Local police officer came by at dusk and said “sleeping in a vehicle in the township is illegal”. He was friendly and let us go to a parking lot down the road just for one night, but it does not seem like you can overnight at the park and ride listed here unless you want to chance it. |

I do not recommend this place to anyone!! From the road we saw a sign that said "Hidden Beach", we went to look, it was 6 pm and we got to the beach after passing an open gate, we parked, we didn't see anyone and we went to see the beach. Suddenly a man appeared out of nowhere, and asked us if the van was ours, and then told us that we had to pay him 50mxs just for entering his property. We told him that we only wanted to see the site and very aggressively he insisted that we had to pay. We told him that we were not going to stay and it did not seem fair to us to pay just to look. He threatened us that in the US it is allowed to shoot if an intruder enters your property and because we were Spanish he insinuated that we were complicit in killing the Mayans, and that he was Mayan and resisted.

FS Campground with lots of sites. Only a few rigs here on a Saturday in early June. There are OHV trails here so expect some use. Free but asking for a donation. Can still have a campfire here since it's a designated campsite with a fire ring even with the ban in the rest of the forest. Have usable Verizon LTE but it's only a bar or two. Cool camp host. Yours to enjoy protect and keep clean 🌲 |

Private property up the road. This is second to last spot available until you hit the private property road. The last spot is a little more up, to the left overseeing a cliff, but if you have a group or bigger suv/truck, there likely isn't enough room to camp at. This is a good sized spot next to main road. Other spots are definitely better than this before this but you have to arrive earlier. |

Currently closed. Unfortunate since there is great primitive camping/fishing at nearby lakes but nowhere to get water nearby (gas stations to the north best option now I think). |

Really nice farm with Alpakas, Cows and horses. We stayed 1 night with our motorhome. The path from the main road is a bit challenging, but easier than we thought. Zezé is very helpful and gave us great tips for traveling in Peru. Furthermore he helped us with the SOAT. With foreign plate you can not get it everywhere. He figured out an agency in Juliaca for foreign plates. I have created an separate iOverlander entry in Juliaca for insurance.

You can park anywhere in the event parking for the hotel above or anywhere in the parking lot. There is no designated spots for trucks or cars I called and the guy said you can just park anywhere as long as there’s no think nothing going on there’s tons of hotel parking when there’s no event. |
