

Sites are basic, however they have a small covered lapa (that I can imagine is a godsend in summer) and have single light and electricity point.

Lots of baboons in the valley, however none come down to the campsite. Super quiet at night and great skies above. Really enjoyed the one night we stayed.

We stayed at Campsite #8 and the Camp Manager - Computer - introduced us to Solo our hippo and our very own Fish Eagle. The ablutions are basic but clean and there is plenty of hot water and enough pressure to wash your hair! The campsite has a bin.

We drove around the area and into the hippo pools along the road - we saw plenty of antelope and plenty of hyena and elephants and we followed a pride of seven lions hunting some poor wee warthogs! There were also 4 different types of vultures and a number of ‘fuglies’ (marabou stork) close to a mostly gone elephant carcass. There are Meyers Parrots screeching about and many water birds.

Khwai is a magical place - we spent 4 days next to the river and never tired of the view or the bee-eaters zooming about or the elephants crossing the river right opposite us. There seems to be more stars in Botswana and maybe the best best sunsets are sent to Khwai. We spent a very pleasant afternoon in a mokoro with Tendra - it’s just sooo very relaxing floating about between the water lilies listening to the frogs and the Fish Eagles. It’s absolutely the Okavango without the park fees ! Weeks later as we continue to travel in Botswana Khwai remains in our hearts.

It’s impossible to access the small lake in your vehicle….period. You HAVE to walk in from the parking lot and it is locked up tight after 6 pm. We arrived after 6 so just spent the night outside the gates right along the irrigation canal. You can see on the iOverlander map where the road ends, crosses the bridge then runs up the other side of the canal. We actually parked where the bridge crosses over and not where it’ pinned. It was a very hot evening so we swam in the clear water of the canal just like all the locals were doing. We had a super quiet night as it’s at the end of the road so zero traffic until 7:45 am when a huge tour bus showed up.
It IS possible to camp in the parking lot of Media Luna overnight for 150 pesos and have access to water, and a port a pottie but only if you get there before closing time then you are locked in for the night.
It is a beautiful place for a swim especially if you walk through the park right to the small deep lake. Most of the locals just swim in the shallower rivers closer to the restaurants. The showers and bathrooms are now free even though the signs are still up listing prices.
I hope this clears up the parking issue for others as we made several attempts to drive to this pin which is impossible.

Nice spot along the Chanel between Sturgeon Bay and Lake Michigan. We spent a quite night here. Easy access for all vehicles.

Provincial Park site CAD 20.00 (firewood provided, honour system), small campsite, sites in tall mixed forest, tables, firepits, very quiet. Black bear around campsite reportedly.

We decided to leave. The price raised up to 100qtz/pp, also for the kids over 7yo. The guide is mandatory, 200qtz. We can't understand why it is 100% more expensive, for which reason?

big fat no on this one unless you have time to scope it out. didn't find the clearing it was just a bunch of weeds and trees

Arrived very late around 23;00 and they accepted us, think we were the only ones there, it was not the cleanest, mosquitos annoying and it was very hot with the small fan! but peaceful outside area!

Yes we took this road on 24th May it was dry,bumpy,shaky and lots of animals to enjoy around!

Yes we passed here too and they demanded money in the dark evening , we made excuses that we did not have any left and we might be stuck at the border, so they let us pass

they tried asking money for multiple things but we only paid once 10 euros and said we dont have anymore..

Did not have any money with us and no ATM here so we did not pay anything , wasted about 1 hour and they let us pass with some document allowing us to be in Senegal for 1 week!

Border guys where cool , invited us in their small house and played FIFA on ps4 and they gave us some local CFA for fuel nearby!

RV, Tent, pet friendly, and right on Bear Lake! Came here May 24, 2022 week before Memorial Day weekend, campground was basically empty. Great tent spots, camper and RV.

We slept one night here in the trees. Not the best place but it was free.

water pressure is a bit low but it still does the job. great place to fill water and dump

We decided to overnight here on the way to Manu national Park since it is not too high in altitude. Could not find a decent place in the narrow streets of the village so we chose to camp here on a little platform along the riad Very quiet at night.

Possible to refill for gazoline or diesel

Great free dispersed campsite at the Pike National Forest. Pull offs are uneven in some spots. Quiet with many trails around. Road is fairly firm but washboard in some areas, 4 wheels drive not required. we stayed with our camper van in #13 and it was a quiet spot.

Gate was still closed, forest road is in pretty bad condition.

Very quiet parking right off a beautiful beach. Didn’t see anyone till 6 am when two fishermen launched their boat. Beautiful sunset and great dark spot to see the stars on a clear night. Saw 2 eagles. Was told that this is where Big Abe started the final fight for fishing treaty rights.

Easy to use. no one around. there is a hose for cleaning. Also a potable water faucet.
